Evans Senior Center has a New Art Instructor
New face, new instructor brings a different stroke of art to the Town of Evans Senior Center. Director Sullivan is very excited to witness the enthusiasm Annette Waler has brought to the members of the center in her new class “Painting with Acrylics”. The feedback from the members that are taking her art class are enjoying the opportunity on painting various ideas of the instructor choice, which has been a “Tropical Island”, “Fall Harvest” Theme. As the members are painting they are engaging in conversation, laughing and that is what you want to hear throughout your building. Anneette Waler not only has been instructing, she also as local artist gave of her time and energy and painted a Fall landscape on one the other blank slates in the Senior lunch room. We are so fortunate in Evans to have such talented, inspirational people that give of themselves to support the continuous necessary change at their local Senior Center. Southtowns Catholic School Christmas Concert
On December 13th, SCS held their annual Christmas Concert. For the 2nd year, it featured our STREAM Academy Bucket Drummers. Most of our students who pick Bucket Drumming have never touched drum sticks until September and by December, they sound amazing. The performance featured 6th, 7th and 8th grade students doing improve. It was a blend of African Drumming and Marching Drum Line. They didn’t know what Mr. Darnley was going to play and they had to play along. Great concept!!
