Mask Day Our Pre Kinder students had a Mask Day last Friday. They came to school with masks of superheroes, princesses, minions, among others. They had a fun time interpreting their favorite characters!

Reading Buddies The school year started with the 4th graders reading out loud to the 2nd graders and motivating them to adopt a reading habit. Thank you fourth graders for being excellent readers and role models to our little ones in the Elementary School (ES).

‘‘How to…’’ Third Grade Project Ms. Nancy Amador (substituting for Mrs. Jihad Jaar) 3-A students worked hard on their ‘’How to Project’’ for their Social Studies and Writing classes. They needed to explain the process to follow in order to elaborate something by using and by trying to teach their classmates how to repeat the steps of their project. This project helps students improve their public speaking skills, explaining directions and writing them out.

Mrs. Elcenora Martinez Last week we had the visit of our Alumna (Class of 1972), and former Elementary Principal, Mrs. Elcenora Martinez. She came to say hello, and also she donated an Industrial Laminator for the School!

One for One Saturday afternoon, our club One for One, had a ‘’Noche Beneficiosa’’ to raise funds for the children of our school’s General Services, Cleaning ladies and nannies who are single mothers. The funds will be used to help them buy School supplies for their upcoming school year in February. Great activity from One for One, THANK YOU!

Cooking Club Our Cooking Club learning how to make Chicken Nuggets and Ravioli with Tomato Sauce from scratch. Thank you to Mrs. Angelica Diaz del Valle and Chef Saul Melgar for teaching these exquisite recipes! Cooking Club Mondays (HS) and Fridays (MS/ES) at 2:45 pm in our Dining Hall. National Honor Society NHS members led by their president Ana Gabriel Barahona, organized a special ceremony for our guards, to show gratitude for their hard work and compromise. Each guard received a Supermarket Gift Card on behalf of the NHS and AST!

ALUMNI CORNER MABEL VELASQUEZ ( ’96) Our Alumna Mabel Velasquez (’96) is a proud Eagle representing AST at Linkedin Company. She recently joined the Talent Solutions Team at Linkedin. After a great career in other companies like Frontier Strategies Group, Grupo Vesta, among others. Mabel graduated from Purdue University in the year 2001 with a Bachelor of Science, Economics and Management, and she has an MBA from IE Business School. One of the greatest achievements from Mabel is that she is also a Co-Founder of Vital Voices Honduras. Thank you to Mabel for representing AST and Honduras internationally and congratulations on your new position in one of the best network connections in Social Media. #ProudEagle
