Ladies continue to rise to the new challenges of playing at a higher tier. In an historic day on 6th September the Amps Ladies beat Frontiers fc 2-0 in Harlow, Essex to go through to the 2nd qualifying round of the Adobe Womens FA Cup, Goals from Kirsty Walker and Destiny Pap were enough to see them through. A local derby against old foes Hitchin Belles awaits them with a Home tie at The Anco Stadium on 20th September, 2pm KO. The Ladies met Hitchin Belles on Sunday 13th narrowly losingf 4-3 in an end to end match in the league. They go again on Sunday 20th September in the ADOBE FA Womens Cup, ko 2pm at the Anco Stadium.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to tonight’s game against Letchworth GC Eagles and we would like to welcome the players, officials and supporters from Pixmore Fields. This is Town’s second home fixture in four days and we are still enjoying a tremendous and exciting FA Vase win over Cranfield on Saturday . After an away win at Broadfields last month Town played out a goalless draw with Cranfield in a battle of the top two Div 1 teams but we won the tie from the penalty spot. Both sides had chances with the Cranes letting an early opportunity go astray but Town had their openings after the break but could not beat the away keeper. Yet it was Mitch Howe who was Town’s hero on the day with two wonderful saves and though Sam Holmes hit the bar James Lauder kept his cool to make it 4-3 It was a different story from last year when the Amps had wretched luck with penalties and it was their first home success for six years when they beat Walthamstow also from the spot. Town clinched a first round draw for the second year running and the draw made yesterday so the outcome will be on Twitter and other media by now. One sad note was an injury to Sonny NewburyBarr who collided with a fence late in the first half and we wish him a speedy recovery from his face injury. The victory was Town’s eighth in a row which is a wonderful feat and it shows the depth of the squad with some guys still on their holidays The Amps won the August Team of the Month which John Chidley delivered on Saturday. Town lead the table by a point but have played a game less than Eaton Socon and they now go to Codicote next Tuesday in the Trophy after it has been moved from the weekend so currently

we have a free Saturday Our home game with Rushden has also been cancelled the following week so watch this space for a replacement. Our last game of the month is at Stotfold on Tuesday 26th before we open next month with two home games against Langford and Huntingdon respectively with the Vase tie on October 10 Stotfold come here late in October before we host Cranfield although fixtures are subject to change The club wish our Ladies Team good luck in their FA Cup tie against Hitchin Belles on Sunday while our u 18s Have made a fine start with two good wins, their last being 4-1 at Kempston Rovers. THE EAGLES The Eagles were founded in 1978/9 and now have over 400 registered junior players, in addition to a ladies team and 3 adult male teams. In 2006 the club completed new changing and clubroom facilities at its home ground of Pixmore Playing Fields, and facilities have been further improved as the senior teams of the club progress. A new lounge and bar opened in August 2016 and floodlights were erected in 2017. A second covered spectator stand was added in 2012. In 2008/9 the club entered 2 adult teams in the Herts Senior County League for the first time in order to provide an exit route for its youth players. In 2010/11 the team was promoted to the Premier Division of HSCL. They were league champions in 2018/19 season and promoted to level 6 for the first time for the 2021/22 season, competing in division 1 of the Spartan South Midland Football League. The 2021/22 season also marked another major change for the club with the replacement of the reserve side by an u23 team, and the completion of a development pathway by the introduction of an u21 side, enabling a smoother transition from youth football to adult level. In the 2025/6 season the u23 team were beaten finalists in the Gregg Cup and the U21 team were winners of the Cecil Hudson Cup.

Good evening and welcome back to the Anco Stadium, what a weekend that was for the club... a fantastic win against our local rivals Cranfield Utd in the FA Vase and…….. we win it on Penalties!!! Back to the reality of the league tonight and the visit of Nunnys young Letchworth side. Last season the upset us over at their place with a 2-1 over us so caution must be taken as we strive to keep our unbeaten start intact. A big shout to you our supporters, another big attendance at the game especially wity all of the other sporting events going on in Ampthill at the weekend and a specail shout top the Ultras who nbever stopped singing..
