Tikipunga High School continues to demonstrate that a small school with a big heart can achieve outstanding outcomes for its learners and community. As a Year 7-13 kura serving the Tikipunga community, we are proud of the strong relationships we build with our students and whanau, and the way our school values guide everything we do.
At Tikipunga High School, our values - Ako, Manaakitanga, Pono, Tikanga and Whanaungatanga, shape our learning environment and support a culture where students feel known, supported and encouraged to reach their potential.
Our academic results continue to be a source of pride. Tikipunga High School celebrates ongoing above national average achievement in NCEA, reflecting the dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the strong support of whanau. We prioritise the achievement and wellbeing of every learner: at
Tikipunga High School your tamariki will never just be a number
We also celebrate the creativity and leadership of our students. One such example is Te Koha Williams-Burling, a talented young leader and independent artist whose work has been recognised for three consecutive years through the NZQA Ringa Toi Student Exhibition (Toi Whakairo Section), connected with Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa Te Koha’s success highlights the diverse talents of our students and the opportunities available for them to pursue their passions.
Our school motto, “Tukua o Punga - Cast Your Nets,” reflects our belief that education should empower young people to explore opportunities, discover their strengths and build a positive future At Tikipunga High School we remain committed to helping every student connect, achieve and celebrate success

Since 1881, Whangārei
Boys’ High School has upheld a proud tradition of excellence in academics, sport, culture, and service. Generations of young men have walked through our gates, leaving with the confidence and character to contribute meaningfully to society. That legacy is not just our past it is our future.
Student leadership is central to that legacy.
This year’s leaders will uphold tradition, set high standards, and serve with dedication.
We embrace excellence ensuring students honour the past while forging their own success. Our kura thrives on high expectations and strong support, where leadership is a privilege.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
My strength is not that of an individual, but of the collective.
