First Grade Steam Project
Ms. Nancy Amador first graders made a FUN experiment that incorporated all the elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math).
The kids read two different versions of “The 3 Little Pigs,” and made a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting the stories. Then, they were working in groups and they got to build a house for their “little pig.” The house needed to be able to withstand the “big bad wolf blow dryer,” and not fall down!

Estilo de Crianza y su Influencia en el Adolescente Diagnostician and 6th grade Counselor, Ms. Ana María León Gómez, gave a lecture as part of the Character Education Parent Presentations called ‘‘Estilo de Crianza y su Influencia en el Adolescente’’. The talk was very informative and Ms. Ana María gave incredible tips about raising teens.

Friendship Club First Meeting Friendship Club started this new school year with a breakfast reunion. Lead by advisor Ms. Nena Alvarado, and Counselor Mrs. Cristiana Baide, our students had a blast as they enjoyed some cookies and milk.

Global Vision International (GVI) Club
GVI is an international organization that provides an avenue for youth to C
volunteer in projects ranging from wildlife conservation to community development. Last Wednesday, GVI took a field trip to La Tigra to replant trees in one of the areas destroyed by a fire in May. This was GVI’s first event as the club is brand new this year and it was a success!

KIC College Fair Seniors and Juniors had a College Fair as they are deciding their academic future. Representatives of nine different universities came to show their university and what they can offer to our students.

AST’s Got Talent Amazing performances by our students in the AST’s Got Talent. Congratulations to all the participants you were all great. There is no doubt that the eagles nest is full of talent.

ABSH Track & Field Tournament Our Track & Field team made an incredible participation in the ABSH Tournament in San Pedro Sula. After a long competition, AST finished 3rd place overall with a total of 8 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals for a total of 33 medals. Our eagles competed in 5 categories with a team of 20 girls and 12 boys. Congratulations EAGLES!

STUCO Track & Field Motivation Student Council decorated the school to motivate our eagles that were traveling to San Pedro Sula for the ABSH Track & Field. Thank you STUCO!

Juegos de la Juventud 2018 Our female and male basketball team made history, as they both win Juegos de la Juventud 2018 in Unitec. The competition was tough, with almost 40 different institutions participating, they reached first place in the basketball field. Congratulations. WAY TO GO EAGLES!

Alumni Corner Class of 1968 ‘‘50 Years Reunion’’ Class of 1968 celebrated their 50 years reunion with a beautiful tour around the campus. They had a reunion with a 6th grade Spanish class in which they shared their memories and experiences. After an emotional moment walking around the campus they finished the tour printing their hands in our new 50 years reunions tree painted by Ms. Talia Gómez. Thank you to the class of 1968. ONCE AN EAGLE, ALWAYS AN EAGLE!
