Community News features the wonderful restoration project going on at Bramall Hall. We were kindly invited to have a roof top look at the great work being done. Unfortunately, I get vertigo standing on a chair, so I had to decline, but for those daredevils amongst you go and take the tour. Page 42.

MID CENTURY DESIGN FOR THE RETRO VIBES
My love for colour, pattern and strong design can be used in many styles, but the Mid Century furniture and design is, perhaps, my favourite. When I had my furniture and interiors store in Belfast, I always had plenty of furniture and accessories showcasing how these beautiful designer shapes worked in a home.
The big glass ball light you see over the dining table here is a classic Verner Panton light, not cheap, but wow what a statement. This was a light I stocked in my store, pleasing Northern Ireland’s interior lovers who could see it in real life, not just on the internet. Not everything needs to be Mid Century in style when putting a room together to achieve the look. It blends well with more modern furniture, giving a nod to the retro style. The child’s bedroom pictured here has been carefully put together with the beautiful drawer unit being the only Mid Century piece. The bed would work well in this style also, a wooden headboard in the same wood finish and these aren’t difficult to find, places like Habitat offer lots in this style.
I love the master bedroom here with all the vibrant colours and the shaped headboard, which wouldn’t look out of place in a completely differently designed room. If the colours are too bold for your taste it would work just as well with the tones muted down, plainer bedside tables, still unmatched, and a lighter wall to the right. The carefully sourced art is perfectly scaled and matches the fun vibe of the room. The rug is fantastic with colour tying in – imagine a neutral or cream rug here, it would clash and look completely out of place. This room looks like a happy place. For tips and
tricks, follow me on Instagram. If you’d love me to help you, please do get in touch.

Need a gift for someone born in March or April? Why not surprise them with one of the biggest trends
around – antique jewellery, writes Charles Hanson
If your loved one has a birthday this spring then, take it from me, they are bang on trend – gem wise that it. Antique jewellery is no longer a niche interest reserved for collectors and specialists. From the pages of the style magazines to vintage fairs, historic pieces are enjoying an unprecedented revival.
None more so than aquamarine –March’s birthstone –and April’s birthstone of a diamond
In fact our salerooms are teeming with buyers as pieces achieve spiralling amounts. It is, as ever, the Gen-Zs fuelling the boom.
A square cut aquamarine dress ring was valued at £300 at a recent valuation day, all images courtesy of Hansons Auctioneers
A diamond and 18ct gold ring, comprising an antique cushion cut diamond, sold for £750
That generation is leading the move away from fast fashion and disposable luxury with their goals ideally met in antique jewellery. And where Gen-Z lead, us Gen-Xs and Boomers follow.
When it comes to diamonds one of the most striking trends comes from a cultural icon, who revered like a goddess among the under 30s.
I am of course talking about the pop legend Taylor Swift.
In the past, engagement rings, were made to be worn every day, with enormous gems typically reserved for special occasions such as cocktail rings. Not anymore – big stones are back when popping the question.
So it is no surprise more and more couples are opting for aquamarine – March’s birthstone – as a unique engagement ring, or statement piece. It merges the Latin words for water (aqua) and “of the sea” (marina) and is connected to the ocean.
Big is beautiful – this topaz and diamond set 18ct white gold ring sold for £220 at one of Hansons’ salerooms
An aquamarine and 18ct white gold pendant recently sold at one of Hansons’ salerooms for £2,400
After Travis Kelce proposed to the US singer with an old mine-cut diamond ring, it sparked a whole new trend in the saleroom. Out were the modern machine-cut solitaires, in favour of something approaching the giant 10 carat stone now residing on Swift’s ring finger.
Stunning in every way, it would have been hand carved at the old mine where it was discovered (hence the name) likely 200 years ago in either India or Brazil. Shimmering with history, it was designed to look perfect for sparkling in Georgian candlelight.
Ancient Romans believed aquamarine could protect people travelling across the sea. It’s also a symbol of youth and happiness. Its value is determined by its weight, colour, cut and clarity. Because of the trend for calming “baby blue” colours, its versatility in both minimalist and bold designs, and its status as a timeless, romantic alternative to diamonds.
If you have a piece of jewellery you would like our experts to value, we have two free pop-in session in Cheshire on April 14.
The first, from 9.30am-11.30am, is at the Pavilion By Francs, Hale, Altrincham; with an afternoon valuation from 1pm-3pm at St Johns Knutsford Church Centre, Church Hill in Knutsford.

Community Care
GROWING OLDER WITHOUT LOSING YOURSELF
Growing older is something we all do, yet it’s often spoken about in hushed tones or framed as something to be feared. As a care professional, and as someone who has the privilege of walking alongside people in later life every day, I see something very different. I see strength, character, humour, and a deep sense of self that doesn’t disappear with age — it simply evolves.
Let’s celebrate growing older. Not despite the changes it brings, but because of them.
To grow older is to carry a lifetime of experiences. Every joy, challenge, success, and lesson becomes part of who you are. Age is not something that replaces your identity — it adds depth to it. You are not defined by a number, a diagnosis, or a change in mobility. You are defined by your values, your memories, your relationships, and the things that still make you feel like you.
doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. It might be gardening, reading, cooking, listening to music, or sharing stories. These moments matter. They nourish the soul and remind us that pleasure and purpose don’t have an expiry date.
Of course, things change — bodies, routines, roles. Learning how to adapt to those changes is one of the quiet strengths of growing older. Adaptation isn’t giving in; it’s growing wiser. It’s finding new ways to do what you love, asking for support when needed, and recognising that independence and connection can exist side by side.
Growing older is not about losing yourself. It’s about becoming more fully who you are. This chapter of life deserves respect, celebration, and kindness — especially from ourselves.
This season of life often brings a slower pace, and that isn’t a failure — it’s an invitation. An invitation to savour moments, to listen more closely, to enjoy the things that once rushed past. Slowing down doesn’t mean stopping. It means choosing how you spend your time more intentionally. Staying active might look different now, but it is no less meaningful. A walk instead of a run. A coffee with a friend instead of a packed diary. Activity is about engagement, not exhaustion.
Doing things that make you happy becomes even more important as we age. Happiness
Because ageing isn’t the end of the story. It’s simply a new season, with its own rhythm, beauty, and meaning.

ENCOURAGING WILDLIFE IN THE GARDEN THROUGH THOUGHTFUL PLANTING
Gardens can play a vital role in supporting wildlife, particularly in suburban and urban areas where natural habitats are increasingly fragmented. By choosing the right plants and adopting a more relaxed approach to garden maintenance, it is possible to create a space that benefits birds, insects, and small mammals throughout the year. One of the most effective ways to encourage wildlife is through planting shrubs and trees that provide food and shelter. Shrubs such as Cotoneaster, Pyracantha and Ilex (holly) are excellent choices, as they produce berries that many birds rely on, especially during the colder months. Similarly, small berrying trees like Crataegus (hawthorn) and Sorbus (rowan) are invaluable. These trees not only provide fruit but also offer nesting sites and protection from predators. Importantly, many of these plants hold onto their berries through winter and into early spring, when food is scarce and birds are most vulnerable.
harmful to wildlife. Leaving areas of the garden a little messy can make a huge difference. Fallen leaves and decaying plant matter help insulate the soil, protecting roots from frost during winter. As they break down, they also add natural nutrients, improving soil health and creating leaf mould that benefits plants in the long term.
A few years ago, I noticed something unusual in my garden during autumn. Leaves seemed to be moving and gathering in a corner beneath a woody tree. At first, I assumed the wind was responsible. It wasn’t until spring that I discovered the true cause: a hedgehog had collected the leaves and dry litter to build a winter nest. Since then, by continuing to leave parts of the garden undisturbed, we have been rewarded with a growing hedgehog population. Three years on, we now have a family of three hedgehogs, with successive years of hoglets, a wonderful sign that the garden is providing what they need.
In my own garden here in suburban Stockport, I have seen first-hand how planting with wildlife in mind can transform a garden. Each spring, a wide variety of birds visit, including sparrows, thrushes and blackbirds. Smaller birds are particularly attracted to the blossom of hawthorn and rowan. In May, it is a joy to watch blue tits and robins flitting through the branches, pecking at the flowers and feeding on the insects they attract. These moments are a reminder that gardens are not just decorative spaces, but living ecosystems.
Beyond planting, how we manage our gardens is just as important. Modern gardening often encourages tidiness, cutting back plants early, clearing fallen leaves, and removing dead growth. While this may look neat, it can be
Encouraging wildlife does not require large spaces or expensive changes. Even small gardens can make a difference with thoughtful planting and a willingness to let nature take the lead. By choosing berry-bearing shrubs and trees, allowing plants to flower, and resisting the urge to over-tidy, gardeners can create havens for wildlife while enjoying a richer, more vibrant garden themselves.
Sometimes, the simplest acts, planting a tree or leaving a pile of leaves, can have the greatest impact.
Happy Gardening!

Club News BRAMHALL GOLF CLUBS NEW PRESIDENT AND CAPTAINS FOR 2026
Its that time of year again at Bramhall Golf Club, when we welcome the new President, Captain and Lady Captain.
Mr Gary Smith, (President 2026)
Mr Mike Whelan (Captain 2026) Mrs Jean Hindmoor (Lady Captain 2026) and Jim Ellis (Junior Captain)
The new officers would like to thank the outgoing Officers for the excellent year they put on in 2025, a hard act to follow. 2026 however is set to be a fantastic year at the club with the opening of the newly reconfigured 11th, 12th and 13th on the back 9. As is customary following the Annual General Meeting on the Friday evening the club holds the Captains Welcome evening on Saturday followed by the Drive In on the Sunday. These events took place over the weekend of the 30th of January this year and here is what the dignitaries had to say.
MR CAPTAIN
MR PRESIDENT
“I am extremely honoured to have been appointed Captain of Bramhall Golf Club for the year ahead.
I have been a member here for close to 40 years following in the footsteps of my Mum and Dad who joined in 1977. Both were Captains in their time, and it is 30 years since Dad, John Whelan was appointed. I am very proud to continue the family tradition. I am looking forward to lots of golf over the next 12 months I will do all I can to make it a great
year for the club and I do intend to enjoy it.”
MRS LADY CAPTAIN
“I am sooo looking forward to the year ahead, our lady’s section is one of the best in the area, not only for golf, but we also know how to party!
I must confess to a little relief that my Captain’s DriveIn is over. Having tried (but failed) to persuade our Professional, Scott, to take my shot I turned to Plan B - a swift baby Guinness. I am delighted to say it hit the spot, and my drive was one of my best. Maybe not a tactic for use on the course though.
We have an exciting year ahead with our new holes opening Bramhall’s own Amen corner. Challenging and terrifying are my immediate thoughts!”
“What an honour the club has bestowed on me for 2026 I truly thank every single one of the membership.
I truly believe we have one of the best member’s clubs in East Cheshire, this embodies both the membership and also includes all of the staff at Bramhall Golf Club, therefore in 2026 I will find it an honour, privilege and feel proud to greet, or play golf with any members, visiting parties or dignitaries.”
All members at Bramhall Golf Club would like to wish our dignitaries a fantastic year ahead. 2026 is going to be a showstopper.

The New Era of Plant-Based Travel: Why the “Plate of Chips” is History Travel advice
For those embracing a vegan lifestyle, travel used to feel like a series of compromises. We’ve all been there: scanning a menu only to settle for a side of chips and a lonely salad while the rest of the table enjoys local specialties. For too long, the “vegan option” was an afterthought—a box to be ticked rather than a culinary experience to be enjoyed.
But as we move through 2026, the travel industry is continuing to undergo a profound shift. The “plate of chips” era is officially over. Opting for a plant-based lifestyle is a powerful way to reduce our environmental footprint. These proteins produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions and use far less land and water than traditional meat production. It is a choice that benefits our health, protects animals, and preserves the planet for the very adventures we love to go on.
diet—which has always leaned on incredible olive oils, wild greens, and pulses—they have reinvented iconic Grecian flavours without animal products. It proves you can immerse yourself in authentic Mediterranean culture while staying true to your values.
3. MYND Adeje, Tenerife Tenerife is a year-round favourite, but MYND Adeje is a standout for its creative LAMESA eatery. This isn’t just “health food”; it’s fun food. From customizable poke bowls to a show-stopping vegan cheesecake that rivals any traditional version, their menu is proof that plant-based dining can be both varied and genuinely indulgent.
Whether you are celebrating Veganuary or simply looking for a fresher, more conscious way to see the world, here are four short-haul destinations leading the way in world-class vegan hospitality:
1. Nirvana Cosmopolitan, Turkey Turkey’s culinary heritage is famously aromatic, but the Nirvana Cosmopolitan in Antalya is elevating the experience for plant-based guests. Their Ch’i For Life restaurant is a revelation, offering nutrientpacked smoothies, vibrant whole-food bowls, and organic wines. They’ve even mastered vegan ice cream and sugar-free desserts. It is the ultimate retreat for those seeking a holiday focused on “wellness from the inside out.”
2. Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa, Greece Crete’s rugged beauty is now matched by its evolving food scene. Apollonia Beach is home to Avocado, the island’s first exclusively vegan restaurant. By drawing inspiration from the traditional Cretan
4. St Raphael Resort, Cyprus In Limassol, this resort has embraced the movement wholeheartedly, dedicating 30% of its entire menu to vegan dishes. Their Seashells Healthy Living restaurant is located right on the beach, allowing you to enjoy sensational Mediterranean flavours with the sand between your toes. It’s an ideal escape where conscious living meets total seaside relaxation.
Travel should be about exploration, not restriction. As global hospitality evolves, the world is becoming a much more inclusive—and delicious—place for the conscious traveller. We no longer have to choose between our ethics and our wanderlust.

MAKING TAX DIGITAL FOR INCOME TAX IS ALMOST UPON US!!
The UK government’s drive to modernize the tax system continues with Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax. After launching MTD for VAT, the next huge step is MTD for Income Tax. Starting 6 April 2026, self-employed individuals and landlords with income over £50,000 will be required to comply. If you fall into this category, you should receive a letter from HMRC, but even if you haven’t, it’s still your responsibility to sign up.
MTD for Income Tax replaces the traditional self-assessment system with digital quarterly updates. Instead of submitting a tax return once a year, individuals will report income and expenses every three months using compatible software. At the end of the tax year, a fifth and final return to confirm and finalize your figures must also be submitted by 31 January following the tax year. This move aims to simplify the tax process, reduce errors, and provide a clearer view of year-round finances.
Automated tools may reduce the risk of errors, ensuring more precise submissions and regular updates ought to provide a clearer picture of your finances, helping you plan effectively. Hopefully the end of ‘end-of-year surprises’: with consistent reporting, you’ll know what you owe throughout the year, avoiding last-minute tax time stress.
For some, adjusting to quarterly reporting may be challenging, especially if you’re not tech-savvy. Additionally, there may be costs for subscribing to MTD-compliant software. Tracking income and expenses more regularly may require changes to your current processes. However, HMRC will provide support, and available tools will make the transition easier.
If you earn over £50,000, start preparing for the April 2026 deadline by researching MTDcompatible software and ensuring your records are up to date.
From 6 April 2026, those earning over £50,000 from self-employment or rental income must report quarterly. This represents a shift from the annual system and will affect sole traders and landlords. A year later the threshold for signing up falls to £30,000 and £20,000 the year after, so this mechanism will soon impact many of the self-employed and many landlords.
The most significant change is the shift from annual tax returns to quarterly reporting. You will need to submit summaries of income and expenses every three months in addition to a final year-end return due by 31 January, ensuring HMRC has a more accurate picture of your finances. To comply, you must use software that connects directly to HMRC. Many available tools automate record-keeping and reporting, eliminating the need for manual data entry and making it easier to stay on top of finances. HMRC suggests that we will feel the improvement of quarterly updates which will make the process less stressful than dealing with annual returns.
Even if you haven’t received a letter from HMRC, you are still required to comply. It’s essential to understand the new requirements and begin preparing for them as soon as possible.
MTD for Income Tax may make the process of filing taxes more efficient, accurate, and manageable. By adopting digital tools and keeping up with quarterly reporting, you’ll be well-positioned to navigate this change with confidence. With April 2026 just around the corner, now is the time to ask your accountant how you should start preparing for the new era of digital tax reporting.

Mindset Advice FEBRUARY & MARCH CAN BE THE PERFECT TIME FOR CHANGE
January often feels like the longest month of the year… and it never quite delivers the transformational change that society expects.
New Year’s resolutions may as well be written on pre shredded paper, to save everyone the bother of disposing of them once they fail.
So, once February arrives; the gym memberships have gone unused, the restrictive diets have fallen apart, the resolutions have failed and thankfully, people have stopped taking about the pointless 3 day fast they’ve just done.
So don’t worry if your year is not going to plan so far… you are not alone.
The New Year’s resolution circus is nothing but arbitrary calendar pressure, destined to fail. We will make changes when we are ready to make them and that could be on any day of any year of our life.
All that being said, it is clear to me that February and March can make change more likely to stick. The days are stretching longer, there’s a subtle shift in energy, new life is starting to appear and there’s far less pressure upon us than in January.
Humans don’t need perfect conditions to make changes of course, we’re sophisticated enough to run in winter, eat nutritious food all year-round, and commit to better sleep regardless of the season. But there is no doubt, as the months roll by it gets easier.
The key cornerstones of good health are physical fitness, nutrition, sleep, and mental health and they are all interconnected. Once we start to address them collectively and in a sustainable way, we get to enjoy the synergies that emerge. Here’s What You Can Do
n Morning daylight exposure - Get outside within 30 minutes of waking, even for five minutes. Natural light regulates your circadian rhythm, improving both alertness during the day and sleep quality at night.
n Move your bodyThree 10-minute bursts woven into your day beats the hour-long gym session you keep postponing. Take the stairs, walk during lunch, do press-ups or squats in your office, it all adds up.
n Sleep effectively - There are many sleep tips on my website www.niosleep. com, so please go and read them. We need 7-9 hours a night and it’s non negotiable for mood, energy and cognitive function. Establish a sleep routine that works for you and then build your life around it.
n Protein with every meal – This stabilises blood sugar, reduces cravings, and supports recovery. Aim for 25-30g per meal as a minimum and 1-2g per day per kilo of body weight.
n Adequate hydration – Most people operate chronically dehydrated. Two litres per day is the average we need. Poor hydration mimics fatigue and impedes mental clarity.
n Stop making excuses! It’s not too cold for salad. It’s not too dark to exercise. It’s not the wrong season to start. These are stories we tell ourselves to avoid taking action.
There is never a totally “right time”, and the perfect conditions for change may never arrive, but Spring is about as good as it gets.
So now that you have read this, make yourself a plan and stick to it, with the objective being that you never need to “start all over “ever again.

MONDAY 20TH APRIL - SATURDAY 25TH APRIL: BROOKDALE THEATRE PRESENTS THE PRODUCERS BY MEL BROOKS
Based on the 1968 film, Mel Brooks’s musical The Producers is a laugh-out-loud, outrageous, crowd-pleasing farce that has been a smash hit since its 2001 debut. Fading Broadway producer Max Bialystock is desperate to get to the top of his profession again, and he finds an unlikely ally in mousy accountant Leo Bloom, who hypothesizes that one could make far more money with a flop of a show than with a hit. Together, the two set out to produce the worst musical ever to hit Broadway, with the worst script, the worst director, and the worst cast they can find; the catch is that they will raise two million dollars to finance the show, and they plan to take the money and head to Rio when the show inevitably closes after just one performance. Too bad for Bialystock & Bloom that, against all odds, the show is a total hit! Curtain up 7:30pm tickets at www. thebrookdaleclub.com

YOU ARE HOW YOU EAT
Dietary Wisdom from Chinese Medicine
D“He
that takes medicine and neglects diet wastes the skills of the physician.”
Chinese Proverb
iet is central to the Chinese principle of ‘Yangsheng’ - the art of nourishing life by cultivating a healthy lifestyle. Whilst the food that we choose to eat is important, how we eat is considered to be even more important than what we eat.
How often have you eaten a perfectly nutritious sandwich while working in front of a screen, watching the telly or whilst driving to an appointment? You may know that you’ve eaten it, as you’re no longer hungry and the empty sandwich packaging is there as evidence. However, you haven’t really taken any satisfaction from it and it’s lying quite heavy on your stomach. Before long, you’re hankering after something else because it didn’t really hit the spot. You might be surprised to hear that joy is the most important aspect of eating in Chinese Medicine. If we enjoy food and have a positive attitude to it, we actually digest it better. Food has to taste good and appeal to you and if it does, it will nourish not only your body, but also your mind and spirit.
We should all ‘breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper’ when we can. Food is digested most effectively in the morning when it also serves as fuel for the day. In the evening we should eat less and ideally have finished eating by 7pm when the acupuncture channels involved in digestion are at a low ebb. And your body loves a routine, so if possible, eat at the same times every day.
It is important to eat slowly, chew your food, don’t overwhelm your stomach by eating too much at any time and stop eating before you’re full. As an average, we should aim for enough food to fit 2 cupped hands. Relax when eating, avoid distractions, eat sitting down and make each meal a little ceremony.
It’s important to drink plenty of water – about 8 glasses a day on average – as every system in your body needs water. Many of us are chronically dehydrated and this can lead to all kinds of problems. However, you should avoid drinking much with a meal as this dilutes stomach enzymes and overwhelms the stomach.
Chinese dietary therapy is most of all about being sensible and balanced. Eat widely and well, incorporate different flavours, avoid faddy diets and – you will love this - remember that a little of what you fancy does indeed do you good. If you’d like to know more, please get in touch.

BRAMALL HALL –UNDER OUR ROOF Community news
Thanks to a £1.6m grant from the Art Council of England’s Museums Estates Development Fund (MEND), we have been working hard on this essential restoration and conservation project at Bramall Hall. These essential repairs will protect the Hall and its irreplaceable collections from any further damage due to water leaks. The restoration project, Under Our Roof, will make the building more resilient to the impact of climate change. Without these vital repairs, water leaks will lead to further irreversible damage to the Hall’s structure, building fabric and museum’s collections. The Under Our Roof project has made sure that Bramall Hall will continue to have a bright long future as a leading cultural attraction, hospitality venue and local community resource. For more information regarding the restoration project visit www.stockport.gov.uk/aboutbramall-hall.

Lazy Brunch
BRUNCH BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING
Since it’s coming up to Easter I thought I’d do something with eggs for this edition. Then I thought people may be having guests over to stay or just entertaining. I like a brunch that seeps into lunch which is then followed by a nap and this recipe fits the bill as long as you get the timings right. If you aim for an 11.30 start you can justify a bellini or a bloody Mary at 12.
Serves 4.
Grease a baking dish (approx. 20 x 30cm) with the butter. Tear up the baguette into bitesize chunks and put into the dish. Tear up the ham and put this along with most of the grated cheese into the gaps.
Mix together the eggs, milk and cream until well combined. Then pour over the bread/ham/ cheese mix. Cover and chill an leave overnight ready for cooking at 11.00 ish the next morning.
Butter (for greasing the dish – do this well or you’ll regret it)
1 baguette
Pack of good thick slice ham about 100g
150g Gruyere cheese grated – plus another 10 or so grams for the top
5 eggs
500ml milk
284ml single cream]1 tbsp Dijon mustard
When you are ready to cook –pre heat the oven to 180 c. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and bake in the oven for about 45 mins. Keep an eye on it towards the end of cooking time and if it looks to brown too early put some foil on it until the end. It should be slightly wobbly and lovely and crisp on top.
Enjoy! Then enjoy your nap you deserve it!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PILATES?
Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that combines deep breathing with gentle stretching to boost strength, balance, and mobility. Workouts target your “powerhouse” your abs, lower back, pelvic floor, hips, and glutes. In Pilates the quality of movement is more important than the quantity of repetitions. Correct breathing is essential, and helps you execute movements with maximum power and efficiency, learning to breathe properly can reduce stress.
high intensity workout.
Combining core strength, balance and coordination with an energetic cardiovascular element HIP Pilates is the answer to many people’s search for a functional ‘feel good’ workout.
The class is fast paced, but importantly LOW impact. Therefore, you will increase your heart rate safely whilst burning fat and building lean muscle mass. The class also uses light hand weights, which improve bone health.
Pilates exercises will help you develop a strong “core,” or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Pilates improves flexibility and increases muscle strength and tone, it also improves concentration, body awareness and stress management. Arguably the most important health benefit received from Pilates is all about good posture and the calming self-confidence boost that comes with it. What Pilates classes are there?
Pilates Matwork Classes
The most popular form of Pilates is matwork. Matwork is a more traditional form of Pilates, which as it has been developed has incorporated the use of equipment such as balls, stretch bands, foam rollers or magic circles.
High Intensity Power Pilates
HIP Pilates is a more dynamic form of Pilates that combines the precision and focus of a traditional Pilates session with the dynamic energy of a
Attending regular Pilates classes can help you develop good postural habits and a strong core. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured. Flexibility can be achieved only when all muscles are uniformly developed.
Pilates helps to make your movements more efficient and body awareness will help to ensure you do not push your body beyond its endurance.
Pilates is for life and can be life changing, so join a Pilates class now!
