Protagonismo andaluz
Andalusian prominence
Spanish golf continues to deliver excellent news. One of the most outstanding stories has an Andalusian flavor and a name of its own: Ángel Hidalgo. The man from Málaga delivered a brilliant performance at the US Open, where, in his first major appearance, he was the only Spanish player to make the cut, confirming that his progress already places him among the players destined to shape the immediate future of Spanish golf.
Andalusia has also once again been in the spotlight with the celebration of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation’s Gala of Honors, a well-deserved recognition of those who contribute to the growth and prestige of our sport, and with another edition of the 54th Golf Andalucía tournament at Valderrama. The Cádiz course once again proved itself one of the world’s great golf venues, while the future of the circuit beyond 2027 remains uncertain. Our San Miguel XVI Andalucía Golf Challenge Costa del Sol Destination Dominican Republic by Globalia has already passed the halfway point of the season, and in this issue, we present the exclusive trip that the Circuit winners, along with a select group of guests, will enjoy at the end of October.
We also cover the 35th anniversary celebration of Holiday Golf, a company that, for three and a half decades, has become a true strategic partner for golf course pros. We hope you enjoy this new edition of the magazine.

PASSION PERSONIFIED
Tyrrell Hatton has become one of the most recognizable British golfers of his generation. His career combines major victories, outstanding performances on the biggest stages of world golf, and a personality that breaks with the traditional image of a player who is always calm and quiet.
Hatton hasn’t just won tournaments: he has built his own identity based on competitive intensity, emotional honesty, and an enormous capacity to overcome pressure. Since turning professional in 2011, the Englishman has accumulated titles on various tours, including the former European Tour, the PGA Tour, and later the LIV Golf League. However, there is one outstanding goal that continues to define his career: winning one of the four major championships.
Born in England in 1991, Hatton turned professional after excelling in amateur categories. His early years were dedicated to consolidating his game and demonstrating that he could compete against more experienced players.
His first major international victory, the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, was much more than a title: it was confirmation that he was ready to compete at the highest level.
The definitive leap came in 2016, when he achieved his first major international victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. In a very special setting, with historic courses like St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns, Hatton dominated the tournament and won by four strokes. That triumph was much more than a title: it was confirmation that he was ready to compete at the highest level. A year later, he triumphed again in the same tournament, proving that his previous victory had been no fluke. In 2017, he also completed an extraordinary season with a win at the Italian Open, one of the most important events on the European circuit.
That period established Hatton as one of the most prominent players in European golf and began to consistently place him among the best in the world.
One of the most important aspects of Hatton’s career has been his performance

In 2019, he achieved another significant victory at the Turkish Airlines Open. The win had a dramatic element: Hatton needed a playoff to overcome a group of rivals and confirmed his mental fortitude in close finishes.
But the most important year of his first phase came in 2020. In October, he won the BMW PGA Championship, one of the most prestigious titles on the European circuit. He won by four strokes thanks to a solid final round and confirmed his status as a star on the continent.
That same year he also achieved one of the greatest successes of his career: his first victory in the United States.
THE PGA TOUR CONQUEST
Making the leap to American golf is one of the biggest challenges for any international player. Hatton accomplished this in March 2020 by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The victory at Bay Hill was especially significant because he overcame a field of exceptional caliber. Hatton finished with a narrow advantage over Marc

Leishman and secured his first PGA Tour victory. It was a demonstration that his game could also work on the most demanding American courses.
The victory also reinforced a characteristic that has been a constant throughout his career: Hatton tends to perform better when the challenge increases. Difficult courses, wind, pressure, and close finishes seem to suit his competitive personality.
HIS TITLES AND WINNING RECORD
Throughout his professional career, Hatton has accumulated numerous victories on various courses. His record, in addition to his two individual victories at LIV Golf (Nashville 2024 and Andalucía 2026) and his PGA Tour win (Arnold Palmer Invitational 2020), includes eight victories on the DP World Tour, with prestigious tournaments such as the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship (2016, 2017, and 2024), the Italian Open 2017, the Turkish Airlines Open 2019, the BMW PGA Championship 2020, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2021, and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025. Besides these individual triumphs, Hatton has been a key player for Europe in the Ryder Cup, representing the European team in four editions, and being part of winning teams in three of them.
A curious anecdote involving Hatton and this intercontinental tournament occurred last year when he learned he had made the team captained by Luke Donald.

Accompanied by Jon Rahm, who had just won another LIV Golf tournament, Hatton enjoyed half a dozen glasses of wine at dinner, followed by a double gin and tonic, a margarita, glasses of Amaretto and strawberry vodka, and a hazelnut-flavored cocktail.
The English golfer fell asleep at the table, and when he was woken up, practically all his companions had already left.
He went back to the hotel and collapsed into bed, but after a while, he woke up vomiting on his back.
“And I fell back asleep in that position, and when I woke up, I vomited all over my arms, all over my shirt.
The PGA Tour victory reinforced a characteristic that has accompanied Hatton throughout his career: he tends to perform better when the difficulty increases.
I got out of bed, went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and felt nauseous in bed. I don’t know how I set my alarm for a flight hours later.”
He described his awakening as horrible. “Having to clean that up… I ended up calling Emily (his wife) and telling her I didn’t know what to do. I rushed to make the room as presentable as possible. So I took off all my clothes and left some money with a note: ‘I’m so sorry, I was sick in bed all night. Please throw it away.’ I feel like I did the right thing, but obviously I felt pretty bad.”
Hatton shared all this at a press conference

Open y The Open Championship.

THE MAJORS, AN UNFINISHED TASK
Tyrrell Hatton’s biggest unfinished task is winning the four majors: the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and The Open Championship. Although he hasn’t won any yet, his results show he has the ability to compete for them. His best result in a major was a fourth-place finish at the 2015 U.S. Open, while he has also achieved notable positions in other majors, including a top-five finish at The Open in 2016 and strong performances at the Masters.

pressure. Hatton has demonstrated many of these qualities, but he is still searching for that perfect Sunday that will allow him to lift one of the most important trophies in sports.
THE CHARACTER THAT DIVIDES OPINIONS
If there is one thing that sets Hatton apart from many contemporary players is his approach to golf. His gestures of frustration, his internal monologues, and his reactions after a bad shot are all part of his persona.
Some fans appreciate this authenticity because it reveals the emotional reality of competing at the highest level. Others believe he should control his impulses more. But precisely this intensity is an essential part of his personality as a player.

is full of emotion, and that energy also shines through in his best moments: when he celebrates a crucial putt, when he overcomes a difficult situation, or when he fights until the very last shot.
THE LIV GOLF ERA AND A NEW CHAPTER
In 2024, Hatton joined LIV Golf as a member of Legion XIII, the team led by Jon Rahm. The move marked a new stage in his career and a new way of competing on the international golf scene.
His first major victory on this circuit came at LIV Golf Nashville in June of that year, where he dominated the tournament with authority and added to his list of professional titles. He finished six strokes ahead of the runnerup, his fellow countryman Sam Horsfield, and seven third-place finishers, a top-tier trio: Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Joaquín Niemann.
Hatton also had very good performances that same year at the LIV Golf Andalucía, where he finished third, one stroke behind the winner Sergio García, who won in a playoff against Anirban Lahiri, and at the LIV Golf United Kingdom, where he finished second, one stroke behind champion Rahm and tied with Niemann and Cameron Smith.
After an inconsistent 2025 season in individual competition, with fifth
Although he hasn’t won a Grand Slam yet, his results show he has the ability to compete for them. His best result was fourth place at the 2015 US Open.
and sixth place finishes as his best results, this year he is registering better results in this regard, with three top-10 finishes before lifting the championship trophy at Valderrama.
As for team victories, with the all-powerful Legion XIII squad led by Rahm, Hatton had accumulated a total of eight up to this year’s LIV Golf Andalucía, one in 2024, five in 2025, and two so far this season.
And there could be more, because the Legionnaires have finished second four times. This year, Legion XIII is posting spectacular results, with two wins, one second place, three thirds, one fourth, and one fifth. Their worst result was eleventh in the Korea tournament.
Despite the changes in the world of professional golf, Hatton’s main sporting goal remains winning a major and cementing his place as one of the great English players of his era.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF GOLFER
Tyrrell Hatton doesn’t belong to the group of players who have dominated world golf for years, but he is part of a generation that has brought personality and competitiveness to the sport.
His career demonstrates that success doesn’t depend solely on power or technical perfection. It also depends on the ability to fight, adapt, and respond when the pressure mounts.
With more than a decade as a professional, multiple international victories, and experience on golf’s biggest stages, Hatton has built a world-class career. Only one piece is missing to complete the story: lifting a major trophy.
That challenge remains the ultimate goal for a player who has made intensity his hallmark and who has proven, tournament after tournament, that he belongs among the elite of world golf. ■
HATTON AND LEGION XIII REACH THE SUMMIT AT VALDERRAMA
The 2026 edition of the LIV Golf Andalucía once again made the legendary Real Club Valderrama the center of attention for international golf. From June 4th to 7th, the Cádiz course hosted, for the fourth consecutive year, one of the most emblematic events on the LIV calendar, consolidating a relationship that has established Andalusia as one of the great stages of contemporary professional golf.

What began a few years ago as an ambitious undertaking by the new league financed by Saudi Arabia has become one of the most anticipated events on the calendar. Valderrama brings prestige, history, and a level of competition that few courses can match. For LIV Golf, having this venue is a mark of sporting legitimacy; for Andalusia, it represents an extraordinary platform for tourism and economic promotion.
To speak of Valderrama is to speak of one of the most respected courses in the world. Host of the historic 1997 Ryder Cup, venue for numerous international tournaments, and considered for years the best course in continental Europe, the Cádiz club once again presented a formidable challenge for many of the best players on the planet.
The 2026 edition also introduced an important change: the tournament was played in June, just before the US Open, allowing players to prepare for one of the major tournaments on the calendar on a course that demands maximum precision from tee to green. The competition brought together 57 players distributed across 13 teams, in addition to several invited participants. The format maintained the combination of individual qualification and ➠

TYRRELL HATTON CONQUISTA VALDERRAMA
team competition that characterizes LIV Golf, with simultaneous tee times on all holes to guarantee continuous excitement.
A COURSE THAT OFFERS NO RESPITE
If anything was clear during the week, it was that Valderrama continues to be the main attraction. While other courses on the LIV circuit favor low scores and aggressive golf, the Andalusian course demands patience, strategy, and impeccable execution.
The narrow fairways surrounded by cork oaks, the fast greens, and the constant influence of the Strait of Gibraltar wind once again tested the players. During the first round, only fourteen golfers managed to finish under par, a figure that reflects the enormous difficulty of the course.
Even figures accustomed to dominating the circuit acknowledged the complexity of the course. Jon Rahm emphasized that playing aggressively rarely pays off at

Valderrama and stressed the need to be extremely precise with every shot. This difficulty is precisely one of the reasons why players, fans, and organizers consider this tournament one of the most prestigious of the year. Winning at Valderrama continues to hold a special value in professional golf.
Participation once again lived up to expectations. Among the players present were prominent figures such as Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Joaquín Niemann, and Sergio García, a true local idol and one of the players with the best record on this course.
The Spanish presence was once again one of the tournament’s main attractions. In addition to Rahm and García, the public was able to closely follow the performances of David Puig and the other two Spanish representatives, Luis Masaveu and Josele Ballester, who found Valderrama an ideal setting to compete in front of their home crowd.
Throughout the week, the stands saw a remarkable influx of spectators, confirming the growing interest that LIV Golf is generating in Spain and reinforcing Andalusia’s role as a strategic venue on the international calendar.
On the sporting front, the star of the show was Tyrrell Hatton. The Englishman delivered a solid and consistent performance to achieve a highly prestigious victory on one of the most challenging courses on the tour.
Hatton led the leaderboard from the first round and withstood the pressure exerted by several contenders throughout the weekend. Among them, Jon Rahm stood out, once again demonstrating his extraordinary competitive spirit and remaining in contention for the title until the final holes.

The victory also held special significance for the British player, as it came just days after he became a father. In a tournament where every mistake could prove decisive, Hatton remained calm and capitalized on the opportunities the course presented to secure one of the most important victories of his LIV Golf career.
THREE PROVIDENTIAL BIRDIES IN THE FINAL SIX HOLES
Hatton arrived at Valderrama as a new father and left as a champion. The Englishman carded a 70 in the final round to finish with an 11-under-par total and claim victory at the 2026 LIV Golf Andalucía,

his first LIV Golf title since his win in Nashville in 2024. Hatton was 2 over par after 12 holes, but made crucial birdies on the 13th, 16th, and 17th holes to halt Rahm’s spectacular comeback and seal the victory at Real Club Valderrama.
“To be honest, I figured that no matter how today went, tonight I’d be home, walk in, and find a crying newborn, and I’d be changing diapers,” Hatton said. “That’s going to happen anyway. I’m really looking forward to getting home to Emily and our little one.”
His teammate Rahm gave him every reason to be nervous. The Legion XIII captain carded the best round of the day, an outstanding 67 (4 under par), to finish at 9 under par alone in second place. It was exactly the kind of play the Spanish crowd had hoped to see on Sunday, and for a moment it looked like the gap might be completely closed.

“Obviously, I’ve had a fantastic week myself, and I’m really happy for Tyrrell, who just became a father a little over two weeks ago, has his little girl, and is a proud dad,” Rahm said. “With how good he is, if someone has to beat me, there are very few people I’d be happy for, and he’s one of them. He earned it fair and square, and I’m happy he won and helped the team as well.”

The double victory for the two Legion XIII teammates at the top of the individual standings was enough to secure the team title as well. Legion XIII finished with a cumulative score of 7 under par to claim their second consecutive team victory at Valderrama. It was a week of absolute dominance for the team on both fronts, a result that propels them to second place in the overall team standings for the season.
“It feels really good,” Rahm added. “Obviously, this type of golf course suits our game. The pin shot is everyone’s strong point, and on a course like this, that’s exactly what was required. Clearly, we did well.”
Abraham Ancer was the week’s breakout star, closing the tournament with a 68 (3 under par) to finish alone in third place at 8 under par, his best result of the season at LIV Golf.
Sergio Garcia, winner of the tournament in 2024, gave it his all. The Fireballs GC captain turned in a final round of 70 to finish fourth at 7 under par, unable to catch Hatton. Garcia’s week at his beloved Valderrama was, in many ways, a true reflection of what this course means to him. He was solid and composed from start to finish. Garcia has now finished in the top ten 18 times in his 19 professional appearances at this course, a record for consistency at a single course in the world of sports.

Thomas Detry, who had held his spot for much of the week, stumbled on the final day with a 74 to drop to a tie for fifth (T5) at 5 under par. This was enough to give Joaquín Niemann the breathing room he needed. The Torque GC captain finished the week at 3 over par, but managed to retain his LIV Golf exemption to the The Open Chamiponship by holding onto third place in the standings, behind only Rahm and DeChambeau.
A SPECTACULAR PRIZE MONEY PURSE
As is customary at LIV Golf, the tournament’s financial scale once again drew attention. The event boasted a total prize purse of $30 million, divided between the individual competition ($20 million) and

Tyrell earned a total of $4,750,000 for his double victory: individual and team, while Rahm pocketed $3 million: $2,250,000 for finishing second individually and $750,000 for winning the team title.
These figures continue to set LIV Golf apart from other professional tours and are one of the main reasons why some of the world’s biggest stars participate in the competition. ■

You only recently started playing golf. What led you to take the step from promoting this segment to experiencing it as a player? Out of professional responsibility, because I wanted to understand the needs and motivations of golfers from a closer perspective and better understand the experience we offer as a destination. Also, because golf allows you to spend many hours with clients and colleagues in a very different environment, where valuable conversations and relationships arise. And, in addition, because it was a sport that had always attracted me since I discovered the Ryder Cup at Valderrama when I was very young.

The Costa del Sol has been an international benchmark for decades. What do you think continues to differentiate the destination from other emerging competitors?
The Costa del Golf’s leadership is the result of decades of collaborative work between institutions and companies in the sector. What sets us apart is the concentration and quality of our courses, the level of service, air connectivity, the climate that allows for year-round play, and an extraordinary range of hotels and other amenities. given you a deeper understanding of the true impact golf has on the region?
I have always been aware of golf’s strategic value, but since assuming this responsibility, I have been particularly impressed by the level of collaboration between companies, municipalities, organizations, and the federation. Also, the international recognition achieved by the destination and seeing how golf acts as a true economic engine and a driver of growth for the entire province.
5
There’s a lot of talk about golf as a tourism engine. If you had to explain in a few words what this sport really contributes to the economy, what would you highlight?
The generation of more than 1.4 billion euros in the destination, 13,000 direct jobs, 2 million rounds of golf, and more than 700,000 golfers a year. In addition to the deseasonalizing effect of playing golf and golfers’ spending on complementary services such as accommodation, food, shopping, and leisure activities.

Now that you know golf from the inside, what has surprised you most about this sport that you perhaps didn’t imagine before you started playing?
It’s extremely technical and requires a great deal of concentration throughout the entire round, especially in how you plan each hole and are able to execute it.
7
Personal traits are also revealed on the golf course. What values do you think this sport transmits, and which ones would you like to incorporate into your daily professional life?
Camaraderie and patience between players with high and low handicaps, as well as the positivity of focusing on the next shot. From my personal experience, I feel it’s been the other way around; both of these professional qualities have been very useful to me when playing golf.
8
Getting into player territory: what is your favorite shot, and which shot do you fear the most?
My handicap is still too high to have a favorite shot! The one I fear most right now is the bunker tee shot, as I haven’t mastered it yet. The shots you’re most excited about when you’re starting out are a long drive down the fairway and sinking a long putt on the green.
9
If you had to invite someone who has never played here, how would you describe in one sentence why the Costa del Sol continues to be the premier European golf destination?
Welcome to a destination that will captivate you for life, where you’ll always find a new challenge across its 72 courses.. ■

GOLF AMONG MARSHES, THE ATLANTIC AND NATURE IN ITS PUREST FORM
There are courses that are remembered for one or two memorable holes. Others for their design. Some for their scenery. And then there are those courses that achieve something much more difficult: giving the player the feeling of playing in a truly unique place. The North Course at El Rompido belongs to this category.

Golf El Rompido is also unique in the region: it is the only golf complex in the province of Huelva with 36 holes—South Course and North Course—in the same location, sharing a hotel and clubhouse, and surrounded by nature, something increasingly rare that permits a constant sense of spaciousness and connection with the natural environment.
The first to open was the South Course, inaugurated in 2003, a more forgiving course for all types of players, flat and very easy to walk. Three years later, in June 2006, the North Course opened, further raising the level of competition at the complex and giving it a completely different character. Both courses bear the signature of Spanish designer Álvaro Arana, one of the architects who has best understood how to interpret the landscape of southern Spain and transform it into an active part of the game, and a worthy successor to Javier Arana, considered among the best designers in Spain of all time.

GOLF Y MENOPAUSIA
GOLF AND MENOPAUSE THE SWING OF CHANGE: WHY GOLF IS THE BEST ALLY FOR WOMEN OVER 50
Menopause isn’t the end; it’s actually the beginning of a new stage that requires a “swing adjustment” in our lives. For many women, turning 50 is accompanied by a series of physical and emotional changes that can generate uncertainty. However, what if I told you that the golf course is the best gym, the best therapy session, and the healthiest social club you could find?
As a physiotherapist and golf instructor, I’ve seen how this sport transforms lives. It’s not just about getting the ball in the hole; it’s about how each shot helps you rebuild your strength, bone density, and peace of mind.
LONG-DURATION, LOW-INTENSITY EXERCISE
One of the biggest myths is that to stay fit after 50, you have to suffer in a gym with high-intensity exercises that often punish our joints. Golf is the perfect example of LISS (Low Intensity Steady State) exercise. An 18-hole round is equivalent to walking between 8 and 10 kilometers. PHOTO 1.
THE BENEFITS OF LONG-TERM EXERCISE

the redistribution of body fat that occurs during menopause.
2. Cardiovascular Health: Keeping the heart active for 4 consecutive hours at a moderate pace strengthens the myocardium without the oxidative stress of high-impact sports.
3. Protected Joints: As a low-impact sport, it protects the knees and hips, which is vital when estrogen levels drop and synovial fluid decreases.
THE SHIELD AGAINST OSTEOPOROSIS
The biggest concern at this stage is bone loss. This is where the swing and the game of golf work their scientific magic. PHOTO 2.
Wolff’s Law tells us that bone strengthens in response to load. The rotational motion of the swing, along with the weight we transfer from one leg to the other, generates healthy micromechanical stresses in the femur, hip, and spine. These stimuli tell your body, “We need stronger bones here.”
In addition, carrying the bag (or even pushing the cart) and walking on uneven terrain improves balance and proprioception, drastically reducing the risk of falls and fractures in the future.
HORMONAL BALANCE: SUN AND OUTDOORS
Menopause can disrupt our “internal clock.” Playing golf exposes us to natural light, which is crucial for two reasons:
Vitamin D: Essential for calcium absorption in your bones. Without sun, there are no strong bones, no matter how much calcium you take. PHOTO 3.
Sleep Regulation: Exposure to sunlight during the day helps regulate melatonin, improving sleep quality, which is often affected by night sweats.
GAME PSYCHOLOGY: MINDFULNESS ON THE GREEN
On a psychological level, menopause can bring irritability or brain
• Hidratación Estratégica: Bebe agua incluso si no tienes sed.
fog. Golf is an exercise in mindfulness. The moment you stand in front of the ball, the outside world disappears. Only you, the club, and the target exist.
In conclusion, if you’re thinking about picking up the club again or starting from scratch, here are my recommendations as a “Golf PhysioInstructor”:
• Warm-up is Non-Negotiable: Before the first tee, dedicate 10 minutes to mobilizing your shoulders and hips. During menopause, connective tissues are stiffer; give them a warning before demanding speed.
• Strengthen Your Core: Not just for aesthetics. A strong abdomen protects your lower back from the twisting motions of the swing.
• Strategic Hydration: Drink water even if you’re not thirsty.
Hydration is key to maintaining the elasticity of your tendons.
Remember that every time you walk down the fairway, you’re not just chasing a ball; you’re walking toward a stronger, healthier, and more confident version of yourself.
“Golf doesn’t ask you to be eternally young, it asks you to be consistent. And consistency is the superpower that women over 50 have to cultivate both on and off the golf course.”
If you want to improve your swing pain-free or need a physical health program tailored to your stage of life, I’m here to support you. ■

David CAMBRONERO
DIRECTOR DE DESARROLLO DE PXG EN ESPAÑA
“SOMOS
“WE ARE A BRAND, IN TERMS OF PRICE, MUCH MORE COMPETITIVE COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE ELITE BRANDS”
Holiday Golf, led by Stefan Tjelander, CEO and President of the company, is the exclusive distributor of PXG for Spain and 11 other countries. David Cambronero, a professional with extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the golf equipment industry, specializing in commercial strategy, technology, and fitting, heads the brand’s development and serves as Brand Manager.

PXG came to the market with an unusual proposition in the golf sector: develop the best possible product without imposing budget limits by leading Research, Development and Innovation with industry-leading materials. This positioning quickly made the brand an object of desire for many players and placed it in the most exclusive segment of the market.
With international growth and the consequent increase in production volumes, the brand has managed to bring its prices closer to those of other premium manufacturers without giving up its differential character: clubs conceived through technology, innovation, personalization and performance adapted to each golfer.
We spoke with David about the growth of PXG, the change in the way we purchase equipment and the challenges of building a brand with its own personality in the competitive golf industry.
PXG was born with a very ambitious idea: to develop the best possible club without budget restrictions. Is that philosophy still the brand’s DNA today?
Our commitment to these areas remains intact and this continues to be the DNA of the brand, manufacturing the best golf clubs with the best materials, technology and the most advanced innovation on the market.
For years PXG was perceived as a very exclusive brand with prices clearly above the market. What has changed so that today it competes on price with other premium brands while maintaining that special positioning?
It is still a very exclusive brand, mainly due to the investment in R&D&I by our engineers. But economies of scale have allowed us
“PXG remains a very exclusive brand, mainly due to the investment in research and development by our engineers.”
to adjust our prices to make them more affordable and get as many golfers as possible playing our products. With this volume, production costs have been balanced and we are a brand, in terms of price, much more competitive compared to the rest of the elitist brands, offering a superior quality product.
What would you say is the element that most differentiates a PXG club from other big brands: design, materials, technology or manufacturing process?
The materials and technology that are in them. For example,

in the new GEN 8 we have released a totally innovative product where we have moved the central weight of tungsten in the cavity – very well known in the vast majority of brands, even in our previous generations – to two weights at the end, toe-heel, which in a fitting environment allows us to work and offer the ball flight desired by each player, as well as adjust the most beneficial swingweight for each golfer.
In the case of the driver, I will give you another example. Engineers have worked on a concept called Frequency Tuned Face, which is tuning the frequency of the face of the driver. They have studied the frequency in hertz at which a golf ball compresses and have developed the face of our driver so that it works at exactly the same hertz as that ball compression, thus maximizing energy transfer and generating higher ball speeds for greater distance and less dispersion.
One of the concepts most associated with PXG is the fitting. Why do you advocate that the player should try and configure the material before purchasing it?
It is essential. For many years, brands have done a very good job of making consumers aware of the importance of having clubs tailored to them, and I don’t think there is any consumer today who doesn’t do it that way. It is very important. I always give the example of: for the same price, you buy shoes in your size.
The fitting process is the beginning of an improvement in enjoyment and results on the field.
Explain to us how the PXG sales process really works. Does the player buy a standard model or is the club specifically manufactured after a fitting?
“What most differentiates a PXG club from other major brands are the materials and technology used in them.”
Eric Cole
“No tenemos palos fabricados, almacenados y montados.

We do not have clubs manufactured, nor stored, nor assembled. Each set is made to order after fitting.
Fitting was traditionally associated with high-level players. Who gets more real benefit from a custom fit: a low handicapper or an average amateur?
I insist, we all walk better with our shoe size.
How are you developing the distribution of PXG in your markets? Do you prioritize growing the number of points of sale or consolidating a network of specialized centers?
Consolidate a network of centers. We are strategically establishing a PXG network with clients with specialized fitting centers in the territories we are developing so that in all of them golfers can come to experience our process of clubs adjusted to their needs and better understand the benefits of PXG.
What are PXG and Holiday Golf’s short- and medium-term goals?
Primarily, to raise brand awareness. As I mentioned before, it’s already the fifth largest golf brand in the United States. Our goal, the goal of Bob Parsons—the company’s founder and owner—is to be number one, which will take time, dedication, effort, and investment. And that’s the same goal and process for all the markets where we operate. In our territories, the brand is less well-known than in the United States, so our main objective is to make it known to consumers.
There are a number of high-level players currently using PXG. Can you name a few of them?
Because of the impact it had at the last Spanish Open, winner
Marco Penge. Jake Knapp and Eric Cole in the United States, as well as South Africans Bezuidenhout and Potgieter, among many others. On the women’s side, it’s worth highlighting that in the last month we’ve achieved three LPGA victories thanks to Céline Boutier, Gina Kim, and Lauren Olivares. Other top players include Olivia Cowan, Megan Khang,
“We don’t have clubs manufactured, stored, and assembled. In other words, each set is made to order after the fitting.”
and Christina Kim, among others who are playing and wearing the brand. Let’s not forget that we have a very important apparel division that’s currently undergoing significant development.
And one last question: if a player has never tried PXG, what would you recommend they do to truly understand what the brand represents?
I’d suggest they come for a fitting. We’re currently running a series of open fitting days, which we’re promoting through our client network and on Holiday Golf’s social media channels. I would encourage them to simply come and try out the clubs and experience the fitting process. We have head and shaft models to suit all kinds of player preferences and needs. This is my recommendation; after many years in the industry, I’ve never experienced a fitting process as satisfying as PXG’s. ■

A GOLF GETAWAY THAT HAS IT ALL
Some destinations are reason enough to go golfing. And then there are those that, in addition to the course itself, offer a complete experience capable of filling several days of travel. Montecastillo and Jerez clearly belong to this second category.

Just minutes from the historic center of Jerez, the Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Sports Resort has all the ingredients for a top-tier stay: a five-star hotel, first-rate sports facilities, wellness, gastronomy, and one of the most renowned golf courses in Spain.
But it’s not just golf; the hotel boasts a fully equipped gym, a large outdoor pool, and a fantastic 1,400 m² spa that includes a complete hydrotherapy circuit. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, opened in 1992 and considered one of the top ten golf courses in Spain, Montecastillo is a spacious, elegant, and strategically laid-out course with generous fairways, bunkers that demand decisive play, and a varied layout that allows both amateur golfers to enjoy themselves and the most competitive players to test their skills. Its signature character is particularly evident in the variety of shots it requires and its excellent integration into the gently rolling landscape of the Jerez region.
The course is also part of the recent history of European golf. Five consecutive editions of the prestigious Volvo Masters, which closed the European Tour season, were played here, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez’s victory in 1999 remains especially etched in the memory of Spanish golf, one of those triumphs that helped solidify Montecastillo’s international standing.

One of the aspects that most surprises visitors today is the course’s exceptionally well-maintained condition. The addition of state-of-the-art Bermuda grass greens provides fast, uniform, and stable surfaces year-round, with speeds and roll quality typical of top-level competitive courses.
Everything is designed for the player’s enjoyment. The golf reception, housed in a well-stocked pro shop, is just steps from the hotel, with the driving range directly opposite and the first tee to its left. The course is highly strategic and made more challenging by the length of some holes, which demand powerful shots. The undulating terrain, the masterful placement of the bunkers— always a hallmark of Nicklaus-designed courses—and the variety of holes make the course enjoyable and captivating, always inviting you to return.
The final round is breathtaking; the combination of holes 16 and 17 is the perfect prelude to the legendary 18th, with its 60-meter elevation of the tee above the fairway, the hotel on the right, and a vast lake on the left that accompanies the entire hole.
But the experience doesn’t end at the 18th hole. Jerez offers an added value that’s hard to match. Its gastronomy, among the most authentic and appealing in Andalusia; the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most iconic wineries; the emotion and artistry of flamenco in venues brimming with character; the unique spectacle of Jerez’s equestrian tradition; and the proximity of the Jerez Circuit—especially vibrant during major motorcycle races—make this trip a truly satisfying experience for both golfers and their companions. Montecastillo is not just a great golf course. It’s an invitation to enjoy Jerez from a privileged perspective. ■

ASECO’s new dry, eco-friendly toilets represent a particularly attractive solution for golf courses and other sports facilities by eliminating three of the main limitations of conventional toilets: the need for connections to the electrical grid, water supply, and sewage system. Furthermore, they do not use chemicals, guaranteeing hygiene, comfort, and significant savings in maintenance.
Based on an autonomous evaporation and passive ventilation system, they operate without flushing, effectively control odors, and require minimal maintenance. The absence of utility connections allows the toilets to be installed in locations where it was previously technically or economically unfeasible, without trenches or costly civil works, and respecting the natural environment of the course. Installation takes only a few days, minimizing disruption and without interfering with the club’s normal activities.
ASECO offers four models designed to blend seamlessly into any landscape, adapting
to both small courses and large resorts and sports complexes.

GARIA MONACO: A PREMIUM BUGGY
The Garia Monaco breaks with the traditional image of the buggy. Manufactured in Poland, its design and level of finish place it closer to a premium vehicle than a conventional golf cart. Its aesthetics are reminiscent of a small, high-end car, an impression that is reinforced while driving.
The model includes headlights, a power outlet, hydraulic brakes—with discs on the front axle and drums on the rear—and an automatic parking brake. One of its main advantages is that it can be registered, which expands its usability beyond private properties.
It is available with a 120 Ah or 180 Ah lithium battery, develops a power of 10 kW, and reaches a top speed of 50 km/h, with a range of up to 64 kilometers.
Another of its distinguishing features is its customization capabilities. Users can configure elements such as the seat color, chassis, and wheels. Furthermore, its interior has been designed to offer ergonomics and integrated storage solutions, promoting a stable and comfortable ride.

CLUB CAR TEMPO: THE EVOLUTION OF A CLASSIC
The Club Car Tempo continues to be one of the most sought-after models on golf courses and also one of the most popular off-course vehicles.
It’s a classic buggy, focused on efficiency, practicality, and safety. Although it’s not street legal, it’s designed for use on private property, where it offers a smooth ride and reliable range.
One of the main innovations of the new generation Tempo is its automatic parking brake, an electronic system that activates automatically when the vehicle stops, eliminating the need to manually operate the pedal.
This system is complemented by StopSmart technology, developed by Club Car, which allows for progressive and smooth braking, reducing abrupt stops and improving the driving experience.
The model also stands out for its lightweight construction thanks to a corrosion-resistant aluminum chassis. Its top speed reaches 24 km/h (15 mph). With models like Garia Mónaco, IcoCar City 3.0, and Club Car Tempo, Riversa highlights an increasingly visible trend: the buggy is no longer just a vehicle associated with golf, but a mobility solution that is beginning to find its place in residential developments, private estates, and environments where efficiency and comfort are paramount. ■

JÉSICA REYES PRESENTS HER BOOK “SMART GOLF: TRAINING TO PERFORM AND PREVENT”
On Friday, June 19th, Jésica Reyes’ book, “Smart Golf: Training to Perform and Prevent Injuries,” was presented at Higuerón Resort Hotel Gran Málaga (Fuengirola). Jésica greeted those present and gave a brief introduction to the book before joining Ismael Galancho Reina (a university professor, communicator, writer, and renowned dietitian and nutritionist who has advised, among others, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, and Enzo Fernández) for a discussion. In her greeting, she sent a special message to the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf, acknowledging their 10 years of collaboration, during which they regularly publish a highly valued section.
Following the talk, a cocktail reception was held, allowing attendees to share this special moment.
How was the book written, and what inspired it?
The book stems from Jésica Reyes’ experience as a specialized physical trainer, whose first major professional challenge was working directly with elite golfers. Based on that experience and the evolution of the sport over the last 30 years (where ball speed and distances have increased dramatically), Reyes recognized the need to apply a biopsychosocial and holistic model to golf training.
The book was conceived under the premise that golfers should train like athletes. Its development incorporates an interdisciplinary approach, unifying the terminology of physical trainers, physiotherapists, doctors, nutritionists, and sports psychologists to avoid the contradictions that often confuse athletes.
What can readers expect from this book?
Although specialized in golf, it’s a manual that anyone can benefit from, whether they play the sport or not, due to its focus on postural health and mobility, and overall well-being.
Holistic Vision: The content is not limited to traditional physical preparation;
it addresses rest, nutrition, stress and emotional management, and how the overall context affects performance.
Comprehensive Athletic Preparation: Explains how the swing (a synergistic, complex, and potentially stressful movement for the lumbar spine) requires the development of multiple abilities: coordination (intra- and
The reader will not find only theory, as the book stands out for being an extremely practical tool
Mind-Body Connection: Highlights the importance of good physical conditioning to prevent fatigue in the final holes, which directly influences concentration, heart rate control, and the psychological precision needed in the short game.
Injury Prevention: Analyzes the most common ailments (lower back in general; hand and wrist in professionals; elbow in amateurs) and offers guidelines to combat them through prior assessment and exercise.
GREAT PRACTICAL VALUE
The reader will find more than just theory. The book stands out as an extremely practical tool that includes: More than 200 exercises explained in detail with images.
Interactive QR codes in each section that redirect to software where videos of the technical execution of the exercises can be viewed.
Specific warm-up routine suggestions (with clubs, pre-gym, or pre-golf).
Personalized training: The software even allows users to request plans tailored to their individual needs.
In short, Smart Golf is presented as an indispensable guide for industry professionals, players looking to safely lower their handicap, and anyone interested in improving their posture and quality of life ■

ATALAYA NEW COURSE

all interested players.Throughout the course, attendees enjoyed the usual hospitality from San Miguel and Solán de Cabras beers, as well as various promotional initiatives developed by the circuit’s sponsors and partners.
After the competition, participants enjoyed a lively lunch at the club facilities. The star of the show was a magnificent paella that delighted all those present and served as a prelude to the awards ceremony and the traditional prize draw. The players also received numerous gifts from the tournament sponsors. Recoletas Salud Marbella Hospital, Corporat-e, and the Latte Lagoon Puerto Banús restaurant actively collaborated on the day.

The first round will be at PGA Ocean’s 4, in Playa Nueva Romana. A modern and spectacular course that combines wide open spaces with several holes along the ocean and which will have an added attraction: a couple of weeks earlier, from October 15 to 18, it will have hosted the PGA Tour Americas Finals. Campo.
TEETH OF THE DOG
La culminación golfística llegará el miércoles en Teeth of the Dog, probablemente el nombre más legendario del golf dominicano. Tras

These landscapes served as a backdrop for scenes in the film Apocalypse Now.
PUNTA ESPADA
Tuesday will be the turn of Punta Espada in Cap Cana, considered by many players to be one of the most spectacular courses in the world. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course makes the sea a constant protagonist: several holes are literally played on the ocean’s edge, and every shot unfolds amidst contrasts of rock, tropical vegetation, and turquoise water. It’s one of those courses that alone justifies a trip.
TEETH OF THE DOG
The golfing culmination will arrive on Wednesday at Teeth of the Dog, probably the most legendary name in Dominican golf. After its recent renovation and reopening in 2026,
Casa de Campo’s flagship course is once again on full display. Pete Dye created a masterpiece here where the Caribbean is a constant presence, especially in its famous oceanfront holes. For many experts, it remains the best course in the Caribbean and an essential experience for any golf enthusiast.
Thursday will be the last day to enjoy the resort, relax on the beach, or complete the Dominican experience with optional activities such as visits to traditional rum or tobacco factories before the evening transfer to the airport for the return flight to Spain. Those who haven’t yet satisfied their hunger for top-level golf will still have the opportunity to play at La Estancia, just 15 minutes from the hotel, or travel back to Punta Cana to play Corales, another of the Caribbean’s finest courses.
The return flight is in the evening, with arrival scheduled for midday on November 6th.

THE ROYAL ANDALUSIAN GOLF FEDERATION CELEBRATES ITS TRADITIONAL HONORS GALA
The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation (RFGA) held its traditional 2025-2026 Season Awards Ceremony on June 12th, an event that brought together athletes, clubs, institutions, and personalities who have contributed to the growth and prestige of Andalusian golf. The ceremony also served to pay tribute to two fundamental figures in the sport: Ángel de la Riva, former president of the RFGA and one of the great promoters of golf in Andalusia for more than three decades, and Alfredo Queipo de Llano, whose dedication left a profound mark on golf in Malaga and Andalusia.
The main protagonists of the evening were the athletes who excelled during the season. Among the most important awards were those given to the members of the Andalusian teams that won the Spanish Regional Federation Championships in the Men’s Open, Men’s Under-18, and Junior categories—successes that confirm the excellent state of Andalusian team golf.
Several players also received awards for their individual achievements. Gonzalo Baños was honored after being

crowned Spanish Men’s Absolute Champion, while Yago Horno was recognized for winning the Spanish Under-18 International Championship and finishing as runner-up in the prestigious R&A British Boys Amateur Championship. Martín Cervera was honored for his victories in the Spanish Under-16 Boys Championship and the Reid Trophy. Ignacio Valcárcel Rein, Spanish Senior Doubles Champion; Juan Quirós, Spanish Super Senior Professional Champion;

The RFGA (Royal Andalusian Golf Federation) also highlighted the sporting leadership of Andalusia, the current Spanish Inter-Regional Absolute Men’s Champion, Under-18 Men’s Champion, and Junior Champion, as well as the runnerup in the Spanish Absolute Women’s Championship.
One of the most moving moments was the presentation of the Medal of Merit in Golf to Mimi Rhodes. Having honed her skills in Andalusian golf, the player has had a brilliant season with three victories on the Ladies European Tour, the Rookie of the Year award, and her consolidation as one of the most promising talents in European golf.
The Golf Merit Award was presented to Alberto Fernández Galindo for his decisive contribution to the technological modernization of clubs and for his collaboration with the Federation for over thirty years.
In the institutional sphere, the Golf Merit Plaque was awarded to the Almerimar Golf Club, coinciding with the club’s 50th anniversary, and to the Malaga City Council, for its support of major competitions and its contribution to establishing the Costa del Sol as one of Europe’s leading golf destinations.
During the ceremony, the president of the RFGA (Royal Andalusian Golf Federation), Pablo Mansilla, highlighted that Andalusia now has over 52,900 registered players and continues to lead Spanish golf both in terms of its sporting achievements and the organization of international events. The Honors Ceremony once again highlighted the strength of Andalusian golf and the collaborative work of athletes, clubs, and institutions in maintaining Andalusia’s position as a national and international benchmark. ■
RESTAURANTE GASTROBAR
CASINO MARBELLA

Seafood flavors and Andalusian essence in the new menu by chef Agustín Román
Gastrobar Casino Marbella welcomes the season with the launch of its new menu. This time, chef Agustín Román presents a selection of dishes with a fresh perspective, prepared with the finest local ingredients. Emphasizing the Mediterranean influence, the sea takes center stage in every dish.
The new culinary offerings reflect the chef’s sensibility, reinterpreting each dish in a more avant-garde and contemporary style.
To whet the appetite in a light and harmonious way, the culinary journey begins with Ajoblanco with melon, chamomile, basil, and lime. This dish, initially intended as a salmorejo, evolved into a delicious ajoblanco that perfectly combines the sweetness of the melon with the acidity of the lime, while also providing a subtle floral aroma thanks to the fusion of chamomile and basil.
Flakes of mojama (cured tuna) introduce the necessary salty note to achieve a delicate balance among all its components. For those who enjoy a classic staple in Malaga’s taverns, the warm Russian salad with cod and piparras peppers is a must-try. This interpretation of the traditional Russian salad is inspired by a former colleague of Agustín’s, whose version was notable

for its creaminess. The chef has maintained that essence by integrating the conventional ingredients with cod and piparras peppers to give it a more personal and contemporary character. Served at room temperature so as not to interfere with the cod’s cooking, it’s shaping up to be one of the season’s star dishes.
After the starters, the skate loin in black butter and pickles promises to become a favorite among the main courses. The fish’s juiciness, enhanced by the acidity of the pickles and the distinctive flavor of the black butter, makes this dish a true delicacy. Despite its technical difficulty and the precision it requires, Agustín has managed to find the perfect formula for working with this delicate ingredient and elevating it to a higher level.
The sweet part of this culinary creation comes with Hazelnuts, Meringue, and Lime. A reinvented dessert that stands out for its exquisite hazelnut praline, which, together with the meringue and the citrusy touch of lime, offers a light and refreshing finish. ■
