Life of a Cabaret at The Vaasa City Theatre
These are some work samples from the production Cabaret. A classic Broadway musical that premiered in 1966, set in Berlin in the late 1920s. The Vaasa City Theatre made its own adaptation of it in 2024. I completed an internship at the theater’s workshop during the spring of year 2024. I worked as a carpenter and manufactured multiple different size boxes. C A B A R E T Letters on the doors as well as benches for three train carriages.
As main material plywood was used. In this theatre they have the habbit of using big 300mm rivets, shot with air pressure to assembly all the pieces.
The tip of the iceberg of Daile

During my Erasmus internship in Riga, Latvia, I was able to join The creative team in Dailes Teathers workshop. I started working by jumping into on going production, which was based on Hans Christian Andersen’s children’s fairy tale The Wild Swans. The set included a massive iceberg. The iceberg transformed into 5 different parts on the stage. It has a metal frame, plywood upholstery and wheels underneath. On top of the plywood, us, the creative team sculpted the form of the ice berg from polystyrene. The sculpt itself was so big we used saws.
SWEET DREAMS!
My dreams consist of studying at a theatre academy. I am navigating towards set design as well as directing. I have a passion for storytelling, both as a visual concept and as a factor influencing an individual’s worldview. Currently, I want to expand my knowledge of textiles. I am also interested in costume design.
I wish to keep doing in this industry with new expresienses and expand my knowledge what ever catces my interest! Mostly I hope to continue sharing my life with art.
