Our Heroes, Our Stories In a project sponsored by the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation, 17 Latinx state legislators identified unsung community heroes in their districts. After participating in a workshop to discuss the ‘hero's journey’ and how it applied to them, each hero created an avatar to represent their strengths, journey, and obstacles they had overcome. The unsung heroes who created the avatars came from many walks of life, including organizational founders and leaders, entrepreneurs and business people, artists, activists, and other individuals who have made a difference. This exhibit includes photos of some of these heroes holding their avatars, along with what they wrote about their avatar’s meaning. Several of the avatars are also on display. Nuestros héroes, nuestras historias En un proyecto patrocinado por la Fundación del Caucus Latino Legislativo de Illinois, 17 legisladores estatales latinos identificaron a héroes comunitarios anónimos en sus distritos. Después de participar en un taller para discutir el "viaje del héroe" y cómo se aplicaba a ellos, cada héroe creó un avatar para representar sus fortalezas, su viaje y los obstáculos que habia superado.
