Character Counts Week
Elementary School’s Character Ed Department commemorated Character Counts Week with amazing activities throughout the whole week to celebrate the universal values we share: Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, and Fairness. Way to go Elementary!
Congratulations to Ms. Nena Alvarado, Mrs. Gaby Simón, Ms. Michelle Corrales, and Mrs. Sandra Lopez, for putting this amazing event together.

ES & MS Anti-Bullying Talk
October is the month for anti-bullying awareness. Our Counseling Department addressed the harmful effects of bullying with ES/MS students in a series of talks specifically designed for them.
Mrs. Marielos Quesada (MS Counselor), and Ms. Ana Maria Leรณn Gomez (Diagnostician & 6th Grade Counselor) lead the bullying talks.
The High School Anti-Bullying Club gave some advice to our students against Bullying! Thank You AntiBullying task force!

Como Desarrollar Conductas Positivas en los NiĂąos
Mrs. Fadya Kafati (PS Counselor) addressed PS parents on how to develop positive conducts in their kids. Parents learned a lot of valuable information from this presentation and thanked Mrs. Fadya afterwards.

Stanford and University of Pennsylvania College Visit
Our HS Counseling Department organized a visit from representatives of renown universities STANFORD and UPENN. The evening welcomed counselors from local schools, as well as AST parents and students. Our Board of Director President, Reina Irene Mejia, welcomed and thanked the counseling office for coordinating this event. UPENN alumni Jorge Simón (AST Class of ‘98) and Lucia Nasser attended the presentation and were good ambassadors of their Alma Mater. Our Multipurpose room was packed with families ready for high quality education. Thank you to our HS Counselors Ms. Yolanda Avilés, and Marisabel Figueroa for putting this great presentation together.

MS Leadership Conference 2018, Panama
A group of Middle School student leaders visited Balboa Academy in Panama to participate in AASCA’s Middle School Leadership Conference. It was a great experience for our eagles where they learned team skills and developed tools to learn how to be future leaders at AST.

Alumni Corner Manuela Willingham (’11) Congratulations to Alumna Manuela Willingham for her successful career at Grupo Flores. In 2011 after her school years, Manuela, went to Chicago, Illinois to study Communications and Public Relations at DePaul University. Today, she is enjoying her success in Grupo Flores as Marketing Executive. Manuela is a proud eagle that puts the name of AST on the top #ProudEagle #Alumni
