Next have a range of clothing with utility details and according to WGSN” UtilityDetails continue to be an essential

Strong use of visual merchandising in the store, with eye catching mannequin's displaying best sellers

Next’s denim Shacket has contrast stitch detailing, which is popular as seen on a Carhartt Jacket. Its also dark denim which is currently popular according to (Vogue,2024).

According to Peclers (2024) red is trending (Peclers,2024). Next have incorporated a range of red shades into their collections.

According to GQ(2024) neutral colours are runway popular as they make clothes more versatile (GQ,2024). Next has a range of neutral colours in their menswear.

Create a chunky knit jumper with a Camouflage print(GQ,2024).

Create a wide leg carpenter jean, with a matching trucker jacket, that both have contrast stitch detailing. (WGSN,2024).

WGSN (2024) says the topcoat will be on trend, the coats elevated with design details from the “dark nights trend” which includes leather and a dark colour palette (WGSN,2024).

Weaknesses

According to Peclers (2024) “Creative office” is trending which includes pinstripe baggy trousers. (Peclers,2024).

Next currently do not offer a pinstripe baggy trouser.

According to WGSN (2024) Wide leg jeans have been a popular, runway trend (WGSN,2024). Next currently do not do a wide leg jean for men.

According to WGSN (2024) Denim on Denim is a must have, particularly a trucker jacket paired with matching jeans (WGSN,2024). Next do not stock a matching denim and jean set.

Loewe and other top designers are showing exaggerated chunky knits across the runways however Next only currently offer normal cable knits.

Threats

According to GQ (2024) Camo is trending again (Gq,2024). Competitor of Next John Lewis have included camo print in their collection however it is missing from Nexts.

Create a collection which leans into the City Streetwear Style target customer, with more of a grungy, creative style by incorporating spider graphics, which have been trending on Tiktok.

Include a wide leg pinstripe trouser (Peclers,2024).

Carpenter jeans are trending across social media,worn by various influencers however Next don’t stock any but competitor John Lewis does.

On the high-street retailers Urban Outfitters and Zara focus on a City Streetwear style, allowing them to reach a wider range of customers.

According to WGSN (2024) panelled fleeces will be trending for A/W 25/26/ however, Nexts competitor M and S has a fleece designed that is closer to high fashion than Next.
