ACCREDITATION & TEAM APPRECIATION

I want to take a moment to express how proud I am of all the work happening in preparation for accreditation

Working toward accreditation has truly elevated the way we operate across functions and homes. It has raised the bar and positioned our team on a different level compared to other homes You should be proud of what you ’ ve accomplished

That said, we shouldn’t celebrate just yet. The Accreditation Survey is scheduled for April, and we need to ensure we are fully prepared and presenting our absolute best This is our opportunity to showcase not just what we do, but how well we do it

I also want to acknowledge the tremendous effort our leadership team has been putting in. I know you feel it too - in the policies, processes, and operational guidance being rolled out All of this is designed to help us build bigger and better outcomes as we work together Over the years, my focus has always been on one thing: building a happy and competent team, guided by systems rather than individuals for decision-making. We are gradually creating that. The memos and policies you see are meant to establish structure that guides us and our teams

One area that came up in the Global Workforce Employee Survey was burnout, cited by 38 4% of our team members as a concern. I will be sending out a short survey to better understand what may be contributing to this At the same time, I want to create an open space for discussion - please feel free to talk with your home leadership or send a note to People & Culture (P&C) with your thoughts, concerns, or ideas

I also want to remind you about the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which is free and provides resources ranging from finance and health to well-being and relationships I strongly encourage everyone to make use of it

OTHER NEWS

Pianist and composer Danny Carroll recently played two of our homes (Andrews of Stratford and Andrews of Charlottetown). Danny is an accomplished musician from Winnipeg, Man Our residents loved his performances, which blended jazz favourites, famous pieces from acclaimed musicals as well as a few of his own compositions

Chair yoga is a regular part of fitness programming at Andrews of Charlottetown. Led by activity director Jackie, it’s an excellent way to introduce movement and is something most residents can do, regardless of their mobility
