Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with Star-Spangled Storefronts!
Downtown businesses will decorate their windows with patriotic displays throughout July, and the community will vote for their favorites. Explore downtown, enjoy the creativity, and help choose the winners.
Voting takes place July 1 - 31 st st

Brick Street Burger Battle
The Brick Street Burger Battle returns this fall, bringing another season of one-of-akind burgers and friendly competition to Downtown Nacogdoches.
From September 11 through October 25, participating restaurants will serve specialty burgers created just for the challenge. Customers will rate each restaurant they visit and help decide who will earn the title of 2026 Burger Battle Champion.
Participating restaurants will be announced soon!
Public Works
Public Works crews are currently clearing the brush route in Zone 9 and the leaf route in Zone 13.
Citizens can still haul their brush and bagged lawn debris for unlimited free dumps to the City Landfill located at 4602 N.W. Stallings Dr., with their City of Nacogdoches issued water bill and ID/DL showing proof of residence.
Brush & Yard Waste Pickup
• Tree limbs and brush shall be stacked on street right-of-ways, or within 3 to 6 feet of the curb or street.
o Stacks shall not exceed 6'L X 4'W X 4'H and be limited to three piles.
o The maximum diameter of the largest limb shall not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
o Brush must be stacked in front of the residence that generated the brush.
o Brush placed on vacant lots or in the streets will not be picked up.
o Limbs should not extend into the roadway. Bagged yard waste
o Bagged yard waste collection is "ONLY" available for residential addresses.
o Bagged yard waste shall be placed within ten feet of the edge of the roadway for collection.
Yard waste must be properly bagged.
o The city will only collect 20 bags per residence per week.
o Bagged Yard Waste may also be disposed of at the City landfill, for no charge, provided that the:
-Resident provide current copy of water bill & drivers license as proof of residence.

Members of the Nacogdoches Fire Department joined other first responders and city staff at Thursday’s Picnic in the Park event, showing off their truck and gear to the many children in attendance.

Members of the Nacogdoches Police Department joined other first responders and city staff at Thursday’s Picnic in the Park event, showing off their police cars, MRAP SWAT unit and passing out stickers and coloring books. SFA’s Univeristy Police Department also had some officers and cars present to take part in the event.
Parks & Recreation Departments
Members of our Parks and Recreation Department were on hand to celebrate the Picnic in the Park event at Banita Creek Park on Thursday! Our staff handed out flyers and swag items, provided information on upcoming recreation programs and also got to show off our new Story Walk by the playground!
We had an awesome turnout for this event, which was made possible thanks to our event sponsor Eaton and our logistical partner Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation. We had many other sponsors contribute to this great event and we appreciate their support immensely!
