Daily Prayer Workbook Welcome Welcome to The Heart of Our Daily Prayer Practice. The daily prayers of Yungdrung Bön are much more than beautiful words recited each morning. They are an invitation to awaken the qualities of wisdom, compassion, devotion, gratitude, and inner peace that already exist within each of us. For centuries, these prayers have connected practitioners to an unbroken lineage of realized masters, guiding countless beings along the path of transformation. Approached with devotion, they can be an important and rewarding part of your Bön spiritual journey. Yeru Bön Center strongly feels it is a joy and an honor to share this journey with you under the guidance of Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche and Geshe Yeshe Gyalwa. As we study each prayer together, our hope is that you will take your time. Read slowly. Reflect deeply. Allow each prayer to become more than something you memorize. Allow it to become something you live. This workbook was created to help you understand not only what we recite, but why we recite it. As your understanding grows, you may find that these prayers become trusted companions, offering guidance, comfort, and inspiration in every stage of life. May this course deepen your practice, strengthen your connection to the Yungdrung Bön lineage, and bring lasting benefit to you and to all beings.

How This Online Course Works Rather than simply reading or memorizing the Daily Prayers, Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche and Geshe Yeshe Gyalwa invite you to spend an entire week with each prayer. During each week, you will focus on one prayer. You will recite it daily, reflect upon its meaning, and learn about its history, lineage, purpose, and the masters who composed, preserved, or transmitted it. As the week unfolds, notice how your understanding deepens and how the prayer begins to accompany you throughout your daily life. Each weekly lesson is divided into six parts—one part for each day of study. Plan to spend approximately 30–45 minutes each day completing the lesson, reciting the prayer, and reflecting in your journal. Traditionally, these prayers are done immediately upon waking up in the morning, but if your schedule doesn’t allow it, you may study at the time that works best for you. We encourage you to complete the lesson before the next Monday morning’s review teaching. For the next eight weeks, each Monday morning, Geshe Yeshe Gyalwa will guide the group through the week’s prayer. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from an authentic lineage teacher. You may be surprised to discover how even the smallest question can open the door to a much greater insight.

The Purpose of Your Workbook This workbook was created to help you do more than learn the words of the Daily Prayers. It is designed to help you develop an understanding and meaningful connection with each prayer. This in turn will give you insight into how it connects to Yungdrung Bön practice, history, and lineage. Our hope is that the Daily Prayers will become trusted companions on your spiritual journey, bringing greater clarity, compassion, peace, devotion, and

confidence to your practice. As your understanding grows, so too will your connection to the precious lineage of Yungdrung Bön. May this study bring blessings to you, your family, and all beings.

Preparing for Your Course Before beginning each weekly lesson: 1. Download the materials for the lesson you are working on. Each lesson may include a prayer, sacred images, study materials, and an interactive lineage poster. You are welcome to print these materials if that is helpful. 2. Prepare a journal. You will be asked to record your reflections, discoveries, and questions. You may use a paper notebook or keep a digital journal on your computer. 3. Review the weekly lesson. Look through all six parts before beginning so you understand what you will be studying during the week. 4. Explore every link. Click on the links provided throughout the lesson to discover additional teachings, histories, images, and resources. 5. Use the interactive lineage poster. Move your cursor over the masters, monasteries, and other images. Click each image to learn more about the lineage and history connected to the prayer.

Your Daily Practice Each day: 1. Follow the assigned part of the weekly lesson. 2. Listen to Rinpoche’s or Geshe-la’s recording and recite the prayer with them. 3. Read the prayer in English to understand its meaning.

4. Follow the Tibetan text while listening to the pronunciation. 5. Explore the links, images, histories, and lineage information provided. 6. Take time to reflect and contemplate on the meaning of the prayer, and how the prayer connects with your practice and daily life. 7. Record your reflections and questions in your journal. 8. Email your questions to GesheLa for the next Monday Morning Teaching. There is no required time of day for your study. Choose a time when you can be quiet, attentive, and fully present. The most important thing is to remain actively engaged and complete each weekly lesson before meeting with Geshe-la on Monday morning. If you experience any technical problems or need assistance, please contact us at yerubon@yeruboncenter.org.
