A focused investment approach Our investment strategy is anchored in an ambition to build scalable platforms in areas where we can drive long-term value and impact. When assessing new investment opportunities, we apply three selection criteria:
Themes where we see long-term, secular growth trends.
Companies which can utilise and leverage the strengths and capabilities accumulated across our Group throughout 140 years.
LONG-TERM MEGA TRENDS
OUR VALUE ADD
FOCUS AREA
‘NYTTIG VIRKSOMHED’
Our Group’s long-standing purpose of ‘nyttig virksomhed’ – having a positive impact on society.
8
We focus our investments on a few strong themes underpinned by long-term mega trends while addressing critical societal challenges:
GLOBAL TRADE
CIRCULARITY, WATER & WASTE RECOVERY
Enabling global trade in different ways, such as facilitating more efficient logistics across the globe and building critical infrastructure, to help drive the income and prosperity that global trade enables for people and societies worldwide.
Advancing the shift from linear to circular production and consumption models by, for example, developing circular plastic food packaging and water and wastewater management in water scarce areas.
THE ENERGY TRANSITION
DEMOGRAPHIC & SOCIETAL CHANGE
Supporting long-term energy transition in different areas, from providing key services to the wind industry, to helping improve the energy efficiency of heavy industries and tapping geothermal energy’s potential to heat our homes.
Investigating digital and automated ways of working and supporting early and efficient diagnostic services to help alleviate the pressure on our welfare, healthcare, and work systems caused by aging populations, digitalisation, and technological advancements across both mature and emerging economies.
9
10
Building a diversified portfolio We seek to leverage our expertise and experience across different investment mandates:
PRINCIPAL HOLDINGS Control-oriented investments in companies underpinned by long-term mega trends.
INFRASTRUCTURE Investments across energy and transport-related infrastructure.
SCALE-UPS Innovation platforms or start-ups rooted in our Group’s entrepreneurial legacy and spirit.
GROWTH EQUITY Patient minority investments typically in late-stage growth businesses.
PUBLIC MARKETS Investments in global public equities across industries.
11
PRINCIPAL HOLDINGS Whether they have been part of our Group since 1904 or joined more recently, our principal holdings are typically platforms where we can deploy additional capital over time in longterm organic and inorganic growth.

Our corporate home
A.P. Møller House is the office of A.P. Moller Holding. The building was constructed in 1873 to accommo date the Royal Danish Nautical Chart Archives. We named it A.P. Møller House after our founder, A.P. Møller (1876-1965). The House is located next to the A.P. Moller Foundation, the Mærsk family’s non-profit foundation and owner of A.P. Moller Holding. The Foundation donates proceeds to various societal endeavours every year.
