Even as a child, interior stylist Bea Mombaers was already fascinated by unusual objects with a unique story. Being able to translate her love for beautiful things into her own lifestyle label today is a dream come true. It was her B&B in Knokke that gave Bea the idea to inject her DNA into the Bea for Serax interior design line. Weather-resistant lounge sofas, comfortable bean bag chairs, graphic black steel wall racks, atmospheric lighting, decorative mirrors, sturdy concrete trays, and contemporary bistro and side tables, all of them statement pieces that stand out in in every room.

Ever since she was a young girl, Bea Mombaers had dreamed of pursuing her fascination for unusual finds and unique objects for a professional career. From a passionate seeker of things, she grew into one of the foremost women on the Belgian art and design scene. Over the past twenty years, her unrivalled sense of atmosphere and attention to detail have rewarded her with a widespread international reputation as an interior stylist with a prestigious portfolio, and publications in several leading lifestyle magazines. Her lifestyle boutique 'Items' in Knokke is known to be the number one reference for exclusive collector's items and coups de cœurs. About ten years ago, Bea Mombaers extended her recognisable signature style to a conceptual design bed & breakfast in Knokke Zoute, where she created an inspirational experience for interior design enthusiasts and peace seekers. In her search for new challenges, Bea Mombaers constantly scans the creative boundaries and seeks the company of emerging artists from various disciplines. In line with her professional activities, Bea now joins forces with Serax to unleash on the world an eponymous lifestyle collection that perfectly illustrates her unconventional universe. In addition to an extensive handbag line with a well thought out design, the Belgian lifestyle label also includes a coherent interior collection inspired by the B&B's eclectic house style. Think of weather-resistant lounge sofas to sink into the whole year round, contemporary bistro and side tables for intimate al fresco dinners, comfortable bean bag chairs, sturdy concrete trays, black steel graphic wall racks, decorative mirrors, and atmospheric lamps. Van een gepassioneerde dingenzoeker groeide ze uit tot een van de frontvrouwen van de Belgische kunst- en designscene. Met haar een onovertroffen gevoel voor sfeerschepping en oog voor detail wist ze de afgelopen twintig jaar een internationale reputatie op te bouwen als interieurstyliste met een prestigieus portfolio en publicaties in enkele toonaangevende lifestylemagazines. Par son sens inégalé pour le décor d'ambiance et le souci du détail, elle est parvenue au cours des 20 dernières années à se forger une réputation internationale comme styliste d'intérieur, avec un portefeuille varié et prestigieux de clients, de réalisations et de publications dans des magazines lifestyle de premier plan. Sa boutique ‘Items’ à Knokke est connue comme l'adresse de référence pour les articles de collection exclusifs et autres coups de cœur. Il y a une dizaine d'années, Bea Mombaers a greffé sa patte caractéristique dans son Bed & Breakfast design à Knokke Le Zoute, dont elle a fait un lieu d'inspiration pour les amateurs de déco d'intérieur et les vacanciers en quête de quiétude. Serax is the brainchild of SERge and Axel Van Den Bossche. Two brothers who were brought up amidst the flowerpot trade in their mother’s business. over the past thirty years, the small-scale business that started up in a garage in 1986 has grown into a multinational with over 65 employees and a head office in Antwerp. In 1991 their nephew Frank Lambert joined the company. Today, the company is led by Axel. Axel’s wife – Marie Michielssen – is Serax’ house designer. She is the creator of, amongst other things, the famous ‘Cactus Vase’. Serax is a family business where passion runs through the veins.

WE DESIGN HAPPINESS
All Serax collections – from tableware, glass, and furniture to flowerpots and lighting – are all carefully chosen for the purpose of creating interiors that bring happiness. The interior of a home is the mirror of the personality of the people living in it. Therefore, Serax and its team of designers only selects and edits products that have soul.
Working with well-known and lesser known designers is built into Serax’ DNA. In 1990, the brand started a tentative collaboration with Peter Arts, which was quite revolutionary in the florist design industry. one year later, Serax achieved international fame, thanks to the collaboration with floral artist Daniel ost, who designed ‘The Flower Booth’ for the French design fair Maison & objet. The seed was planted. Since then, Serax has entered into dozens of partnerships that have resulted in renowned collections and success at an international level.

WE HAVE A TABLEWARE LOVE STORY When founder Axel met ceramic artist Roos van de Velde in 2009, he wasn’t aware that this encounter would change the future of his company forever. After the launch of her tableware collection, starred restaurants from all over the world suddenly lined up to order from Serax. Today, Serax is the number one reference for Michelin chefs to provide them with the necessary creative porcelain or ceramics that enhance the aesthetics of their dishes. 4 50
