Kindness is a quiet strength. It does not demand attention, but it has the greatest impact. This year, our school-wide priority was kindness, and our students embraced it not just in their words, but in the way they treated one another, welcomed new experiences, and engaged with the world around them.
From our youngest learners to the graduating Class of 2025, who will long be remembered for their gentle leadership and inclusive spirit, our community modeled what it means to lead with empathy, humility, and heart. Whether learning about the traditions that shape our diverse community or serving side-by-side at the Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Monastery, our students practiced kindness as a way of life.
This culture of care is only possible because of you. With your generous support, AOS raised over $1.2 million for the Annual Fund this year. Eighty-five percent of parents participated, and 100 percent of our faculty and staff once again joined this effort. Every dollar you give helps strengthen the people and programs that make AOS exceptional.
Together, we are also building a bold future. As of this writing, we have raised over $23.8 million for the Light the Way Capital Campaign. This is the largest campaign in our school’s history, supporting the largest project in our school’s history. Construction on our new arts and athletics facilities began this summer, and we are filled with anticipation for what lies ahead.

Our campus is in the midst of a remarkable physical transformation, one that mirrors the spiritual, academic, and personal growth taking place within our students each year. The beloved Caloudas Activity Center, home to decades of laughter, games, and school pride, has passed the torch to new arts and athletics facilities. Guided by God’s grace, this milestone reflects not only the vision of our community but also the faith that continues to anchor our school.
This dynamic space will be an arena for growth, a playground for creativity, and a stage for discovery. Students will innovate, explore, and sharpen talents beyond their wildest dreams. Teachers will craft new ways to inspire students to shine as brightly as our Olympic flame. Our new spaces will be home to championships, theatrical masterpieces, and artistic brilliance. It will also be a place where vibrant and treasured memories are made for generations to come.
This achievement is part of a multi-year odyssey made possible by the dedication, generosity, and heart of our AOS family: our administration, faculty, volunteers, and benefactors. Your gifts of time, talent, and resources have turned vision into reality. And the journey isn’t over. Every gift given now reduces the need to borrow and makes this lasting pillar of AOS’s mission even stronger.

As I wrap up my third and final year as Board Chair, I want to say thank you. Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I’ve loved every visit to campus, every lively hallway conversation, and every opportunity to see our children in action. I am grateful to my fellow trustees who serve with extraordinary dedication. I especially want to recognize Paul Doyle, whose service on the board concluded this year. As chair and co-chair of our Governance Committee, Paul brought wisdom, compassion, and pragmatic insight that will be greatly missed.
I am deeply grateful to Kris McGee, our prior board chair, for her mentorship and direction that ensured the new arts and athletics facility project would be grounded in the heritage that built AOS. I would also like to thank Dr. Fragomeni for his vision, diligence, and devotion to our community, which continues to guide our school forward with vigor and love.
Finally, I’m proud to hand the baton to AJ Gracely as our new Board Chair. AJ’s thoughtful leadership, strong dedication, and heart for our community make me certain that AOS will flourish under his stewardship.

THE PARENT TEACHER CLUB PRESIDENT
To say that AOS is a special place is truly an understatement. Whenever I talk about Annunciation Orthodox School, I light up, and it always brings a smile to my face because I’m beaming with pride. It’s not just a school, it is truly a community in every sense of the word. This community is made up of helpers, everyone pitching in, supporting others, and working together. The PTC has many talented and generous helpers. From the detail-focused behind-the-scenes jobs, to the big, all-school events - they are there making the magic happen! The PTC had a very successful year, accomplishing great things and raising significant funds for our school.
The magic began early for many committees! Our E-Phili Mas, Used Uniforms, and Spirit Sales teams were hard at work throughout the summer. In August, the PTC welcomed back faculty and staff with a gratitude lunch during in-service week. Then the 2024-2025 school year was off to a fantastic start with our super high-energy Back to School Breakfast, where everyone had a blast connecting with friends and families. The school inside and out was filled with water fun, balloon animals, sand art, energetic music, and a yummy breakfast. In October at the Book Fair, we all got “Wild About Books,” welcoming AOS readers to go on a safari hunt for exciting new books. The Spaghetti Dinner had record-breaking attendance, gorgeous weather, and provided delicious food to the community and alumni while commemorating our beloved Mrs. Nikkie. Before everyone left for Christmas break, all of the AOS staff were given Nutcracker-themed holiday gifts delivered by the PTC Executive Committee, complete with music and cheer. More wonderful activities continued in the New Year with a spectacular Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week, showering everyone with love! Lovely decor, delicious lunch, and the special handwritten notes of appreciation tugged at everyone’s heartstrings. The Visual Art Exhibition team worked alongside our fabulous art and music departments to showcase our childrens’ artistic talents in April. Finally, in May, AOS was transformed into a wondrous place with jugglers, stilt walkers, and a gigantic inflatable lion welcoming us to “Under the Big Top” 2025 AOS Olympics! On May 22, we all gathered for the last Closing Assembly in the Steve G. Caloudas Activity Center. So many memories in that building for so many families, but there are new, exciting spaces to look forward to creating many more in the future!
AOS is so very fortunate to have exceptional volunteers. Thanks to all of you that enthusiastically said "YES" to chair events, write notes, count down music, manage Christmas robes, keep us all organized, pray for us, feed us, support our student athletes and artists, recover our lost items, organize class events and birthdays, and maintain our Orthodox traditions for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you, thank you for your time and talents!
This year was super special for our family since it was the last one for us at AOS. Thank you AOS for holding our kids close, teaching them kindness, and being such a wonderful place for our family to spend the last 10 years. It was such a joy and honor to serve as PTC President. It was truly the cherry on top! I am thankful and grateful to have worked with all of you to make the magic happen!

THE DADS CLUB PRESIDENT
The Dads Club had a fantastic year and is looking to expand the fun this fall. I want to give a special thanks to Joe Balat, who helped me steer the ship as VP last year. His perspective on Dads Club events is always appreciated.
Our two best-attended events were the Father-Daughter Night Out and Father-Son Night Out, and they did not disappoint! We hosted our first-ever Father-Daughter Dance, which was a huge success. From the photos to the DJ, everyone had a great time. We plan to add this into our rotation as a bi-annual event. Thank you to Jenny Tucker and Katie Andrews for helping with the theme and decorations.
Our Father-Son Night Out returned to Speedy’s Fast Track, where everyone went wild over laser tag, go-karts, mini golf, and more. It’s become a true Dads Club staple! Special thanks to our Social Chair, Jarred King, who coordinated the event space, food, and beverages for over 200 attendees at each event.
The Dads Club’s only fundraiser, the Panos Georgiou Memorial Golf Tournament at BraeBurn Country Club, had a banner year. We sold out all of our teams! Kudos to Robert Charles, Griffin Haby, and David Strauss for refining the on-course events (Beat the Pro and Long Putt) and putting together a fun, fast-paced tournament.
Thank you to Demetri Dale for organizing our sporting clay social at American Shooting Centers. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a blast!
Though we had to cancel the annual Tailgate due to weather (and couldn’t reschedule), we did manage to cook souvlaki for faculty and staff in celebration of the Greek holiday Tsiknopempti, which was a big hit! This year, we aim to cook for the entire school. Special thanks to Demetri Dale, Dimitri Fetokakis, and Erik Stehl for manning the pit.
The dads have great ideas, but we rely on the Advancement Office to help bring them to life. Thank you to Jill Buja, Katherine Monk, Erin Saladin, and all the members of Advancement who support the Dads Club.
I also want to thank all our Dads Club Board Members, who generously volunteer their time and ideas. For me, the Dads Club is one of the best ways for dads to connect beyond grade levels and sports. I’ve met about a dozen incredible AOS dads through these events, whom I’ve called for advice, cycled with, and worked alongside.
