hen Madeline wished to a star in the night sky, she felt like her wish never immediately came true. Wishes were curious things, she thought, coming true sometimes long after they were whispered.
Now elsewhere, many miles away, Saul’s wish materialized before his eyes. So he made another wish, but that one didn’t come true right then, because across the sea, Anthony’s wish was coming true, and then Nancy’s, and Jeremy’s wishes too. It seemed as though everyone’s wishes were coming true at once… and even Madeline’s wish came back around to her! Those are the secret lives of wishes. When you make a wish, someone else’s deepest desire sparks to life. That person could be across the ocean or standing beside you, just up the sidewalk or thousands of miles down the road. The wish could be large or small, tangible or intangible. But for every wish that’s whispered, another materializes for some lucky soul, around and around the world, day after day. That’s the power of a wish. That’s the soul of a dream. So make many wishes. Make them with good intentions and pure heart, knowing that within your hope lies the power to make someone else’s dreams come true…
