Asalways,AnLanntairisproudtoprovideaplatformwhereartistsand communitiescancometogether,shareideasandcelebratecreativityinallits forms.However,inrecentmonthswehavefacedsignificantfinancialchallenges followingseverereductionstoourcorefundingfromlocalgovernment.Inresponse wehavehadtomakeanumberofdifficultdecisionstoensurethelong-term sustainabilityoftheorganisation.Thishasincludedreducingelementsofour programmingandcinemascreenings,scalingbackaspectsofourmarketingand oureducationandoutreachwork,andsadlymakingreductionstostaffinglevels. Wearealsocontinuingtocarefullymonitorourenergyconsumptionandmayneed toconsiderreducedopeninghoursduringthewintermonthsRegrettably,thishas alsomeantcuttingbackonsomeoftheworkthatdoesnotgeneratesignificant ticketincome,includingfreeeventsandactivitiesthatsupportvulnerable individualsorthosewhomaynototherwisebeabletoaccessthearts. Everything he owned fit into a backpack and one doubled bin bag. It had taken him less than ten minutes to pack up four years of his life. It had taken a little longer to fold himself away, to hide all the bits of himself that had slowly been unfurling since he had arrived on the mainland.

In truth, he had not changed that much since he had been at college, and as he roamed the ferry he wondered if he had always known he would be forced to come home eventually.

From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

An Lanntair is seeking passionate and skilled artists to lead engaging art classes as part of our Summer Programme. We welcome proposals from practitioners across all art forms whether you work in dance, music, visual arts, design, theatre, or beyond. Our classes are designed for adult learners who are eager to explore new creative skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.

You don’t need prior teaching experience to apply. We’re looking for individuals who are confident in their practice and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with others. If you have a strong artistic voice and a desire to help others learn, we’d love to hear from you.

We are particularly interested in workshop series that run once a week for one to two hours over a six-week period. However, we also welcome proposals for one-off, full-day workshops. Sessions can focus on technical skills, creative exploration, or a combination of both—what matters most is that they offer participants a meaningful and enjoyable learning experience.

When submitting your proposal, please include an outline of how your classes would be structured, along with details of any materials or equipment required. We may get in touch to discuss adjustments to your plan before making a final decision.

This is an exciting opportunity to connect with a community of learners, share your creative expertise, and contribute to a vibrant seasonal programme.
