Novel and Nectar, an urban cafe, is crafted to revolutionize the conventional coffee and tea journey. At its essence, this design is a testament to the unwavering commitment to universal inclusivity, seamlessly weaving in ADA components to guarantee that every patron, regardless of background, can revel in the distinctive ambiance. Guided by a palette of soothing earth tones and infused with a captivating library theme, the entire concept draws inspiration from the client’s profound affection for books and nature. From the thoughtfully chosen name to the intricately designed logo, every element harmoniously reflects this fusion of literary passion and nature’s simplicity.

LILY & FRANK’S RESIDENCE

The urban residential space is a testament to sustainability, universal design principles, and the Bing's shared love for books and nature. This eco-conscious home merges modern elegance with functionality, celebrating the couple’s evolving lifestyle. Their newly designed home features a master suite on the third floor, suited for the couple’s needs. The second floor is reserved for common living spaces as well as a small office and guest bedroom.

Neutral palettes, natural materials, and highquality finishes create an inviting atmosphere. The townhouse stands as a timeless expression of the client’s values, offering a warm and elegant space that harmonizes with moderncontemporary aesthetics and nature.

MID-CENTURY KITCHEN RENNOVATION

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

CLIENT SUMMARY

Andre and Simone, a family of four in Suburban New Jersey, are updating their 1960s raised ranch kitchen, last renovated in the 90s. They aim to match their active lifestyle, respect the mid-century architecture, and fuse a 60s color palette with contemporary features. Their wish list includes space-saving appliances, a range hood, extra storage, and a kitchen island for four, all with an open budget.

Integrate universal design principles, eco-friendly design practices, and adhere to NKBA standard planning guides, all while meticulously catering to the client's requirements for ample counter space, seating for four, additional storage solutions, and innovative space-saving features.

The remodel creates a functional, family-friendly space with a large soaking tub for relaxation. It blends mid-century design with modern art-inspired details, using durable materials and smart storage solutions. The design honors the home’s history while enhancing everyday comfort and efficiency.

he lobby features a five-story atrium and waterfall, ying back to the biophilic principle, inviting the presence f water indoors. Traditional neutral tones reflect the egion’s heritage, while the use of color contrast, an ssential element in traditional Kyoto design, adds depth nd vibrancy. The materials in the lobby strike a balance etween soft and hard textures, incorporating acoustical anels to reduce noise reverberation throughout the trium. The design harmonizes with natural and modern lements, drawing inspiration from both flowers and mountains. The lobby creates a lasting impression, offering guests an inspiring and tranquil experience in the heart of Kyoto, Japan.

The restaurant’s design blends Japanese culture and nature, inspired by cherry blossoms and the Higashiyama mountain range to symbolize growth and renewal. Natural materials reflect bamboo forests and mountains, while river views, live greenery, and traditional craftsmanship create a harmonious, eco-conscious dining experience.

The Wellness Center is a sanctuary for rejuvenation The relaxation rooms feature an array of traditional Japanese treatments, designed to promote health and well-being. Upon entering through the main retail space, guests can explore a selection of local and traditional wellness products, providing an opportunity to bring home a piece of the wellness experience. Integrating both, wellness and cultural techniques creates a holistic and immersive environment for traveling guests.

WATERS’ OFFICE RENNOVATION

The Waters' office renovation is a bespoke freelance design project, thoughtfully tailored to the client's needs. They envisioned a functional workspace for two, ample storage, a comfortable sitting area, and décor that aligned with their transitional style. The final design maximizes the available square footage, incorporating smart storage solutions and utilizing wall space efficiently. The office exudes a bright and airy ambiance while maintaining warm, neutral tones that seamlessly blend with the rest of the home's design aesthetic.
