AHG ALUMNA: Crafting Cakes & Investing in Her Community
Dear reader,
Legacy. It is the word that has been at the forefront of my heart during this milestone year for American Heritage Girls. As we gathered this summer at AHG’s National 30th Anniversary Convention, I was struck again and again by the reminder that legacy is not about one moment, one leader, or even
one generation, it is about faithfulness passed from hand to hand, heart to heart, and life to life. A testament to God’s goodness and His plans that outshine even our wildest dreams.
Seeing girls from across the nation join together in worship, service, and celebration was a powerful picture of that legacy. The laughter of Tenderhearts, the camaraderie amongst Explorers, the leadership of Pioneers and Patriots, and the dedication of Troop leaders and AHG Alumnae (all under one roof in Cincinnati!) was a living testimony to God’s faithfulness over three decades. Each girl, whether she attended Convention inperson or virtually, experienced the fruit of this ministry and now carries its mission forward into the future.
Legacy is at the center of this Fall 2025 issue of Heritage Headlines. Within these pages, you’ll find highlights from Convention, stories of Troops and girls who are building upon the foundation laid 30 years ago, and glimpses of how AHG is preparing the next generation of women of integrity to know their identity in Christ.
As we celebrate this anniversary year, I am reminded that the truest legacy AHG can leave is not in programs or events but in the transformed lives of girls and families for the glory of God.
That is the inheritance worth passing on. And thanks to your prayers, your leadership, and your support, that legacy is alive and well.
With deep gratitude for the past and great hope for the future,

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN ACTIVE CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES
RECENT FLOODING INSPIRES OHIO TROOP TO LEND A HAND
EXPLORER LEARNS TO CARE FOR YOUNGER KIDS THROUGH SERVICE
AHG Girl Members can serve in a variety of ways—with their Troop or individually. For many girls, choosing to serve during weekend worship gatherings is a great way to care for those within the Body of Christ, as it says in Galatians 6:10. For Lola, an Explorer from OK2810, Sunday worship services offer her a chance to learn and grow during the early morning then serve during the later gathering times. Her Charter Organization’s preschool ministry, called The TreeHouse, allows kids ages 11 and up to assist in class lessons. This summer, Lola was able to serve 1-2 times per month—a great way to care for younger kids and have some fun. One of her favorite ways to serve is to read to little ones.
The summer flooding in Wheeling, West Virginia caused catastrophic damage to thousands of residents. When waters rose, houses filled with mud leaving a wake of property damage and destruction. OH7777 learned about the long list of needs and sprang into action to lend a hand. Since the flooding damage was only 15 minutes from their Charter Organization, they enthusiastically made the journey with gloves, tools-in-hand, and hearts ready to serve. Many Troop Members personally knew people affected, so the effort was close to their hearts. Layla, an Explorer, and Embry, a Pioneer, both worked hard to clean mud and debris from houses in Wheeling during the day. Annually, AHG Troops log an average of 600,000 hours of service making a difference in thousands of communities across the United States.
TEXAS NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE EFFORTS HONOR FIRST RESPONDERS
The 2025 AHG National Day of Service recently saw Troops from across the nation band together to serve in their local communities in celebration of AHG’s 30th birthday. Troop TX1489 from Simonton, Texas served by showing appreciation to the PRICELESS first responders of their community by baking food, goodies, and making homemade cards of appreciation on September 20—making the day a Saturday well-spent. “Service is the practical expression of a girl’s faith,” says AHG Founder & Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay. “Watching girls grow in their faith and experiencing them discovering their God-given purpose through the development of servant hearts is the greatest achievement of American Heritage Girls.” Since first responder teams are the everyday heroes every community depends on, the Girl Members of TX1489 honored these beloved men giving their best!

SUMMER IN YELLOWSTONE DELIVERS HIGH ADVENTURE FUN FOR PIONEER & PATRIOT GIRLS
There is a rite of passage for AHG Girl Members once they move into the Pioneer and Patriot (PI/PA) Program Levels, often accompanied by high adventure activities, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and lots of bonding time together. ID2911 leveraged their beautiful geographical location and embarked upon a PI/PA camping trip to Yellowstone National Park. Girl and Adult Members basked in the picturesque views, visited natural wonders like the Old Faithful Geyser, learned about the area’s ecology, pitched in to cook camp meals together, tent-camped, and snagged memories that will last a lifetime. Troop volunteers went above and beyond to create space for girls to secure quality time together—a highly valued feature of the American Heritage Girls experience for older Girl Members.

AHG EXPERIENCE INSPIRES TEXAS GIRL MEMBER TO AUTHORSHIP
Few character development programs can offer the depth of experiences and skill-building that compare to American Heritage Girls. From a robust badge program to high-quality leadership training, Girl Members are often inspired to excel in their various passions and talents. For Charlotte of TX0240, her Troop experiences served as the perfect catalyst to becoming a young author. She recalls that her story “’The Case of the Missing Marshmallows’ was inspired by my many AHG camping trips.” Once strung together, those short stories blossomed and now she is a fully published author. Charlotte describes the first time she was able to hold a fresh copy of her own book: “the feeling of actually touching the book for the first time is hard to describe. It’s hard to wrap my brain around sometimes, that I wrote this book.” So far, she has attended a few events and conferences selling her books with hopes of many more to come.
ARISE SHINES WITH PRICELESS LEADERSHIP TRAINING
The AHG D.C. Metro Area Team works hard to coordinate various Multi-Troop leadership opportunities, including their annual Arise retreat. This summer’s event was held at VA1914, Manassas Baptist Church. 49 Patriot Girls attended with 25 Adult Members. Utilizing the AHG GRIT with Grace leadership curriculum, girls grew in Biblical leadership through sessions like Goals and Planning and Conflict Resolution. Emma, of TB2020, said “I really appreciate that every session is completely Biblically based […] and that the sessions were a time of studying and learning what the Word of God says about leadership.” Abby from VA1914 said, “I learned how to handle conflict in a God-honoring way.” Adult leaders had some encouraging takeaways as well! “What a blessing ARISE has been in my daughter’s walk with the Lord. I believe there is an anointing on the teachings and they reach all of us,” praised Zoila Rangel of MD1212
BADGESTORIES
LEARNING LIFE SKILLS AND BUILDING CONFIDENCE
FISHING BADGE
As you enjoy the sport of fishing, be respectful and a good steward of the environment God has given us!
Often, AHG Troops incorporate fun experiences during the process of completing badge requirements. AL7867 recently took on the Fishing Badge and a Troop-wide campout offered a chance to enjoy God’s great outdoors and to exercise their new skill set. Campouts work best with good food; the Troop’s Explorer Unit expertly prepared breakfast the morning of the big fishing experience. During the teaching portion, older girls from the Pioneer and Patriot Units instructed the younger girls in the Tenderheart and Explorer Units. Then it was time to break out the poles, bait, and cast their lines into the water. Annaleigh and Parker, both Patriots, hit the jackpot with their catches—a Bluegill species of fish!
CARING FOR CREATION BADGE
God has created a beautiful world for us to enjoy! We must learn to be good stewards of His gift of nature for the benefit of our health, our safety, our enjoyment, and for future generations.
With water recognized as a precious resource, OK0316 Patriot Evelyn was inspired through her Caring for Creation Badge work to reach out to a state senator with an aim for a sanctioned Water Stewardship Day, bringing awareness and action to area water resources. Evelyn initially was inspired through badgework with Freshwater & Marine Biology, leading her to complete the Caring for Creation Badge next, and then going a step further to communicate with state legislators. Her passion for clean water is a natural outflow of what she has learned through both badges. Evelyn’s AHG Troop plans to host a Water Clean-Up Day service project to focus on local reservoirs and creeks. The pinnacle of Evelyn’s efforts came on May 13 when she spoke at the Oklahoma State Capitol advocating for a future Water Stewardship Day.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS BADGE
An emergency, such as a serious accident, a life-threatening illness, or a dangerous circumstance, is a situation that requires quick action. Completing the Emergency Preparedness Badge will help girls keep calm, know what to do, and who to call in an emergency situation. This badge can prove vital in avoiding serious injury or saving someone’s life.
METEOROLOGY BADGE
Weather affects our lives in many ways. It influences our comfort, food supply, outdoor activities, health, and even the economy of our country. Because of this, people have always tried to find accurate ways to forecast the weather. As a young meteorologist, girls will observe and collect data relating to wind, temperature, and precipitation in your environment. Weather forecasters attempt to draw conclusions from data to forecast future weather. Accurate forecasts allow you to be safe and prepared for weather events.
After an EF4 tornado ravaged through the town of London, Kentucky, KY1632 and KY0489 met at news station WKYT in Lexington to hear a special guest speaker, Meteorologist Jim Caldwell, about how storms form and how to stay safe. Thanks to a professional connection Troop leader Megan Fields was able to secure, the outing gave girls a handson way to learn. During their time at the news station, both Troops prayed together over any fear brought on by the storms and for victims of the storm. This MultiTroop badgework experience offered Girl Members a chance to connect, work together to complete badge requirements, and ultimately obtain both the Emergency Preparedness and Meteorology Badges. The experience inspired KY1632 to replace a regular Troop meeting with a supply drive to benefit the tornado victims.
CHARTER ORGANIZATION SPOTLIGHT
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF SPRINGFIELD
SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI MO3565
ARGUABLY THE MOST IMPACTFUL FORCE IN THE WELL-BEING OF AN AHG TROOP IS THE CHARTER ORGANIZATION.
Every Troop is owned by a Charter Organization, which is typically a church, school, or similarly aligned Christian organization. Without the support of their Charter Organization, an AHG Troop would not exist. When the Charter Organization and Charter Representative are involved beyond simply providing meeting space, the AHG Ministry can have an incredible impact on the outreach of the organization.
WHY DID YOUR CHURCH DECIDE TO CHARTER AN AHG TROOP?
First Baptist Church Springfield had a history of supporting scouting, and with AHG’s Christian values approach, our church mothers and daughters found a place that they were safe and secure when Girls Scouts of the USA policy changes veered away from God. These girls and their mothers were the beginning of Troop MO3565. I see my place as a Charter Representative as my calling. I tell our congregation when giving reports on the Troop that these moms and daughters are like an extension of my own family.
HOW MANY YEARS HAS YOUR CHURCH HAD AN AHG TROOP?
First Baptist Springfield chartered MO3565 in May of 2012, so it has been a part of our church ministry for 13 years.
HOW HAVE YOU
SEEN GROWTH
IN YOUR YOUTH/FAMILY/WOMEN’S MINISTRY PROGRAMMING SINCE CHARTERING AN AHG TROOP?
Our Charter Organization saw the AHG Troop as a way to develop their children’s and youth ministry. We are a unique ministry of the church, providing a safe, secure, and centrally located place to meet. Our Troop Coordinator and one of the Explorer leaders, along with the Charter Representative are the only church members, meaning that our AHG Troop offers an open door of outreach to the surrounding communities on behalf of our church. Another unique aspect is that most of our girls are homeschooled and travel as far as 70 miles each week to be a part of our Troop. There are several Christian denominations represented in our Troop.
HOW ELSE HAS AHG AFFECTED YOUR ORGANIZATION’S MINISTRY EFFORTS?
Our Troop Scripture verse is from Proverbs 3:5-6. Our congregation supports the Mission of AHG, to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. These girls are guided in their journey by deeply committed Christian leaders. We have had five young ladies receive the Stars & Stripes Award. One of the biggest contributions our Troop makes, recognized by the congregation, is the number of Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes they pack each year—over 200 in 2023 and 2024!
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER POTENTIAL CHARTER ORGANIZATIONS LOOKING TO CHARTER AN AHG TROOP?
One exciting development in the last two months is the forming of a new Troop by three of our leaders at their church. I would encourage another Charter Organization to charter an AHG Troop. It has been one of the most enjoyable experiences for me to watch the little girls grow into Godly young women with the potential to accomplish the tasks God has set before them.
As Troop membership grows and capacity limits are reached, some families feel called to start a new Troop at a neighboring church or closer to home. AHG has the tools and staff to guide them through every step of the process. Charter Organizations serve a crucial role in the AHG Ministry, as they own and operate AHG Troops. Though volunteers implement the AHG Program, the Charter Organization is able to customize their AHG Troop to best accomplish their ministry goals.
The relationship between a Charter Organization and its Troop is designed to be a partnership. As a ministry partner, the AHG Troop serves as an extension of the Charter Organization. AHG values the role of the Charter Organization in the AHG Ministry as they are the “owners” of their Troop.

FROM ONE TO MANY—THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD OVER THREE DECADES
From a kitchen table in West Chester, Ohio in 1995 to a convention center in Cincinnati, the story of the American Heritage Girls Ministry follows many turns, hills, and valleys, but the faithfulness and direction of a Sovereign God has been the driving force over the last 30 years. The tumultuous cultural landscape of scouting in the 1990s served as a catalyst to “light a candle” rather than cursing the darkness, which was a very personal road for AHG’s Founder, Patti Garibay. When her beloved scouting volunteership took a dark turn, the Lord was already leading her in a new direction. Patti advocated for her daughters and the girls she mentored, linking arms with other concerned parents, but reforming the scouts wasn’t part of their story; starting American Heritage Girls was though. The first AHG Troop had 12 girls, three leaders, and was bursting with potential from a blond-wood kitchen table in a modest suburban home. Because many families felt uprooted from scouting, the interest and the ministry grew—quite organically, in fact. Now in 2025, the ministry spans coast to coast and border to border in all 50 states of the U.S. and across 15 countries through AHG Trailblazer Members. When God was removed from conventional scouting oaths and statements in 1995, concerned families felt that the Lord’s design for safe, supported girlhood was also being systematically phased out. Today, anyone can clearly see that the AHG community holds a girl’s imago Dei, the image of God, in high regard no matter in which of the over 1,300 communities where AHG Troops serve. Each Troop’s influence shines as girls are transformed
into women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. This influence is strengthening families. Generations have common ground during AHG Troop meetings, service projects, and badgework outings. Time and again, research shows that when the Biblical design of the family is strong, then child outcomes are also thriving1. The AHG Ministry sits at nearly 70,000 Members—roughly two-thirds are Girl Members. These girls are surrounded by a solid community of Christians who are deeply invested in seeing each grow into the next generation of flourishing leaders.
EQUIPPING COMPETENT & COMPASSIONATE WOMEN OF INTEGRITY
Within the AHG Program, badgework opens the door for girls to discover a wide range of interests, passions, and skills. In the beginning, the program offered one skill-based badge, Sewing—because as Patti recalls, “We had to sew our own uniform vests!”—followed by three more badges, Outdoor Skills, Cooking, and the Native American Badge, AHG was growing and equipping girls even from the early days. After three decades, the AHG Girl Handbooks offer a robust landscape of over 95 badges across six skill-based frontiers—Heritage, Family Living, Arts, Outdoor Skills, Personal WellBeing, and Science & Technology. In a time when young adults are reporting that they don’t feel prepared for life outside of their parents’ homes2, the AHG Ministry is equipping girls to thrive through badgework and life skills training. Badges don’t just offer competency through skills; each AHG Badge has a Biblical Worldview connection to help girls see how God’s design is funneled through each hobby, skill set, and
noble pursuit. Badge requirements incite wonder, challenge girls to new horizons, connect her with others, and, on occasion, can be experienced in new places while developing lifelong memories.
Girl Members have favorite badges, of course—the Cake Decorating Badge, Camping Badge, and Horsemanship Badge rank near the top. But they also share stories of discovery and delight through badgework, like Kenna, an AHG Alumna from Illinois who explored the Cinematography Badge with such zeal and fervor that her family knew instantly this skill would guide her vocation. Kenna now is a well-respected voice on a podcast, produces videos for a Christian family-focused advocacy group, and is a strong supporter of family rights in the political sphere. Kenna’s AHG Badgework launched her into a place of respect and influence. There are stories like
AHG National Board of Trustees

Grace, a Girl Member from Ohio whose Boating Badge experience translated into a real-life hero story when she was able to right four capsized sailboats during a storm on Lake Michigan along with her brother and save lives. And finally, stories like Hannah, an AHG Alumna from Oklahoma who loved the Mission Minded Badge so much it inspired her to study Nursing in college with an aim to do medical missions work internationally.
SERVICE: AHG’S MIDDLE NAME & LASTING LEGACY
AHG girls are known for putting faith into action. From food drives and disaster relief to elder care and prolife advocacy, AHG girls serve with compassion and courage. From the founding Troop’s first service project, to 30 years later, it’s truly a countless number of hours spent serving through good deeds—and it’s still growing. Last year alone, American Heritage Girls served a total of 684,260 hours, which is equivalent to 78.11 years of service completed in just one year!
Girl Members who grow through the program have the opportunity to take on the Stars & Stripes Award journey—a culmination of character development combined in a complex service project. When the Stars & Stripes Award began in 2001, the heart was to impact a
community through an American Heritage Girl’s service, but also to offer her the gift of getting to the end of herself, the chance to see God provide in supernatural ways, and the opportunity to step into leadership as a true woman of integrity. Today, the Stars & Stripes Award sees nearly 200 recipients each Program Year celebrated in the annual Stars & Stripes Salute magazine. Through the process, candidates plan, fundraise, implement, develop a succession plan, and pray—lots of prayer—all under the guidance of a dedicated team of Stars & Stripes Project Advisors, Stars & Stripes Mentors, and their loving families. The crowning endeavor for each award recipient is the Spiritual Walk Essay, a written work entailing her journey of vision casting, failing forward, and learning God’s goodness in an oftenvisceral way. By 2025, a total of 1,432 Girl Members had achieved the Stars & Stripes Award, and the number climbs daily as a new cohort of candidates actively enter the process each month. Is the ministry beaming with joy—absolutely, because the Lord is generously blessing these girls with amazing experiences both within the program and beyond.
GIRLHOOD HELD TOGETHER IN THE BOND OF FRIENDSHIP
The tapestry of girlhood is intricately woven with innate highs, lows, tears, and joys—but the foundation of a healthy journey is one that is walked together. Across three decades, God has faithfully used AHG Troops as Holy Spirit-filled spaces for trust, friendship, and fun to thrive. The enemy has strategically attacked girls in this plane—feeding them lies that they are alone, that they won’t measure up, or that no one could ever really understand them. The research shows a dire snapshot of girls’ mental health in contemporary life. Key anchor points from the last 30 years show an alarming trend of depression, anxiety, self-harm, isolation, teen pregnancy, addiction, and explicit content consumption. In short, the future of girlhood is looking bleak by these metrics. But the Mission of the AHG Ministry has never wavered since its genesis—and stories consistently roll in showing that because of AHG, the tide is turning.
Through AHG Pen Pal, Girl Members can engage in the fun of letter writing and befriend another sameage girl in a different state. The timeless sentiment of stories and laughter shared over sticky-fingered s’mores, campfires, and a walk in nature echoes still today in AHG Troops. Differently-abled girls find an empowering community where they can grow in confidence and serve others knowing that they are right where they were designed to thrive. When an AHG Alumna’s friend since age 9 stands next to her on her wedding day, the impact of AHG friendships is clear—the loyalty, compassion, and pure love shared in the formative years doesn’t fade away. In a very real sense, these trusted relationships are saving girls’ lives. From a story of self-inflicted wounds, isolation, and deep pain for Allie to a condition that led Trinity to pull out her own hair, finding a place to belong in an AHG Troop infused hope, joy, and confidence in each girl, thereby giving her a place to truly be herself. Both girls found a place to belong.
What is the key formula that AHG Troops have to combat the myriad of frightening trends seen in today’s culture? It’s a Christ-centered community of volunteers and families who hold an unwavering commitment to change the landscape of girlhood.
AHG’s 30th year brought a significant milestone with Founder Patti Garibay passing the sacred keys of ministry on to Rachael Culpepper, the new Executive Director and Patti’s daughter. The two women have faithfully and sacrificially followed God’s call to serve in this ministry, embracing all the quirks, hardships, and victories that come with the territory. Rachael remembers the notorious blanket that had to be draped over a donated copy machine in the garage of their home, so it could muster the power to churn out AHG Girl Handbooks and resources in the early days. While the Sewing Badge pioneered the AHG Girl Uniform’s design in the early days, a bustling fulfillment center now works diligently to keep pace with the high demand of Girl Member Uniforms.
From the kitchen table to the garage, today’s AHG Headquarters Office in Cincinnati, Ohio, holds the treasures of the ministry’s history along with all the ripe expectation for God’s faithfulness to continue through a nationwide staff and diligent stewardship of ministry resources day in and day out.
The ministry’s specialized perspective on girl leadership birthed a curriculum called GRIT with Grace that offers interactive learning sessions for Troops with focuses on resilience, circle of influence, interpersonal communication, vision casting, goal setting, conflict resolution, and so much more. The depth of resources continues to grow in a new, exciting direction with a focus on emotional intelligence,
known as Embracing Emotions—a way for girls to understand and steward their feelings in maturity and grace. Christian parents are hungry for support and AHG has three decades of wisdom to share— the time is now, and the Lord has provided. The ministry grew the Raising Godly Girls parent resource ministry to include nearly 1,000 radio minutes that air on over 1,100 stations in the U.S., eight e-books, and a thriving podcast with new episodes airing three times weekly. AHG Members benefit from solid Program Alliance connections, providing new patch programs, educational depth through exclusive memberships like Museum of the Bible, and aligned resources like RightNow Media, Operation Christmas Child, and many more. In 2025, this multi-generational ministry is opening the door to a fresh crop of volunteers with the Embracing Wisdom initiative, aimed at bringing in faithful women to shepherd God’s girls.
30 YEARS & THE LAYERED PEARL
The gift that the Lord has given AHG and all those who have been touched by the ministry is PRICELESS. As 30th anniversaries go, this is AHG’s year of the pearl. It represents honesty, wisdom, rarity, purity, and love. In the last three decades, God has added a resilient layer of dependence on Him, faith in His plan, and joy in His blessings year after year. In 20252026, as AHG celebrates the greatest gift of all—the pearl of great price, Jesus (Matthew 13:45-46), members humbly bow in remembrance of how He has brought the ministry to where it is today. The life of American Heritage Girls is both personal and collectively unifying. The journey that Patti walked in 1995 required her family to step out into what felt like lonely territory. And for each girl and family who has been impacted by that obedient and adventurous spirit, they too have joined the journey. In looking back, we must simultaneously look ahead—because God is beckoning each of us to take the next step. To again follow Patti’s lead, “We bow in humility to the God who provides, our Jehovah Jireh What a gift it is to see the fruits of our labor in our lifetime—I truly, truly believe this is a treasure befitting a loving and merciful God. With each step, let us remember: Only God could have orchestrated a legacy like this.”
FACES OF THE AHG NATIONAL
In July 2025, 2,000 AHG Adult and Girl Members gathered at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio to celebrate AHG’s 30th Birthday. The ministry’s legacy was reflected in a host of program alliances and speakers lending their wisdom and vision to those in attendance. Six women shared as keynote speakers during the two-day event. Keep reading for a snapshot of their leadership and why their words will continue to resonate throughout the ministry for years to come.
PATTI GARIBAY
AHG’S FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR EMERITUS
What did it mean for you to see AHG’s 30-year journey celebrated at this year’s convention?
It was hard to believe that 30 years had passed so quickly. However, when I look at where we started and where the Lord has led us, I do feel and recall the experiences of the past 10,957 days! When I could take it all in at Convention, it was overwhelming. Before the first session began, I looked over the main session seats and could see in my mind’s eye over 2,000 souls that would be fed over the next few days. And, I heard the Lord ask, like He often has, “Are you grateful?” And I replied, “Father, I am grateful, indeed!” To spend time with girls, adults, ministry partners and our amazing National Board and Staff was a blessing beyond measure… it was PRICELESS!
What does it mean to you to pass the sacred keys of ministry on to Rachael as she leads AHG forward into the coming decades?
It means stability and innovation. It means generational love and foundational values. It means a future that is bright and optimistic and relevant to today’s families, who wish to raise their daughters in the way they should go. Rachael has the faith, intellect, chutzpah, and the optimism that it will take to bring AHG into its next 30 years.
It was hard to believe that 30 years had passed so quickly.
RACHAEL CULPEPPER
AHG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
As a new executive director, what does it mean to receive the sacred keys of ministry from Patti, your mom, as you lead AHG in the coming decades?
As I begin a new chapter at American Heritage Girls, I am honored to have witnessed firsthand God’s faithfulness over the years and am committed to follow the Lord’s leading as I steward His ministry for the next season. The Gospel Message is at the heart of not only what AHG has been, but what it will be for future generations. I am passionate about the current AHG Program, not only have I been hearing the amazing stories of girls, family, and community impact over the past 30 years, but I am now witnessing it first-hand with my own daughter.
But mostly, I want AHG to be where the Lord is. To be in the center of His will, His goodness, His love. To walk in the ancient paths. We’re at a crossroads, with lots of opportunity before us. I was reminded recently of a passage in Jeremiah 6:16, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.’” So that’s what we’re asking—for the Lord to show us His path forward—His good way.
I want AHG to be where the Lord is. To be in the center of His will, His goodness, His love.
DR. KATHY KOCH
FOUNDER & CEO, CELEBRATE KIDS, INC.
Looking out at a room full of 2,000 girls in pink shirts will never leave my memory.
What key takeaway would you offer girls from your Convention Keynote Speech?
Trust that God has done a very, very good thing to make you—YOU. Use His Word when you need to reflect on life, not a mirror.
What is your favorite memory from the AHG National 30th Anniversary Convention?
Looking out at a room full of 2,000 girls in pink shirts will never leave my memory. They were joyful, teachable, humble, and obviously mature. The women in the audience were impressive. It encourages me deeply when I think about the future.
In what specific ways are you encouraged by the direction of AHG’s Ministry in building women of integrity as the next generation of Christian leaders?
I agree with AHG that Biblical character is a game-changer; when we have Christ’s heart for people and the issues of the day, we get to speak truth in ways to inspire others to join us in the mission of God.

DANNAH GRESH
FOUNDER & CEO, TRUE GIRL MINISTRIES
In what specific ways are you encouraged by the direction of AHG’s Ministry in building women of integrity as the next generation of Christian leaders?
I’m so thankful for Patti, Rachael, and the beautiful way they displayed integrity in the passing of the baton of leadership. This is not just a ministry that teaches integrity. Its leaders live it. There are so many operational moments that you witness with AHG that demonstrate this. Keep it up!
What key takeaway would you offer girls from your Convention Keynote Speech?
Satan loves to label us: unworthy, sinful, dumb. God loves to label us, too, and He writes His words to describe us down in His Word. “Blessed.” “Chosen.” “Loved.” “Forgiven.” Here’s the difference. Satan is the “father of lies” (John 8:44). Jesus is the Truth that sets us free (John 8:31, 32). Don’t believe the lies. Rip those labels off, and get into your Bible. It is where you will discover the truth about yourself, God, and this wonderful world.

CO-FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RADIANCE FOUNDATION
I pray all were encouraged to grab ahold of a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus.
What key takeaway would you offer girls from your Convention Keynote Speech?
As the last keynote speaker of the Convention, my hope was to commission the girls to “GO and G.R.O.W.”! All of the attendees doing a baseball stadium wave as a reminder to keep momentum going when they returned home was amazing! I pray all were encouraged to grab ahold of a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus.
In what specific ways are you encouraged about the direction of AHG’s Ministry in building women of integrity as the next generation of Christian leaders?
AHG’s Ministry is so powerful. I am deeply encouraged by the incredible partnerships fostered through the patch programs. The variety of hobbies, sports, and experiences these programs offer expose the Girl Members to remarkable adventures. They expand the girls’ understanding of God and His involvement in every area of our lives. I absolutely love that Radiance Foundation’s patches (She is She and Pro-Life Kids!) are part of those options!

from RADIANCE BOMBERGER:
I loved the AHG SWAPS! My favorite was the crocheted octopus. It was soooo cute. Reminding the girls that they are bright lights in an otherwise dark culture was really important for me. It is not always easy to represent Christ in the world. But, when we understand that God’s light is in us and shines through us, we can keep our minds and hearts focused on Him and He will do the rest.
from ALIYAH BOMBERGER:
I loved EVERY SINGLE AHG SWAP I received! My top two favorites would be the coveted fruit basket and the pretty white seashell with a shiny pink pearl from Virginia Beach. I was inspired by the depth of Christian character shown by each AHG Girl Member. It was so special for me to be able to share my heart by singing ‘Believe for It’ during the final keynote.
The next generation matters deeply to God and raising them up will take all of us.
BACK2BACK
In what specific ways are you encouraged about the direction of AHG’s Ministry in building women of integrity as the next generation of Christian leaders?
I’m so encouraged by the way AHG is grounding girls in Scripture, discipleship, and leadership development. I see the next generation growing in courage, integrity, and confidence to live out their faith in today’s complex culture. That gives me hope, because tomorrow’s leaders aren’t just being taught about God’s Word, they’re being equipped to lead with it.
What key takeaway would you offer AHG supporters from your Legacy Gala Keynote Speech?
The next generation matters deeply to God and raising them up will take all of us. Our legacy isn’t in titles or accomplishments but in the lives we disciple. Supporting AHG means we are joining together to pass on faith, courage, and integrity to future leaders who will carry Christ into every corner of this globe. As a ministry leader, I deeply value financial support because I know it fuels vision and expands impact. It’s not just about sustaining programs—it’s about investing in the Kingdom. When someone comes alongside AHG financially, they are ensuring that thousands of girls encounter Jesus and are shaped into leaders who will influence families, churches, and communities for Christ.

NATIONAL ADULT
RECOGNITION RECIPIENTS
The Mission of building women of integrity is an incredible charge from the Lord given to American Heritage Girls. This task is textured with victories and difficulties, giving God a chance to show His beautiful ways of blessing the ministry with faithful and capable partners. The AHG National Adult Recognitions are a small way to recognize some of these incredible people and the outstanding work they do. AHG volunteers are invested in fulfilling the Mission of AHG, and without their partnership in building women of integrity, AHG’s impact on the lives of countless girls would not exist.
Since 1996, the AHG National Adult Recognitions have grown in depth and breadth offering volunteers a framework for establishing goals while providing a tangible gift of gratitude including uniform pins, awards, and more. In response to the Lord’s call for us to honor those who serve His Kingdom faithfully, AHG strives to follow God’s leading in this by honoring the dedicated people who joyfully serve Him and His chosen. Each year, a selection committee of AHG volunteers and staff review all qualified nominees and then casts their vote for the top recipient in each award category. This year, AHG is thrilled to announce four volunteers were nominated and selected in four award categories: the Area Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award, the Unit Leader of the Year Award, the Outstanding Alumna of the Year Award, and the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award.
SYLIA CLOUSE
Charter Representative & PI/PA Unit Leader, OK1064
OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Military families know about moving from place to place. When they are Christfollowers, they take the Gospel with them. Sylia is a devoted wife to her husband, an Air Force Chaplain. Each time the Air Force moved their family, she made finding a new AHG Troop a top priority. She has served in various volunteer roles across four different Troops, always eager to support where needed. She loves watching the girls flourish and grow throughout the year which is one of the most rewarding parts of being involved. When the family was reassigned to a new city, and discovered the nearest Troop was 55 miles away, this visionary woman and her daughter initially considered Trailblazing. However, her daughter longed for the full Troop experience. As God calls many to do, Sylia took a leap of faith and helped start a new AHG Troop in her local community. She now serves as the Charter Representative and Unit Leader for the Pioneer & Patriot Units, continuing her dedication to building Christ-centered community and leadership opportunities for girls. She is passionate about equipping the next generation of women with strong values, servant hearts, and unwavering faith—all while embracing the adventure of military life, homeschool teacher of three, and AHG Charter Representative.
Please join AHG in congratulating the recipients of the 2024-2025 Program Year AHG National Adult Recognitions!

JESSICA BICKFORD
When Jessica’s daughter joined AHG, she felt called to help. The Troop Coordinator encouraged her to lead the Pathfinders. Nervous but willing, she said yes. Week after week, she found herself deeply fulfilled by the opportunity to share, teach, and walk alongside the girls in their faith journey. By the end of the Program Year, when the Tenderheart Unit Leader stepped down, Jessica embraced the role with open arms. Jessica says, “every girl in my unit is uniquely gifted, and it brings me immeasurable joy to pour into each of them—to watch them grow in Christ and see their enthusiasm flourish with every new experience. I am grateful for this journey and excited to see what God has in store as we continue to grow together through American Heritage Girls.”

UNIT LEADER OF THE YEAR
TERESA SIROIS
AHG Area Teams are teams of local volunteers who serve a designated area of the AHG community. Area Team Members are called to step deeper into ministry with AHG to build a strong community of highly effective Troops to make the greatest impact for girls and meet specific needs in the area. Teresa is known as a dedicated AHG Area Team Member, always willing to lead a hand. As the Detroit Area Treasurer, she supports the Mission of AHG by stewarding the Area Team budget efficiently and with integrity. She also serves Troop MI0138 as the Vice Coordinator and Tenderheart Unit Leader and serves as the Registrar for Camp BFF, a Multi-Troop summer event. This amazing woman has seen her daughter go from Tenderheart to Stars & Stripes Award Recipient, which is an honor for any AHG mom. She believes in the AHG Program and embodies the AHG Oath, Creed, and Mission by her compassion, resourcefulness, and hard work. At home, she is married and has two kids. She works as a substitute teacher at a Christian school.

OUTSTANDING AREA TEAM MEMBER OF THE YEAR
RACHEL HINGST
Rachel serves her AHG Troop through many roles—a Troop Treasurer, a Pioneer & Patriot Unit Leader, and a Stars & Stripes Mentor. Her own journey through AHG from 2014 to today includes a love of the outdoors and serving—she was a Stars & Stripes Award Recipient herself in 2015. Rachel says, “I enjoy working with the girls and challenging them and helping them to develop their leadership skills and confidence.” She enjoys being on the other side of the Stars & Stripes Award process through her role as a Stars & Stripes Mentor. Something to note about this dedicated AHG Alumna volunteer—her commitment to girls’ growth and flourishing extends well into “above and beyond” territory. She devotes her summer vacation time to serving with Greater Than Rubies Camp. Her wellresearched and organized demeanor make her a terrific Troop Treasurer, helping OH0377 steward their ministry resources with the utmost of integrity. This dedicated volunteer is known for pouring both her heart and her time into serving her AHG Troop.
This distinction honors an individual and/or company who has impacted the community by raising awareness about the Mission of the American Heritage Girls. The candidate for this award demonstrates belief in the organization by taking an active role in promoting the American Heritage Girls. The Community Partner Award celebrates the ability for a visionary to share the mission of AHG across a larger population.

Since 2013, Sean has served as the Director of the Center for the New Evangelization in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He has been an unwavering champion for AHG within the archdiocese. He understands the Mission of AHG, its impact on its Girl Members and adults and the importance of aligned ministries. Sean has spent countless hours devoted to serving as an ambassador for AHG. CARRIE KILARESKI
D.C. Metro Area Coordinator
JESSICA BELLINGER
Ministry Expansion Lead
ROB RYE
President of the AHG National Board of Trustees
MOLLY PITCHER AWARD
This award, national in scope, is named after Mary Hays McCauley who shared the rigors of Valley Forge with her husband, William Hays. Her actions during the Battle of Monmouth in 1778 became legendary. Molly brought pitcher after pitcher of cool spring water, across bulletswept ground, to exhausted and thirsty men.
Carrie has quenched the thirst of girls and parents in the northern Virginia area who desire a Christ-honoring scout type ministry for their daughters. Despite hardship and obstacles this nominee brought the American Heritage Girls Program into uncharted territory, and through her belief, determination, and divine providence, made it successful. She has been a faithful AHG volunteer since 2012. At the Troop level she has been a Troop Coordinator, Vice Coordinator, Troop Shepherd, and Unit Leader and is now a Stars & Stripes Mentor. In September of 2019, she joined the D.C. Metro Area Team as the Leadership Development Coordinator where she led Adult and Girl Member leadership conferences. She is now the Area Coordinator and is continuing to grow the team and AHG in the D.C. Metro Area. Beyond this she has worked with Museum of the Bible to host overnights for hundreds of girls. She also participated in the Embracing Wisdom campaign short film and provides resources in and around Washington D.C.
MUSTARD SEED AWARD
The Mustard Seed Award was created to honor a volunteer who has a calling to share the Ministry of AHG across a region.
Jessica Bellinger has been an AHG volunteer since 2014, serving in Texas, Rhode Island, and California. From Unit Leader to Troop Registrar to Troop Coordinator and now Ministry Expansion Lead, her dedication and heart for the Mission of AHG and its girls is remarkable. She has a heart for the Kingdom and a humility that is contagious. Jessica has dedicated the last decade of her life to serving and sharing the good news of AHG across the nation.
FOUNDER’S AWARD
This prestigious award is chosen personally by AHG’s Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, Patti Garibay.
For the last twelve years Dr. Rob Rye has exhibited calm and provided comfort during storms, shown steadfastness during times of uncertainty, and wisdom in the selection of AHG’s next leader. From his first time as an attendee at an AHG leadership conference after recently being recruited to fill the role of Troop Coordinator of a large legacy Troop in California, to ultimately leading the National Board of Trustees through COVID-19 turmoil and transition, Rob has never wavered in his belief in the importance of the AHG Ministry to this nation’s girls. His calm demeanor and thoughtful considerations have served as a rudder to the ministry as it traveled uncharted seas. This faith-filled scientist has employed both pragmatism and compassion in his leadership and decision-making. His respect for others, his ability to create community, and his loyalty have been a blessing to AHG. Serving at the highest level of the ministry has not provoked pride or haughtiness. Rather, his heart posture of servant leadership has inspired the National Board of Trustees to be both gracious and objective. He has stretched himself outside of his comfort zone more times than he can count, but his willingness to do so is a testimony to his faith in Christ. His tethering to Christ has been a constant north star for him and for all those who have been engaged with him.

AN EXCERPT FROM MICHAELA’S SPIRITUAL WALK ESSAY:
“For much of my life, I have felt incredibly passionate about the value of life. I believe that, as humans, we are made in God’s image, and that comes with both blessing and responsibility. Because of this conviction, I knew from the beginning of my Stars & Stripes Award journey that I wanted to do something that would make an impact on the natural spaces in my community. One of the first commands that humans received in Genesis is to take care of the Earth, and I think that is a command that we have struggled to follow. Some people view protecting creation as though it is at odds with human flourishing, but I couldn’t disagree more. When the natural spaces around us are healthy and thriving, our own health and quality of life also improve. This is not something just one person or even one group of people can fix. I feel very passionate about trying to teach others about the importance of our local ecosystems and encouraging them to consider their relationship with the nature around them. I believe that so much can be learned about the nature and character of God by studying and spending time in His creation. One of the most impactful lessons that I have learned through my project is that real change cannot be done alone. As I reach the end of my AHG journey, I feel God calling me to use the skills and lessons I have learned throughout the past eight years of my life through this program to see the needs in the world around me and do whatever I can to fill them.”

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR FUTURE STARS & STRIPES AWARD CANDIDATES?
From the beginning, reflect on your “why” behind your project. This is included in your Project Idea Form and Project Development Plan for a reason. I would recommend keeping a copy of what you wrote in the “Motivation” section on hand to remind you. This became especially important to me in the moments when I was very stressed about others’ opinions and perceptions of my project. If you ever doubt whether or not your plan is too ambitious, if no one will take it seriously, remember why you’re doing this specific project. Remember why it matters to you and remember the importance of the impact it will have on others. It is very important to think beyond yourself and think of the people that you will be blessing through the completion of this project.
WHAT IMPACT HAS YOUR TIME IN AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS HAD ON YOUR LIFE?
I have learned so much about life and about myself through AHG, it is hard to imagine the person I would be without it. Not only have I had fantastic role models and an encouraging community with friends whom I love dearly, I have also learned invaluable conflict resolution and interpersonal skills. Through AHG I have met some of the strongest and kindest women I have ever known, each in a different way than another. I have been taught, challenged, and encouraged in more ways than I am aware of. I have also learned a lot about how to handle difficult situations in a Godly way because of the harder times. I know that I would rather be kind and gentle than be right. I would rather lose an argument about a difference in opinion than lose a relationship. Often the interactions that teach you the most are the ones that show you the kind of person you don’t want to be. I have learned when to let go.
BENEFITING ORGANIZATION QUOTE:

ALUMNASPOTLIGHT
MEET LIZ CHASTAIN
A WOMAN OF MANY TALENTS AND PASSIONS, WHOSE CREATIVE ENDEAVORS UNEXPECTEDLY SERVED HER BELOVED AHG MINISTRY. THROUGH NINE YEARS AS AN AHG GIRL MEMBER, LIZ LEARNED COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP, HOLDS FAST TO AHG FRIENDS IN HER ADULT YEARS, AND LOVES TO TAKE ORDINARY CAKES AND MAKE THEM INTO EXTRAORDINARY CELEBRATION CENTERPIECES.
It had to be a work of the Lord. When Becky Lipps, AHG’s Visual Brand Manager ventured to a Cincinnati-local bakery to commission a 30th birthday cake for the ministry, she had no idea that she would encounter an AHG Alumna as the cake designer. But that’s exactly what happened. Liz Chastain’s journey with AHG could be called “A Series of Divinely Ordered Events,” in fact. Her mother registered Liz as a Tenderheart at the age of seven. She enjoyed the classic AHG experience— giggles, friendship, and campouts galore. “I think my most favorite activity that we did was make Troop pins and swap them with other AHG girls at camp. It was so fun to collect them and meet friends [during those Multi-Troop events].” Some of Liz’s fondest memories from her AHG years were in God’s great outdoors. She recalls, “I believe that AHG introduced me to finding God in nature. I learned to appreciate creation in a way that I wasn’t aware of before I started the program.” Even today, Liz exudes a joy and gentleness that one finds in
Since 1995, the Mission of American Heritage Girls has been to build women of integrity
While the AHG Program targets those in girlhood, the sincerity and faith-filled spirit that is nurtured and grown through AHG continues as girls develop and mature into women.
individuals who hold gratitude and spend time with God in the outdoors. These memories also carry through her core friend group of four girls who are still Liz’s most trusted relationships today. For her, every good AHG memory is tied to this friend group.
During the AHG Program, Girl Members are afforded a wealth of leadership training opportunities. This foundation begins with reciting the AHG Creed weekly. “As an American Heritage Girl, I promise to be compassionate, helpful, honest, loyal, perseverant, pure, resourceful, respectful, responsible, and reverent.” But one word in that weekly vow echoes into Liz’s contemporary daily life—RESOURCEFUL. Liz believes the principle of resourcefulness has followed her over the decades, saying, “I believe that AHG prepared me to simply be prepared! It showed me that there are so many life skills to be learned, and that all of those skills can be applied outside of the program. I believe AHG prepared me to be a more curious student, a more considerate friend, and a more engaged citizen. […] The skills that are learned in AHG are lifelong and will be applicable in every area of my life.” Little did Liz know as a Girl Member, but today’s quote was proving providential even then. The AHG Cake Decorating Badge, easily one of the most popular among all Girl Members, was her first badge to earn as a Tenderheart delivering memories of fun and creativity for Liz. As a career woman, she is now a cake designer and artist in Cincinnati. (Hence, the fortuitous meeting with the AHG Staff Member this past summer!)
When she arrived at the bakery one June morning to see what new cake orders had come in, she realized that the form detailing a 30th birthday cake for American Heritage Girls was the same ministry she had loved for those nine years of her girlhood. Liz was delighted to get started! Per her normal process, Liz collaborated with the client, gathered inspiration, pulled in images, and sketched ideas. Red, white, blue. Stars abounding. Three tiers of classic iced goodness surrounding delectable, layered cake. The two-week window offered Liz plenty of space to explore options and then refine the final structure and style of the AHG 30th birthday cake. This design was going to be a masterpiece. One week before the AHG National 30th Anniversary Convention, Liz set to planning her ingredients— batter, icing, and embellishments. She expertly baked and built, carefully crafting and constructing. Then came the time to bring the design to life. “The decoration phase is my favorite! This one was very personal and exciting. I like to take a moment and focus on the person or group and the event. I love to give thanks to God for the opportunity to be a part of this special event. Gratitude is a big part of my process. It’s a gift to be a part of someone’s special monument in their lives.” Designing cakes is a special way that Liz sees God calling her to serve others. AHG’s tagline of “Faith. Service. Fun.” followed her even into this project.
Surprisingly, Liz studied Human Sciences and Psychology in her college years which gives insight into her other main life passion: serving as the Community Engagement Coordinator for a Cincinnati-local organization for differently-abled adults. Liz sees both sides of her life dovetailing through the shared avenue of God’s calling on her purpose. “The work is different from the bakery—but kind of the same! We’re celebrating people, how they’re made, who they are, and I love that!” Liz wants to empower AHG Troops across the nation to connect with their local organizations that serve those with neurological-based disabilities. She encourages Girl Members to “do some local research. Non-profits like this are always looking for volunteers. Buddy Walk is popular across America—in the late spring or early summer. That’s a great in-road to get involved!” No matter how girls choose to serve, it’s a natural outflow of being an American Heritage Girl. The ministry annually celebrates its birthday by serving in the over 1,300 communities where Troops are located nationwide. The week of AHG’s 30th birthday, AHG Troops will be serving in a variety of ways, some through a Program Year Themed Service Spotlight called PRICELESS Wisdom, where girls are encouraged to find ways to serve elder members of their communities. Liz, along with thousands, will eagerly watch the social media stories pour in the last week of September
and throughout the fall—vibrant snapshots of the many ways God is actively working through AHG Troops.
AHG Alumna Liz Chastain shines as an example of the program resourcing girls to adapt, grow in resilience, and to embrace womanhood in competence, passion, and vigor. She is fervent that girls remember, “If you are struggling in badgework or in life, you are not alone. It is important to remember that your Troop community is there to support you. A big reason God gives you people is to show you that you belong, that you can lean on them, and you don’t have to figure things out on your own. We are taught to be resourceful, but that’s within a group. AHG is not an individual experience.” For 30 years, American Heritage Girls has been working to build women of integrity. Liz is grateful for the nine years she had in the program. And AHG will continue its good work from generation to generation— girls discovering a sense of belonging in a Holy-Spirit-filled space to learn, grow, and thrive.

NATIONAL COLLECTION WEEK IS NOVEMBER 17-24, 2025 WEEK
For over a decade, American Heritage Girls and Operation Christmas Child (OCC) have worked together to bring the Gospel message to children across the globe. AHG encourages every girl to change a child’s life through OCC this year.
The PRICELESS message of the Gospel inspires us to work together to extend God’s love to every child this holiday season. Join the #AHGOCCPRICELESS Challenge with Troops around the country in one united focus—equipping the next generation with the tools to treasure and cultivate their relationship with their Savior and King, Jesus Christ.
Gift-filled shoeboxes are used by Samaritan’s Purse and local churches in more than 100 nations to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. From remote, hardto-reach places where the Name of Jesus has never been heard to 1,000 Pacific islands, your prayerfully packed gifts can help fulfill the Great Commission.
The AHG 30th Anniversary year carries an ongoing goal of packing 30,000 boxes. So each Troop is challenged to pack 30 or more shoeboxes. Troops meeting this goal will be entered into a drawing to win an OCC-themed Pizza Party with representatives from OCC and a former Shoebox Recipient, OCC Swag, and a whole lot of fun for the winning Troop! To qualify for the drawing, Troops must submit their shoebox counts by December 1, 2025. The winning Troop will be announced in January 2026.
Troops packing 100+ shoeboxes will receive an OCC Logo Patch directly from OCC for participating girls.
Don’t forget, packing your shoebox is just the start! Be sure to cover the ministry costs associated with each shoebox through a small donation. By including this donation, you’re covering the shipping and handling costs associated with getting a box to a child in need, allowing OCC to spread the joy of the Gospel across the globe. Plus, if you give online, you can “Track Your Box” and see its journey to the recipient!
Join American Heritage Girls across our nation in praying for the families and communities blessed by Operation Christmas Child—that they are receptive to the Good News of Jesus Christ and that the Gospel message will transform their communities.

HOW DO YOU SEE MINISTRY INITIATIVES LIKE AHG BELONG AND THE EMBRACING WISDOM RECRUITMENT TOOLS BENEFITING TROOPS?
Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily “grind” of Troop life that we forget to look beyond the families that are currently involved. Recruitment initiatives are great tools to remind us to look with a wider scope! The #AHGBELONG initiative has helped encourage our Troop Members to look to their other circles of their personal community and bring people in.
I am super excited about the Embracing Wisdom Digital Recruitment Kit because it reaches back to an entire segment of society that often is forgotten. As a culture, we really do not value those who are no longer in the moment of child rearing, but as we embrace the wisdom of those who have lived life, the results can be exponential! Not only do we engage a group of individuals who are often relegated to the fringes of society, and we remind them of their own value, but we also teach our children that they can grow in their own lives by learning from those who have gone before. What a fantastic way to connect both sides—a group often left out with a group who needs to hear Biblical truth from someone other than their parents! God designed our culture to be multi-generational and having that focus to build those bonds will no doubt strengthen relationships between Troop Members, community members and even members’ personal relationship with Christ.
IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU SEE TROOPS IN YOUR AREA CONNECTING, SERVING, AND ADVANCING GOD’S KINGDOM THROUGH AHG?
Over the years, Troops in our AHG Area have worked to build relationships through Multi-Troop events. As they have connected with each other, girls have developed deep and lasting friendships, often challenging each other in their
personal walks with the Lord. I see girls keeping each other accountable to prayer, extending forgiveness, and growing in purity of heart. There are countless girls who remained in the AHG Program simply for the opportunity to see their friends at the next big Multi-Troop event.
WITHIN THE SCOPE OF AHG’S 30 YEAR HISTORY, HOW DO YOU SEE THE MINISTRY ACTIVELY SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF GODLY GIRLS THROUGH YOUR AREA?
In my 17 years of involvement, I’ve seen personal growth in the girls who have been through the AHG Program. Both in their relationship with the Lord and in their life skills, they have grown and “spread their wings”. Many of those girls are now adults, starting and leading their own families and/or impacting others in their chosen career fields. As adults, they are sharing Jesus!
As volunteers, we have worked to build Godly foundations in our daughters and those who have been in AHG in the past. It is exciting to see this endeavor continuing as these women extend the same legacy to their daughters and/or in their communities. From Scripture, we know that God’s Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). What has been invested in those girls has not been in vain. The Lord is faithful to work on their hearts and in their lives, and they will impact those around them!
AHG is a wonderful tool to point our girls in the direction of Jesus Christ—we offer the opportunities for that relationship with Him to grow—HE takes care of the harvest, we just have to be willing to serve. As volunteers have poured into the girls of AHG over the last 30 years, we now have the opportunity to see the next generation step into similar roles with the same mission: to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. I heard it said a few days ago that a legacy isn’t what we leave behind, but rather the impact
that those we influence leave behind! As AHG volunteers, our legacy echoes in the influence that those we serve have on the lives they touch.
AS AN AREA TEAMS VOLUNTEER,
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT IN THE YEARS TO COME?
I believe as AHG Area Teams roll out across the country and eventually every Troop is part of an Area, then these Troops will have an increased level of support and encouragement. They will have greater opportunities to build community with the other Troops near them, resulting in greater impact in their geographical vicinity. As more Charter Organizations embrace AHG as a ministry of their local church, we will have Kingdom growth because not only will the Troop touch lives, but the Charter Organizations will have the opportunity to minister into the community through the willing vessels of Troop Members as they serve.
Area Teams help facilitate and equip our Troops to better serve! Area Teams can multiply the reach into the community in the name of Christ. When we reach the community, we enable the Charter Organization to better disciple and guide those lives into a deeper relationship with Christ. When people have a deeper relationship with Christ, they want to serve as His Hands and Feet. What a win! Area Teams are helping to enable that harvest for the Kingdom! We seek first the Kingdom of God, and everything else is a bonus! Area Teams enable that process to be more powerful and more effective.

AHG EMBRACES MULTIGENERATIONAL VOLUNTEERS IN 2025-2026 INITIATIVE
Did you know American Heritage Girls has 27,000 girls waiting to join a Troop? It’s a wonderful problem to have. Our biggest need, however, is more Godly women to lead these future Girl Members. AHG thrives thanks to dedicated volunteers who pursue Godly lives and selflessly invest in the next generation of Christian women. With a punctuated need for new Troops and Troop Multiplication nationwide, AHG embarked upon an initiative spanning the 2025-2026 Program Year and beyond to welcome in a seasoned generation of new volunteers. The initiative is called Embracing Wisdom. In collaboration with a D.Cbased film company Distant Moon Productions, AHG sought to tell the story of the impact girls’ experience when a Godly woman invests in her life over the years. The result: a sacred snapshot into the beautiful tapestry of healthy volunteer-Girl Member relationships. Stories of a renewed sense of purpose, shedding the burden of loneliness, and consistent joy for both the Troop Girl Members and the volunteers themselves. AHG is resourcing the over 1,300 Troops across the U.S. with easy-to-use resources through a Digital Recruitment Kit, opening the door for more volunteer recruitment in the coming months and years. Digital marketing through AHG, Inc. will continue into 2026.

A NOTE FROM ROB RYE, AHG NATIONAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES PRESIDENT, KALISPELL, MT
American Heritage Girls is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement. AHG is built on healthy, loving relationships. Loneliness, identity confusion, bitterness, lack of direction, so much of the distress we see in our society comes down to one thing: lack of those very relationships. AHG’s big vision provides the context for the little things that make relationships thrive.
The wonder of AHG is its impact in and through thousands of girls who have grown into women of integrity. AHG makes its impact through the ordinary parts of life—like what happens around kitchen tables strikingly similar to the one AHG was founded around—the extraordinary that can only emerge when ordinary people choose to let God shape them as He plans.
In a very real sense, we celebrate the legacy of a humble man who asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Why curse the darkness, when you can light a candle?” Thirty years ago, an ordinary wife and mother, Patti Garibay, was inspired by her father’s question. She lit a candle and showed us how to become extraordinary. In AHG’s 30th anniversary year, we celebrate the lives that have already been changed, and we eagerly look forward to celebrating the hundreds of thousands who will join the journey in this new chapter.
I invite you to invest in the future of a ministry that takes ordinary girls, and ordinary parents, and instills the
