WELCOME TO CALGARY –BIENVENUE A TOUS

Welcome to Calgary! We decided to return to Calgary since the previously most recent Helicopter Association of Canada conference to take place in this great city was back in 2012. This year, continuing with our traditional primary focus on safety, we have something for everyone, including some popular returning speakers like Kathy Fox and Paul Dittmann of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

We also have several experts speaking on opportunities for how we can deal with the labour shortage, TDG Regulation and safety. Organizers of the 2022 HAC Conference have also placed a priority on student access to the event this year. We have invited all student pilots, AME, structures and avionics students from local educational institutions and other locations to the conference.

Our goal is to provide these aspiring helicopter pilots and maintainers with an opportunity to meet other conference delegates and attend valuable real-world learning sessions, as well as to help facilitate future employment networking opportunities. In short, this year’s conference environment and program will be outstanding and we are excited that you are here to take it all in.

Do take some time to enjoy the beautiful city of Calgary and all it has to offer in the way of food and culture. It’s going to be a memorable convention – professionally and socially. I look forward to seeing you.

HAC 2022

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WELCOME TO CALGARY!

Welcome to our first official HAC in-person event since our conference in 2019. We are excited to be on the eastern side of the Rockies for this year’s event in the beautiful city of Calgary. With the change in venue comes a new streamlined look to programming. When we started to organize this year’s event, we were still in the grip of the global pandemic. Honestly, the crystal ball was pretty murky and there was doubt if the conference would even happen. Like the industry, we forged ahead and here we all are, ready to move forward.

Since the last face-to-face conference in 2019, the industry landscape has changed. Today we face new and different challenges that will require new and creative solutions. We are faced with a labour market that is shrinking at a time when aircraft demand is increasing. We are facing new regulatory pressures on that same shrinking workforce. In response to these challenges, HAC actively encouraged student pilots, AME, structures and avionics students to attend and take part in our educational sessions, as well as network with all industry contacts in attendance.

FRMS is sure to be a hot topic this year; join us in our discussion with Transport Canada and hear what they have to say. Get the regulators take on other pressing issues such as Light Weight Data Recorders, Service Standards from Transport Canada and what they see as the future for the Canadian aviation industry. We have experts on the Transportation of Dangerous regulations, immigration practices for foreign crews, safety systems and let’s not forget our OEM technical briefing sessions. We are thankful to have Kathy Fox and Paul Dittmann of the TSB with us again this year. Their presentations are always informative and help keep us focused on safety. We are sure to have something for everyone at the conference.

Participate in one or more of HAC Committees; attend our trade show floor and our speaker-series programing. You will not be disappointed.
