Journalism and digital marketing are not opposing worlds they are two disciplines that, when well combined, give life to content that informs, connects, and positions. This portfolio reflects years of work, constant learning, and projects that prove that words, when used strategically, have the power to move audiences and generate results.

About Me

I am Andrea Méndez, a journalist with a degree in Social Communication, specializing in Print Journalism and SEO writing. I am passionate about telling stories that are useful to people and, at the same time, discoverable by them. I believe in well-researched content, written with clarity and always crafted with the reader in mind.

My Experience

For over 5 years I have worked as Content Manager at Hurtado Deals, where I led editorial projects focused on the Mexican market. This experience allowed me to develop a strategic vision for digital content — managing teams, planning editorial calendars, and creating search-engine-optimized pieces.

MyVision

Purposeful content. I believe in journalism as a tool of real value. Every piece I write aims to be useful, clear, and honest with the reader, without sacrificing quality for speed.

Strategy over intuition. Good content is not a coincidence. Behind every text lies research, data analysis, and a deep understanding of the audience and the market it targets.

Constant adaptation. The digital landscape changes every day — and that excites me. I stay in continuous learning to always be one step ahead of trends, tools, and formats.

Measurable impact. Publishing is not enough for me — what happens afterward matters. I aim for every project I lead to generate concrete results, whether in traffic, rankings, or engagement.

La Silla Rota Selección

La Silla Rota Selección was an editorial project within one of Mexico's most important digital media outlets, focused on smart shopping content and consumer recommendations. As a web writer for the project, I was responsible for creating SEO-optimized articles that helped readers make better purchasing decisions — comparing products, identifying deals, and analyzing market trends.

This project allowed me to combine journalistic rigor with user-oriented writing and organic positioning, publishing content under the editorial standards of a major national media outlet, adapting each piece to the tone, audience, and commercial objectives of the project.

MEGAdescuentos

MEGAdescuentos was a community platform specializing in online coupons and deals for the Mexican market. My involvement in this project covered the full content cycle: from designing the editorial strategy through to publication and generating reports for partner brands.

I developed the entire static content architecture for the site, including store and category pages, ensuring each one was SEO-optimized and offered clear, useful information to the user. In parallel, I managed the ongoing verification and updating of active discounts and coupons, guaranteeing the platform's reliability for its community.

Jdescuentos

Jdescuentos was the Chilean extension of the MEGAdescuentos model — and one of my most significant professional challenges. Adapting a content strategy to a new country meant much more than a change of audience: it meant learning a different market from scratch, with its own brands, consumer habits, expressions, and cultural references.

I managed the full content cycle once again: strategy, static store content creation, discount verification, and brand reporting. The real learning, however, was in adaptability — researching the Chilean user, adjusting tone and editorial approach, and making sure the content felt natural and relevant in that context.

Consultas El Universal

Working for El Universal, one of Mexico's most recognized and influential media outlets, was a turning point in my career. Consultas El Universal is a platform specializing in government procedures, tax services, and civic queries — a completely new niche that demanded deep adaptation in both language and informational precision.

The main challenge was mastering content where clarity and accuracy are non-negotiable: readers arrive with specific needs and expect reliable answers. This pushed me to research thoroughly, cross-check official sources, and translate complex information into accessible, useful, and well-ranked texts.

Thankyoufor makingithere

Every project in this portfolio represents not just work, but a lesson learned, a challenge overcome, and a new way of understanding digital content. Over the years I have confirmed that journalism and SEO are not separate destinations — they are the same path, walked with judgment, curiosity, and commitment.

If you are looking for someone who understands both strategy and storytelling, who knows how to adapt to new markets and niches without losing the editorial essence, and who approaches every project with the same rigor as a journalistic story, I would love to be part of your team. I am available for new projects, collaborations, and conversations worth having.
