Stavros Niarchos Foundation CTY Endowment for Scholarships The establishment of the SNF $3 million Endowment for scholarships to CTY Greece is a major milestone for Anatolia College as it ensures that the Center for Talented Youth Greece will provide access to all deserving Greek students into perpetuity regardless of financial circumstance. One of the program’s founding principles and a cornerstone of its effort to impact Greek youth is the substantial number of scholarships offered to students. This mirrors the sprit and mission of Anatolia College as a socially responsible educational institution. Thanks to your generosity and support, over 50% of the CTY students receive some form of scholarship assistance.

Since CTY’s inception, a total of 2,400 Greek students have participated in either the day, weekly or residential programs from 2nd to 11th grade. Over 7,050 Greek students have taken the qualifying examination in over 18 centers throughout Greece. Two interesting notes to highlight are that: -52% came form public schools -52% came from urban areas Over 900 educators have become involved with CTY Greece, either as program faculty or master class participants, while a total of 100 faculty members have an active teaching role.

Scholarships
A cornerstone of Anatolia College’s mission is to promote accessibility and diversity through its Scholarship Program.
Anatolia College was the beneficiary of a legacy gift totaling $1.3 million for the endowed scholarship fund. This amount ensures that each year six students will be studying at Anatolia College on scholarship. This brings us closer to our goal of providing financial assistance to one third of our students and serving the greater community by expanding access to the Anatolia experience. The last five years, over 2,000 students have received approximately $11.1 million in institutional scholarships or some form of financial aid. The School’s vibrant Scholarship Program is made possible by the generous support of our donors.

The Innovation Isle The pioneering STEM Innovation Isle, hosts the Fabrication Lab and the Center for Green Education.
Equipped with the latest technology equipment, such as 3D printers and scanners, a CNC machine and with sophisticated electronics and handcrafting tools, the Fabrication Lab is where students are lead from the conception of original ideas to their actual production. The Fab Lab is a concept that originated from Stanford
University and is currently adopted by the MIT Bits and Atoms Center. In the Fab Lab students from all three Anatolia College divisions design and print 3D objects, construct drones, F1 Schools race-cars, micro-electronic components to use in STEM experiments and build and program EV3 robots.
The first of its kind to operate in a secondary school worldwide, the Center for Green Education is a state-of-the-art chemistry lab that can support the most advanced methods in experimental chemistry. Aimed at cultivating environmental awareness in elementary and high school students, the program taught enables students to put Green Chemistry into action. The Center for Green Education is being used as the home to most Chemistry clubs, such as the Cosmetics Chemistry club and the American Chemical Society Chem Club, both of which produced green products which are sold for the benefit of local charities at Anatolia College’s Christmas Bazaar. During the last ACSTAC conference, students had the chance to participate in a Green Chemistry workshop where they performed experiments that highlighted the reused component of the 3R’s (reduce-reuse-recycle).
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
Flexible Learning Spaces Designed to merge the best of modern pedagogical theory and practice, six new Modular Classrooms and a Flexible Learning Space at Eleftheriades Library have been created, all serving as innovative educational ecosystems for students and teachers alike. Suitable for various forms of pedagogy, the new multifunctional, climate-controlled learning classrooms stimulate students’ curiosity while at the same time encouraging teamwork and experimentation. Interchangeable furnishings, movable “walls”, and a variety of instructional and industrial technology, all serve the purpose of a new teaching & learning paradigm, emphasizing research and creativity.

The ACT Lab The brand new Chemistry Laboratory of the ACT Division of Science and Technology constitutes an excellent learning space for students as well as a state-of the-art facility for research purposes. Fully equipped for conducting experiments in a variety of subjects related to chemistry/biochemistry and molecular biology/biotechnology, the new ACT laboratory hosts all standard and, highly specialized equipment such as a real-time PCR device, a 5 channel spectrophotometer, an autoclave, incubators and ovens. Supporting biochemistry/molecular biology research including DNA polymorphism analysis, gene mRNA expression analysis, copy
number analysis, protein quantification and enzyme assays, makes the ACT Lab one of the best university labs in Greece setting it apart from all other colleges.
As this pamphlet highlights, our collective efforts have produced solid results thus far, but we still have much to do to reach our Campaign goals. For Anatolia College to fulfill its mission of providing academic excellence within an innovative learning environment, resources are required to enhance our programs as well as to align our infrastructure in support of our new learning paradigm. Anatolia College strives to nurture intriguing and inquisitive minds from an early age. We expose students to the wonders of the world imbuing them with a sense of both civic and social responsibility to become tomorrow’s leaders in this ever-changing contemporary era.
