Over the past three months, we recognized the chairs and member for their dedication and hard work with APhA-ASP:

Operation Diabetes: Davis John, Julianne Leodones, and Reem Albibi

Great Gator Health Festival: Rayan Lauchman, Krupa Patel, and Sarah Markham
Operation Pride: Elizette Vazquez and Arman Naim

I became a member of APhA because there are dozens of ways to get involved with this organization and make a difference in the Gainesville community. Though I have only been a pharmacy student for 2 months, I am already involved with the patient care committee (operation heart and operation reproductive health) and I am on the policy committee. I feel like I am learning a lot of information and getting a lot of experience quickly, thanks to APhA.

On October 16th, during a City Hall meeting, the Gainesville mayor presented a proclamation to the University of Florida's American Pharmacists Association. This recognition celebrated the dedication and contributions of pharmacists in the community, coinciding with American Pharmacists Month. The event highlighted the important role pharmacists play in healthcare and acknowledges their hard work and commitment.

On October 18th, the Great Gator Health Fest made a return for its 19th year outside the Reitz Union ahead of the UF vs. Mississippi State football game. Over 120 student pharmacists, representing more than a dozen student organizations, demonstrated their commitment to the community by providing essential healthcare services. Through patient education on medication safety and disease prevention, along with free point-of-care screenings, they made a meaningful impact on Gator fans' health and well-being. These future pharmacists are not only advancing their skills but also shaping healthier communities. A special thank you to the GGHF chairs, Rayan Lauchman, Krupa Patel, and Sarah Markham, along with out GGHF committees for their leadership in organizing this impactful event!
