The 7,288-hectare nature park was established in 1974 and, together with the regional conservation area of the Seiser Alm, forms a natural unit. The mountainous woodland around Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten as well as the Tschamin valley belongs to the nature park. The Rosengarten massif and the Schlern mountain, which give this nature park its name, along with their impressive mountain towers, are also considered one of the landmarks of South Tyrol.

To obtain discounts, you have to be present and able to show your ID.

In the cableway cabins and the shuttle buses and also in the stations dogs are obligated to wear a muzzle. The Roundtrip Ticket is included in the Skipass. The Combi Card and the Nordic Pass are not transferable and are available at all cash desks of the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway, at the Tourist Offices of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and at some accommodation.

Combi Card:

Kids, born 2018-2026, and people in wheelchairs ride free of charge. Juniors, born 2008-2017 pay only half fare.

Nordic Pass: Juniors, born after 01.01.2010, pay only half fare.

*The Guest Card “Südtirol Guest Pass” from Dolomites region Seiser Alm, which is not available for purchase and is issued free of charge to the guests by the accommodation, includes a price reduction for the Combi Card and for the Nordic Pass.

Bicycle transport

The bicycle transport is charged:

Guest card

“Südtirol Guest Pass”

The Guest Pass facilitates holidaymakers’ the exploration of the Dolomites region Seiser Alm as well as the wider region of South Tyrol, providing a single-ticket access to all types of public transport, such as train and bus. The Südtirol Guest Pass is a benefit card that you will receive at one of the participating accommodations in the villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten. The Guest Pass is included in the room rate and is valid for the entire duration of your stay. It is personal and non-transferable. Accommodations on the Seiser Alm do not provide the Südtirol Guest Pass.

New: The Guest Pass is now available only in digital form. You will receive it at check-in directly via email on your smartphone. If desired, the digital guest card can also be printed. With Smart Check-In, you have the option to obtain the Guest Pass before your arrival.

Dogs don’t get the Guest Pass and have to pay the regular fare in the busses of the Public Transport Services. The transfer of dogs in the shuttle busses is free of charge.

Attention: The Guest Pass is not valid for the following lines:

Attention: In the Shuttle Buses and in the buses of the Public Transport the Guest Pass must be validated in case of every journey.

There are several car parks/multistorey car parks available to you in all built-up areas. Please note that the parking spaces bordered in blue are subject to a charge. You can get tickets from the appropriate vending machines. All other parking spaces are free of charge, but some are timelimited. There is a spacious free bus and car park at the valley station of the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway.

On public buses all tickets of the Public Transport Services are valid. The tickets are issued on the bus. Also the Guest card “Südtirol Guest Pass” is valid on all public services. Tickets for the ShuttleBuses (1-day, 3-day and 7-day, Combi Card and Nordic Pass) are not accepted on public services. Children (0-5) free of charge.

Seiser Alm Express (Bus Route 10): Seis > Kastelruth > Seiser Alm

The Seiser Alm Express is included only in the Combi Card and the Nordic Pass. All other tickets are not valid not even the Südtirol Guest Pass. When purchased individually, a round-trip ticket costs 30.00 €. You can purchase tickets directly on the buses. Kids, born 2018-2026, free of charge. The purchase of the tickets Combi Card and Nordic Pass is not possible on the bus.

Almbus (Bus Route 11): Compatsch > Ritsch

The Almbus is included only in the Combi Card and in the Nordic Pass. All other tickets also the Südtirol Guest Pass are not valid.

regulation on the Seiser Alm

The road to the landscape conservation area Seiser Alm is closed to private traffic from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. During this time you can get to the Seiser Alm with the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway or by bus. You can return from Compatsch at any time. Guests, who have booked an accommodation on the Seiser Alm, have the following special permission to use their cars:

> You can arrive and depart from and to the accommodation you have booked at any time.

> During your stay you can drive from your hotel to Compatsch before 10.00 am and after 5.00 pm. Between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm private traffic is not allowed on the Seiser Alm.

Our village centers are subject to traffic-reducing measures and at certain times there are total bans on traffic. The times when traffic is banned vary according to the season. Please note the appropriate information signs. Parking your caravan overnight outside the camping place is forbidden.

The snow-covered, sun-kissed Seiser Alm is a true paradise for cross-country skiers, o ering 80 km of cross-country tracks at altitudes between 1,800 and 2,200 meters and of di erent levels of di iculty and di erent lengths: from just 1.4 kilometers for beginners up to 15.4 kilometers.

The tracks are groomed double or quadruple and prepared for both skating and classic cross-country styles. With overview maps available at all key points, skiers can easily find their way around. Due to the low-oxygen, high-altitude air, the Seiser Alm is also very popular for international top teams, who come here for professional high-altitude and endurance training.

The Saltria-Monte Pana track connects the Seiser Alm with Val Gardena. Together, the two areas form a cross-country skiing region with around 100 km of trails. Moreover, the Seiser Alm/Val Gardena cross-country skiing area is part of Europe’s largest cross-country carousel – Dolomiti NordicSki – with more than 900 km of trails in the heart of the Dolomites.
