Elementary students enjoyed the whole week a Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by Elementary STUCO.

2nd Grade Supermarket Visit

2nd grade students went to Diprova supermarket to learn about Economy. They learned about needs vs wants, producers, consumers, and sticking to a Budget using math skills learned in class. It was a lot of fun!!

Sociedad Honoraria Hispรกnica Induction Sociedad Honoraria Hispรกnica (SHH) had the new members initiation ceremony. We want to congratulate all our students that are new members of this honor society.

National Art Honor Society & National Art Junior Honor Society Society
Wednesday night we had the National Art Honor Society and National Junior Art Honor Society induction. CONGRATULATIONS to our students who made it into this honorable and selected group.
Artist Ulises Rivera was the guest speaker who inspired our students to follow their dreams and their art.

8th Grade Freedom of Chemical Dependency Talk We had the 1st parent run meeting addressing the Chemical Dependency topic. At this meeting there were 17 parents of 8th grade students. It went so well it’s fantastic news for the entire AST Learning Community! The plan is to have Parent Led meetings from all grades (6 through 12) up and running next school year. This is a process that begins with a step and will only continue if we keep walking together. THANK YOU parents.
Cruz Roja Blood Drive Cruz Roja HondureĂąa visited our school all day on Wednesday, so our students (+18) and staff could donate blood to help others who need it the most. It was a great activity where many of our students supported and donated. THANK YOU!!

Seniors National Anthem Exam Our Seniors 2018 presented their National Anthem Exam, and they showed a lot of Honduran pride!
Great Job S’18!
Chiminike Earth Day Pre Kinder and Kinder students had a visit from the people of Chiminike who came to our school to celebrate Earth day, and to teach our little eagles about recycling and to protect our environment with different games. Way to go Pre School!

TED Ed Club In TED-Ed Clubs, students work together to discuss and celebrate creative ideas. Friday afternoon, we had six of our students present their Ted talk. It was an amazing experience full of great ideas, stories and talent. Special thanks to Mrs. Michelle Lagos for leading Ted Ed Club.

Alumni Corner MARIA JOSÉ MONCADA (’06) Alumna Maria José Moncada (’06) has received the honor of being named “Subsecretaria de planificación, gestión e inversión” in the Ministry of Tourism. After leaving the Eagle’s nest, Maria José moved to Georgia where she studied Hotel Restaurant Management and Public Relations at Georgia Southern University. She then came back to Honduras and started working hard to make Honduras a better country. We are so proud of having yet another one of our own represent us in government!
