The AST family and Dining Hall staff are conscious of the environment and are always looking for ways to be more eco-friendly. This is why we now have a table for people who want to use plates and cutlery instead of plastics, as well as stickers with expiration dates for our food. GO EAGLES!

UNAH students VISITed our DINING HALL A group of students majoring in Nutrition at the UNAH, visited our Dining Hall to learn ‘‘hands on’’ the different processes such as food storage, manipulation and final products. We are honored to open our doors to others, and to serve as an example of ‘best practices’’ in Dining in Honduras. Shout out to Angelica Díaz del Valle (’97) (Dining Hall Manager) and her staff for their hard work and services to the AST family!

Semana de la Juventud (infa Basketball) Our Infa Basketball girls’ team participated in the ‘‘Semana de la Juventud’’ at the Instituto San Miguel, this past weekend. We congratulate them for earning Second place against Villa de las Niñas.

Alumni Corner Lucia Gallardo (2008) Alumna Lucia Gallardo is a serial entrepreneur building socially
impactful emerging technology solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems as Founder & CEO of Emerge. Emerge’s solutions facilitate a more efficient, more humane, and more transparent movement of people, goods, data and resources around the world. Emerge has been nominated for the 2018 Global SDG Awards and Newsweek’s 2019 Blockchain Impact Awards. Switzerland’s Hatch Colab has shortlisted Emerge as one of the world’s 50 Most Impactful Startups. Prior to starting Emerge Lucia graduated from McGill University, with studies in International Development and International Trade & Business. She also studied Communication Strategy. After her studies, Lucia, co-founded Dona un Libro, Cambia una Mente, an education focused non-profit. Most recently, she was nominated for MIT Technology Review’s Latin American Innovators under 35 and the Royal Bank of Canada’s 2019 Women of Influence.
