Hi, m y name is Anastasia Rezvova, and I am a Master of Architecture student at the University of Colorado Denver. With a background in civil engineering, I approach architecture as a dialogue between design intent and technical rigor.
F or me, architecture is a continuous process of discovery - each project offering a fresh opportunity to explore ideas, materials, and spatial experiences. I am driven by curiosity, innovation, and a desire to understand how thoughtful design can shape meaningful environments.

PLACE OF REFLECTION

DESIGN STUDIO I ABDTRACT CONCEPT ART
NATURE CENTER
HIDDEN WITHIN THE FOREST OF CHATFIELD RESERVOIR, THE NATURE CENTER UNFOLDS AFTER A SLOW, 15-MINUTE APPROACH FROM A DEADEND ROAD PARKING. A TRANSITION FROM THE WORLD OF VEHICLES AND NOISE INTO AN ENVIRONMENT SHAPED BY EARTH, LIGHT, WATER, AND AIR.
BUILDING IS CONCEIVED AS AN EXPERIENTIAL BUILDING - AN ARCHITECTURE THAT FOREGROUNDS SENSE PERCEPTION AS ITS PRIMARY MATERIAL.





THE PROJECT SEEKS TO REVEAL THE SUBTLE, POLYMORPHIC PLEASURES OF BEING PRESENT: THE FEEL OF SHIFTING TEMPERATURES, THE CONTRAST BETWEEN ENCLOSED AND OPEN SPACE, DARKNESS AND OVEREXPOSURE, STILLNESS AND MOVEMENT. EVERY TRANSITION - THERMAL, SPATIAL, ATMOSPHERIC - IS DESIGNED TO HEIGHTEN AWARENESS.
THE BUILDING IS A SEQUENCE OF PAVILIONS THAT LISTEN TO THE LAND AND REVEAL THE INVISIBLE FORCES THAT DEFINE THIS ECOSYSTEM.

AT THE HEART OF THE PROJECT IS A LONG TRIANGLE-CHORD CORRIDOR, RUNNING FROM NORTH TO SOUTH, ACTING AS THE SPINE OF THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. IT IS THE LINE OF MOVEMENT ALONG WHICH THE FOUR PAVILIONS APPEAR - EACH PAVILION IMMERSING THE VISITOR IN A DISTINCT SENSORY REGISTER OF THE SITE. THE NORTH–SOUTH CHORD CORRIDOR CONNECTS ALL FOUR PAVILIONS AND GUIDES THE VISITOR DEEPER INTO THE SITE. ITS FORM IS INFLUENCED BY THE ANGLED TRUNKS OF THE SURROUNDING TREES, WHOSE NATURAL GEOMETRY CREATES TRIANGULAR APERTURES THROUGHOUT THE FOREST. THE CORRIDOR ADOPTS THIS LANGUAGE, ECHOING THE SITE’S MORPHOLOGY IN A THIN, INTENTIONAL LINE. THE CORRIDOR TRANSITIONS FROM DARK, SHADED SIDE TO OPEN EXPANDING MEADOWS VIEW. IT BECOMES THE NARRATIVE THREAD OF THE PROJECT.

LIGHT - HEAT, OVEREXPOSURE.
THE LIGHT PAVILION USES A GLASS DÜRER SOLID AS A SOLAR CHAMBER, ORIENTED DIRECTLY SOUTH, FUNCTIONING LIKE A SOLAR GREENHOUSE THAT MAGNIFIES THE REGION’S POWERFUL LIGHT. HERE , THE SPACE BECOMES INTENTIONALLY HOT AND OVERLIT, CREATING A BOLD THERMAL AND VISUAL CONTRAST TO THE COLD DARKNESS BEFORE IT.
THE PAVILION OFFERS HEIGHTENED SENSORY AWARENESS - A MOMENT WHERE RADIANT HEAT, BRIGHTNESS, AND INTENCE LIGHT TRIGGER MENTAL ALERTNESS AND ENERGY.
EARTH - WEIGHT, DARKNESS, STILLNESS.
THE EARTH PAVILION BEGINS THE SENSORY JOURNEY WITH COOL AIR, DARKNESS, AND GROUNDED MASS. A SINGLE RECTANGULAR APERTURE FRAMES THE DISTANT MOUNTAINS. BELOW, A SUBTERRANEAN LEVEL INTENSIFIES TEMPERATURE DROP AND QUIETNESS.
THIS PAVILION OFFERS MENTAL GROUNDING AND CALM, MINIMAL LIGHT, STABLE TEMPERATURE, AND ENCLOSURE.


AIR - WIND, LIGHTNESS, EXPANSIVE VIEWS. THE FINAL PAVILION LIFTS THE VISITOR BACK TOWARD THE SKY. A VERTICAL TOWER RISES ABOVE THE FOREST CANOPY, COMBINING TWO MATERIAL LOGICS:
– CANVAS ON ONE SIDE, SOFTENING SUN AND MODULATING AIRFLOW.
– ROPE/WIRE LATTICE ON THE OTHERS, OPENING LONG VIEWS ACROSS TREETOPS AND FRAMING BIRD FLIGHT.
THE PAVILION BREATHES. WIND PASSES FREELY THROUGH THE STRUCTURE. IT IS THE LIGHTEST, MOST OPEN POINT IN THE JOURNEY.
WATER - CHANGE, REFLECTION.
THE WATER PAVILION IS A SPACE THAT CHANGES. ITS FLOOR IS DESIGNED TO RESPOND TO THE RESERVOIR’S FLUCTUATING WATER LEVELS - SOME AREAS SUBMERGE SEASONALLY, WHILE ROUTES FOR WALKING REMAIN ACCESSIBLE. A REFLECTIVE POOL AND A DRAMATIC OVERHEAD OPENING BRING SKY, WATER, AND LIGHT INTO DIALOGUE.
THIS PAVILION EMBODIES POLYMORPHIC PERCEPTION: GLOWING REFLECTIONS, COOL HUMIDITY, SHIFTING ACOUSTICS.







BOAT HOUSE
IN THIS PROJECT WE CREATED A MULTI-USE BUILDING THAT HAS THE PRIMARY FUNCTION OF BEING A WOOD AND FIBERGLASS BOAT MANUFACTURING/REPAIR, SALES, AND RENTAL FACILITY AS WELL AS AN EVENT SPACE ALONG THE SHORE OF SHADOW MOUNTAIN LAKE NEAR GRAND LAKE, COLORADO. THE UPPER FLOOR OF THE FACILITY WILL HAVE A SHOWROOM/GALLERY FOR THE BOATS THAT CAN ALSO BE USED AS AN AREA FOR RECEPTIONS OR OTHER EVENTS WHILE THE LOWER LEVEL WILL BE FOR PRODUCTION AND BUSINESS/RENTAL USES.
PROJECT WAS MADE IN REVIT.

DOT-LINE COLLECTIVE
THE CALUSA COUNTRY CLUB COMMUNAL LIVING PROJECT IS A COST-EFFECTIVE, CLIMATE-RESPONSIVE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT DESIGNED FOR A DIVERSE, MULTIGENERATIONAL COMMUNITY. USING LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS, THE PROJECT ADDRESSES FLOODING THROUGH WATER-DETENSION STRATEGIES WHILE PRESERVING SENSITIVE ECOSYSTEMS AND RESTORING NATIVE LANDSCAPES. HOUSING UNITS ARE ORGANIZED INTO COMMUNAL PODS THAT BALANCE SHARED RESOURCES, PRIVACY, AND STRONG CONNECTIONS TO THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT.




































PLACE OF REFLECTION
THE MAIN IDEA OF THE PLACE OF REFLECTION PROJECT IS A SLOW-DOWN SELF-REFLECTION SINGLE-PERSON EXPERIENCE ENLIGHTENING MINDFUL MOMENTS IN NATURE. IN THE TEXTURE STUDIES, I EXPERIMENTED EXTENSIVELY WITH BIONIC TEXTURES BASED ON DIFFERENT MACRO STRUCTURES OF NATURAL ELEMENTS: CORAL MORPHOLOGY, FISH SCALES, OAK LEAF VEINS, AND MACRO BUTTERFLY WING MORPHOLOGY. IN THE ARCHITECTONIC MODEL, I USED THE BUTTERFLY WING TEXTURE AS IT COMPLEMENTED A RADIAL ORGANIZATIONAL PRINCIPLE, GAVE AN ADDITIONAL MOVEMENT FEEL, AND SHOWED MOVEMENT DIRECTION.
THE ENTRANCE IS A DARK, SQUARE, ENCLOSED SPACE WITH AN INCLINE, ONLY STEPS AND BREATH SOUND, AND ONE NARROW, ELONGATED CRACK ON THE ROOF THAT GIVES A BEAM OF LIGHT LEADING TO THE NEXT STAGE.
THE TRANSITION ZONE IS PARTIALLY ENCLOSED, WITH RANDOM-SIZED TECTONIC ELEMENTS, GRADUALLY BECOMING MORE AND MORE OPEN STRUCTURES WITH A FEELING OF SUN AND AIR MOVEMENT. IT LEADS TO A FULLY OPEN SPACE WITH A WATER VIEW AND NO BARRIERS.
THEN, THE PROMENADE LEADS TO AN ENCLOSED SPACE WITH A SITTING PLATFORM AND A FRAMED VIEW - THE FINAL POINT - THE POINT OF REFLECTION.

















THIS STEREOTOMIC STUDY EXPLORES ARCHITECTURE AS A SOLID MASS SHAPED THROUGH SUBTRACTION. INTERIOR SPACES ARE CARVED FROM A MONOLITHIC VOLUME, EMPHASIZING THICKNESS, WEIGHT, AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIGHT AND MASS. THE PROJECT INVESTIGATES HOW VOIDS, CUTS, AND OPENINGS GENERATE SPATIAL EXPERIENCE WITHIN A CONTINUOUS BODY.

THESE ARCHITECTURAL ANALYTIC SKETCHES EXPLORE SPATIAL STRUCTURE, PROPORTION, AND TECTONIC LOGIC THROUGH HAND DRAWING. USING LINEWORK, HATCHING, AND SELECTIVE SHADING, THEY DISSECT ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS - SECTIONS, FRAGMENTS, AND PERSPECTIVES - TO REVEAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN FORM, STRUCTURE, AND ENCLOSURE.








THE SKETCHES FUNCTION AS A THINKING TOOL RATHER THAN REPRESENTATION, EMPHASIZING PROCESS, OBSERVATION, AND SPATIAL REASONING WHILE PRESERVING THE IMMEDIACY AND INTUITION OF HAND-DRAWN ANALYSIS.













I HAVE A FOUNDATION IN ACADEMIC DRAWING AND WORK PRIMARILY WITH WATERCOLOR, OIL, AND ACRYLIC. MY ARTISTIC PRACTICE EXPLORES ATMOSPHERE, SPATIAL DEPTH, AND EMOTIONAL RESONANCE THROUGH LAYERED COMPOSITIONS AND MATERIAL EXPERIMENTATION. I APPROACH PAINTING AS A SPATIAL AND ANALYTICAL PROCESS, TRANSLATING OBSERVATION INTO EXPRESSIVE FORM WHILE REMAINING ATTENTIVE TO LIGHT, TEXTURE, AND BALANCE. MY WORK REFLECTS AN ONGOING INTEREST IN REFLECTION, STILLNESS, AND TRANSFORMATION.
