T G Millner Saved In mid 2018, our community worked hard to stop development and rezoning on T G Millner Fields and it was in mid 2022 that I joined forces again with Ryde City Councillors on their campaign to “Save our Open Space”. Our community actions saw over 3,000 people sign my petition which we presented to the Planning Minister, and the Council’s Team took the campaign to the streets of Ryde. The Northern District Planning Panel’s decision was released on 6 December and I was pleased to get the call that the Panel had voted in favour of the land remaining as open space for all to enjoy.

Green space and open fields for sport are now at a premium in Ryde and people are passionate for what is left to remain that way. This is very evident with the entire community’s efforts in fighting this development and I commend every person who participated in this exceptional outcome.
