Commissioned by and dedicated to violinist Lilit Hartunian, Soliloquy for Solo Violin is a single movement work with a duration of 11 minutes and is a musical reaction to the experience living through the Covid 19 global pandemic. Divided into three sections, the first part represents the feeling of helplessness, disconnectness and isolation from one life and community. Virtousic in nature the second section with its changing emotions and tempos connects into the anger, sadness and frustration that was experienced once we realized that Covid 19 was not going away anytime. The third section represented by a wild dance, shows renewed strength and determination to live life to its fullest in a changed world no matter what the consequences.
