Tra Torre, silenzi, e un tramezzino
La scorsa settimana è stato freso pubblico l'importo esatto dei fondi raccolti in Australia per L'Aquila: $4.904.000. È la prima volta che la cifra viene divulgata e i soldi sono già depositati su un conto presso la Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di L'Aquila, con altri 100.000 euro di interessi che si aggiungeranno alla ricostruzione della Torre Civica. Fino a quel momento, il dato era stato tenuto nascosto dietro silenzi istituzionali. Un passo importante, che arriva dopo anni di incertezze e nebbie amministrative. Perché ci sono voluti 15 anni per renderlo pubblico? La risposta è semplice: più attenzione alla "vetrina" che alla sostanza, più impegno a far sembrare che qualcosa stesse cambiando, piuttosto che fare un passo reale avanti. Nessun comunicato invece dal "Trustee For Australian Abruzzo Earthquake Appeal Fund", che ha gestito i fondi per 15 anni. Nessuna risposta alle richieste di chiarimenti, nessuna informazione sulla gestione del denaro raccolto. È inaccettabile che una comunità che ha donato con generosità sia stata esclusa da qualsiasi comunicazione su una questione così delicata. Questa mancanza di trasparenza ha alimentato sospetti e minato la fiducia, creando un vuoto difficile da colmare. Anche l'incontro con la delegazione aquilana a Sydney ha sollevato dubbi. Quello che doveva essere un confronto reale si è trasformato in una passerella per pochi, in un evento senza anima, con un "modesto rinfresco" in un centro culturale semi-deserto. La comunità abruzzese di Sydney sembrava all'oscuro di tutto. Se l’evento fosse stato meglio organizzato, forse ci sarebbe stata più partecipazione e qualche volto in più al rinfresco. Il vero nodo è la mancanza di un cambiamento reale. La ricostruzione non è solo fisica, ma anche sociale e culturale. Mentre la Torre Civica verrà ricostruita, sarebbe ora di ricostruire anche la fiducia perduta in questi 15 anni di silenzi e promesse infrante. La vera sfida oggi è ridare vita a una comunità, partendo dalla verità e dalla trasparenza, che ormai sembrano un lusso in una comunità che fatica a fare i conti con le proprie ombre.

Over the decades Joan was instrumental in the organisation of the Wentworthville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parades which encouraged the involvement businesses, schools, sports clubs and charities. In her role as the Chair of the Chamber of Commerce she always listened to the concerns of shopkeepers and saw it her responsibility to seek solutions to issues. Joan’s true passion has been her involvement at Club Marconi since 1995 as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. In 2011 she assumed the role as President of the Ladies Auxiliary until today. Joan is a naturally gifted organiser of events. During her tenure as the President of the Club Marconi Ladies Auxiliary she has hosted memorable events such as the Debutantes Ball, mem-
