The 7,288-hectare nature park was established in 1974 and, together with the regional conservation area of the Seiser Alm, forms a natural unit. The mountainous woodland around Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten as well as the Tschamin valley belongs to the nature park. The Rosengarten massif and the Schlern mountain, which give this nature park its name, along with their impressive mountain towers, are also considered one of the landmarks of South Tyrol.

Guest card

“Südtirol Guest Pass”

The Guest Pass facilitates holidaymakers’ the exploration of the Dolomites region Seiser Alm as well as the wider region of South Tyrol, providing a single-ticket access to all types of public transport, such as train and bus. The Südtirol Guest Pass is a benefit card that you will receive at one of the participating accommodations in the villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten. The Guest Pass is included in the room rate and is valid for the entire duration of your stay. It is personal and non-transferable. Accommodations on the Seiser Alm do not provide the Südtirol Guest Pass. New: The Guest Pass is now available only in digital form. You will receive it at check-in directly via email on your smartphone. If desired, the digital guest card can also be printed. With Smart Check-In, you have the option to obtain the Guest Pass before your arrival.

Dogs don’t get the Guest Pass and have to pay the regular fare in the busses of the Public Transport Services. The transfer of dogs in the shuttle busses is free of charge.

Public Transport Buses

On public buses all tickets of the Public Transport Services are valid. The tickets are issued on the bus. Also the Guest card “Südtirol Guest Pass” is valid on all public services. Tickets for the Shuttle-Buses (1-day, 3-day and 7-day, Combi Card and Seiser Alm Card Gold) are not accepted on public services. Children (0-5) free of charge.

Seiser Alm Express (Bus Route 10): Seis > Kastelruth > Seiser Alm

The Seiser Alm Express is included only in the Combi Card and the Seiser Alm Card Gold. All other tickets are not valid not even the Südtirol Guest Pass. When purchased individually, a round-trip ticket costs 30.00 €. You can purchase tickets directly on the buses.

Traffic regulation on the Seiser Alm

The road to the landscape conservation area Seiser Alm is closed to private traffic from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. During this time you can get to the Seiser Alm with the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway or by bus. You can return from Compatsch at any time. Guests, who have booked an accommodation on the Seiser Alm, have the following special permission to use their cars:

> You can arrive and depart from and to the accommodation you have booked at any time.

> During your stay you can drive from your hotel to Compatsch before 10.00 am and after 5.00 pm. Between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm private traffic is not allowed on the Seiser Alm.

Our village centers are subject to traffic-reducing measures and at certain times there are total bans on traffic. The times when traffic is banned vary according to the season. Please note the appropriate information signs. Parking your caravan overnight outside the camping place is forbidden.
