The Easy Drinking segment is the fastest-growing area, fuelled by demand for sessionable beers suited to long on-premise occasions. Mid-strength remains dominant, reflecting health-conscious choices and a preference for lighter, more “permissible” options.
On tap, diversity is rising as Beyond Beer formats like RTDs, seltzers and flavoured extensions now account for one in six taps. Beer still holds the majority share, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of social occasions.
Consumers are gravitating towards classic trademarks for comfort and value, alongside trends favouring familiar flavours, low bitterness and low-carb options. Moderation is a strong cultural driver, especially among younger drinkers, with 65% of 18–24-year-olds aiming to reduce alcohol intake.
Adjacent categories such as Cider and Ginger Beer add flavour variety, with Ginger Beer accelerating thanks to its gender-neutral appeal and refreshment.
