Alpharetta to install 10 new outdoor sculptures across city By JON WILCOX jon@appenmedia.com ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A new series of sculptures will transform Alpharetta into an outdoor art gallery this fall. At an Aug. 3 meeting, the Alpharetta City Council approved a contract with Arts Alpharetta to produce an exhibit featuring 10 new sculptures. Dubbed “Dazzle and Discord,” the pieces will be installed from August to September, city officials said. Officials have installed
artwork throughout Alpharetta since 2018. Kim Zane, cultural services manager, said the art enhances walkability within Alpharetta, stimulating the imaginations of passing residents and visitors. The pieces also serve as useful landmarks. “This is just an outdoor gallery, and it just provides interest as you’re walking,” she said. Zane said some residents have reported growing attached to the previous installation’s artwork.
