Welcome to our 2026 Annual Bull Sale and thank you for your interest in this year’s offering. We are delighted to be able to present a stellar selection of bulls, carefully bred and prepared to meet the evolving needs of today’s cattle producers.
The 2026 sale team comprises 24 lots, featuring meticulously planned matings that include two exciting new sires alongside five proven performers. Together, they deliver a balanced and progressive offering designed to enhance productivity, efficiency, and profitability across a wide range of breeding programs.
Stud principal Clayton Trigwell, along with his wife Clare, is particularly pleased with the combination of management and performance traits evident in this year’s team.
“The average genomically verified docility score of the sale bulls sits in the top 38% of the breed, combined with very strong performance for traits that have a real impact on the bottom line, such as net feed efficiency,” Clayton said.
“This year’s selection also offers excellent versatility, with more than 60% of the bulls suitable for heifer mating.”
Bred to perform in the paddock, all bulls have been raised and finished on a 100% grass-fed diet, proving their efficiency, resilience and adaptability to seasonal conditions. This approach underpins our goal of delivering bulls that provide long-term value and dependable performance.
As a smaller family operation, we place a strong emphasis on quality over quantity. This allows us to give individualised attention to each animal and to offer a personalised service to buyers, helping match bulls to specific breeding objectives and herd requirements.
We believe that purchasing a bull is more than a single transaction—it is an investment in a breeding philosophy and an ongoing relationship. Our commitment to careful breeding, selection, preparation, and after-sales support is designed to reward your investment with reliable performance for many years and progeny you will be proud to see in your front paddock.
On that note, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate one of our clients, Peter Dawson from Mirreanda in Busselton on his recent back to back win in the Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) Excellence in Eating Quality Awards.
Mirrenanda was the WA winner in the Most Outstanding MSA Non-Feedlot Band 2 division (with annual consignments between 100 and 500 head) following a win in 2023 and being acknowledged for having a deep understanding of genetics, nutrition, and animal welfare. Congratulations to the Dawson family.
We warmly invite everyone to inspect this year’s sale team at our onfarm open day on Friday, February 6, from noon to 3pm, at 1151 Vasse Highway, Yoongarillup, and look forward to seeing you on sale day.

Angus Australia EBV update
Each year, Angus Australia advances the genetic evaluation by updating the TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE). Two recent additions include the new traits: Mature Cow Height (MCH) and Mature Cow Body Condition (MBC).
Previously categorised as research breeding values, these traits are now full Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). The heritability of these traits is 0.51 for MCH, 0.21 for MBC, and 0.43 for Mature Cow Weight (MCW), demonstrating that genetic selection can drive meaningful change.
Importantly, these three traits are genetically correlated. MCW is highly correlated with both MCH (0.83) and MBC (0.87), while MCH and MBC have a weak correlation of 0.21. This means that cows can achieve similar weights through different combinations of height and body condition. This is especially important when selecting sires, as it highlights the need to look beyond weight alone and consider the balance between frame size and body condition.
Historically, carcass Rib and Rump Fat EBVs have long been sed as a proxy for selecting softer, easier-fleshing females with additional fat cover. MBC EBVs now provide a trait specifically designed for this selection pressure. The correlation between MBC and carcass Rib and Rump Fat EBVs is weak, at 0.3 and 0.19 respectively, indicating that while there is some genetic relationship, these traits uniquely describe different aspects of fat composition.
If your breeding objective is to influence the body condition score of mature females, the MBC EBV is the most direct and effective tool for driving that change.

REFERENCE SIRES
1. S RIGHT TIME 7861: A new sire for this year’s sale out of the USA with a deep pedigree on the paternal side, complemented by S Chism 6175 on the maternal side. Predictably, his sons demonstrate added thickness and volume with sound feet, while his daughters exhibit the rare combination of productive maternal qualities without sacrificing feed efficiency.
2. Moogenilla Quinella Q33: A new Australian sire for this year who improves upon the structural soundness of his forebears. His calves are born easily and moderately sized. Once on the ground they grow quickly, displaying balanced performance and a consistently quiet disposition at weaning.
3. Millah Murrah Rembrandt R48: A son of the popular Millah Murrah Paratrooper who takes the performance of his sire and steps it up a gear with significant improvement in temperament, fat cover and claw shape. His calves are quiet and thick bodied with a traditional Angus head. He has a balanced, no holes resume which is what we like to see in a herd bull.
4. Whispering Pines R21: Whispering Pines R21 has some very exciting EBV figures. He is a standout son of Baldridge Beast Mode, and affectionately known on farm as Roaming Brian. His calves demonstrate explosive growth rates (top 1% 200 day), with his progeny consistently topping our weaning weight charts and he is a super star for net feed intake.
6. Whispering Pines Q82: A sire with tremendous width that incorporates all we love about the Angus breed. He exhibits a curve bending low birth weight and high early growth while also producing moderate and efficient mature cow weights. You can expect his calves to excel in the most challenging growing seasons with fats in the top 10 per cent of the breed. A product of highly sought after Baldridge Bronc and elite donor cow Whispering Pines K7 with outstanding maternal pedigree on both sides.
5. Murdeduke Quarterback Q011: Another new sire this year, Quarterback combines short gestation and great fertility with positive fats, all the while maintaining a high IMF level. His calves have great structure with plenty of eye appeal and a slick skin. Quarterback is gaining ground quickly with 5000 progeny across 200 herds already in Australia.

7. Whispering Pines N48: The perennial favourite of farm tours. An attractive, highly muscled outcross with a no-holes resume. A versatile sire who complements
