Great Kindness Challenge Celebration The Great Kindness Challenge is a campaign that helps students devote one week to performing as many acts of kindness as possible by completing a kindness checklist. this is a specific way in which the Character Ed Department promotes creating a culture of kindness at AST. There were activities that evolved around kindness all week long, and this Kindness Challenge is celebrated in more than 24,000 schools around the world and in more than 110 countries.

Kindness Assembly (ES) As part of the Great Kindness Challenge, the Character Ed. Department planned an assembly where the MS band, Houses, Cheerleaders, ES Stuco, and students formed a parade to welcome everyone. During the assembly, our students did outstanding performances to demonstrate Kindness. ‘‘Be kind. It’s the Eagle way!’’

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday (ES) Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss birthday with awesome costumes, games, and an incredible surprise visit by The Cat in the Hat! ‘‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.’’ – Dr. Seuss

Kudos to Mrs. Pamela Callejas (IB Art teacher) for organizing this AMAZING workshop!

Kids Athletics Closing Ceremony (ES) We had tons of fun during the last day of Kids Athletics, part of the Eagle League sports program. Our students demonstrated all the training learned during these last months. Thank you to Ms. Michelle Corrales (Coordinator), the Athletic Department, and the coaches for their hard work during this season!

PTO Mother & Daughter Pizza Date PTO carried their annual Mother & Daughter event with a Cooking Pizza Date at Pizza House. It was a great opportunity for our girls to share a couple of hours and a lot of pizza with their mothers! Thank You PTO!

Alumni Corner Giovanni Porta (2007) Giovanni Porta, or Gio, as his friends called him, graduated from AST in 2007. He then attended Pepperdine University in California. At a young age, Gio developed a passion for the arts. Today, he is an actor, writer, and director and has acted in important movies and TV series in Hollywood. His most notable acting appearances have been in the movie Just Before I Go, and the TV series Awkward. Last week, our alumnus won an award as a Filmmaker in the Athena Film Festival for his movie ‘‘Hedy’’. Hedy is about Hedy Lamarr, a famed actress and inventor that storms Hollywood while at the same time struggling to convince the U.S. Military that her secret invention will help them win World War II. Congratulations to Giovanni we are proud of you and your success, and we hope to see your amazing work in the Honduran cinema soon! #GOEAGLES
