Academy of R.O.C.K! Students

The Appalachian Arts Alliance began the new year with comprehensive planning initiatives. January typically presents a slower start, providing staff the opportunity to strategize for the year ahead and ensure we are poised for an even more successful year.

Regular classes, such as Kindermusik and Individual Lessons, resumed in January. Our Director of Education has an exciting array of classes and programs scheduled for the remainder of the year.

“Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you’re passionate about something, then you’re more willing to take risks.”
– Yo-Yo Ma

On February 15, 2025, our community was once again impacted by a flood. Following the devastating flood of 2022, ArtStation launched an initiative aimed at providing children in Eastern Kentucky, who were affected by the disaster, with boxes of art supplies These boxes included an array of materials such as crayons, watercolors, sketchbooks, pastels, paint, and more.

ArtStation revived the ArtShine program with an ambitious goal of distributing 1,000 boxes, and we aim pleased to report that we successfully achieved this target! Through community collaboration and partnerships with organizations such as Kentucky Arts Council, Color Swell Art and the Mountain Association, this mission proved to be a success.
