With a severe winter weather front moving through the U S this weekend, Texas is slated to receive its own unpleasant mix of freezing temperatures, wintery precipitation and potentially icy conditions. As a city employee, you may be asked by residents how to prepare their homes or what to do if a pipe breaks, or they cannot safely heat their home, or a vulnerable family member needs help. Follow these tips to protect your pipes and exterior faucets now In the event that you or someone you know experiences a pipe burst due to the freeze, call 936559-2900 to report the broken pipe to our Water Utilities staff

Wine Swirl 2026 is going Red, Wine, & Blue a bold and festive twist on red, white, and blue as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary Get ready for a sparkling evening filled with patriotic flair, vibrant colors, and, of course, plenty of amazing wine!
The ticketed Wine Swirl event will showcase Texas wineries, local and regional food trucks , and shopping vendors all set up along the historic brick streets of Downtown Nacogdoches
Proceeds from the Wine Swirl benefit the Nacogdoches Main Street Program, helping fund Downtown Beautification Grants, holiday décor, and exciting downtown events throughout the year

Congratulations to Animal Services Manager Theresa Jordan on her retirement from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter earlier this month Theresa joined the City in August of 2013 and was promoted to manager in 2014 During her tenure she has overseen numerous improvements to the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter and has seen over 8,000 pets adopted out to new homes during that period Theresa and her staff have dealt with all sorts of different situations and species during her tenure, including countless rabbits, ferrets, potbelly pigs, horses/ponies, goats, rooster/chickens, 1 racing pigeon (with a counterfeit band, how intriguing!), possums, raccoons, foxes, vultures and more We wish Theresa the best in the next step in her journey and thank her for her years of service and dedication to Nacogdoches and all the animals within it
