This week Executive Director Ashley Morgan presented a program on Nacogdoches Growth and Tourism to the Wednesday Rotary Club.
Next Thursday, the CVB Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 3pm in the Visitor Center Basement. The meeting has been moved up one week because Spring Break is the following week.
Staff are assisting with promotions around Wine Swirl, the Blueberry Festival and Freedom Fest. Event details can be found at visitnacogdoches.org/events
Municipal Court
Warrant Forgiveness Program
The Nacogdoches Municipal Court is offering a warrant forgiveness program. Through this program, all warrant fees will be removed when a citizen voluntarily contacts the court to pay a minimum of onehalf the total amount due and start a payment plan for the balance owed. Anyone that chooses to pay their fine and court costs in full will save an additional 20% off the fine amount The court will also offer assistance to individuals that may not be able to pay half down or pay in full to work out an agreeable action plan. This program will be available February through April. Anyone that comes to the court to resolve their outstanding warrants will be given safe harbor.

Nacogdoches Main Street is excited to launch the first-ever Downtown Sip Around a month-long competition spotlighting specialty drinks crafted by downtown restaurants. From mocktails to cocktails, each stop on the Sip Around will feature a unique beverage for guests to try and rate.
Modeled after the popular Brick Street
Burger Battle, this new event invites the community to sip, support local, and vote for their favorites. Stay tuned for participating locations and voting details!
Nacogdoches Wine Swirl
Mark your calendars Wine Swirl 2026 is set for Saturday, April 11 in Downtown Nacogdoches! This year ’ s theme is Red, Wine & Blue, celebrating local flavor with a patriotic twist.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 13, and include wine samples, shopping, and bites from local restaurants. Stay tuned for ticket links and event details as we get closer to one of Main Street’s signature spring events!
Nacogdoches Historic Sites
Robinsons Photo Collection: Presentation at Zion Hill presented by Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc.
Join us to learn about the preservation of the Robinson’s Studio photographic collection, featuring portraits, weddings, businesses, buildings, and Stephen F. Austin State University images dating from the 1950s through the 1980s.
With a generous grant from the Charles and Lois Marie Bright Foundation and with the assistance of Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc , the East Texas Research Center has made significant strides in preserving this important collection
This event is presented by Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc. It is free and open to the public.
Homeschool Hop Days in Lufkin and Nacogdoches
Museums and cultural sites in Lufkin and Nacogdoches are once again partnering to welcome homeschool families for Homeschool Hop Days this March.
Homeschool Hops are designated days when participating museums and historic sites open their doors to homeschool families, with many locations offering hands-on crafts, activities, and educational experiences.
Lufkin’s Homeschool Hop Day will take place on Tuesday, March 2, with Nacogdoches’ Homeschool Hop Day following on Thursday, March 5

AARP Tax Aid free tax preparation services at the library continue through April 8th. There are no age or income restrictions. Please call the library staff at 936-559-2970 to schedule your appointment.
The library staff continues to partner with area schools to provide library nights and bilingual storytimes. The next library night will be April 16th.
The library welcomes Mission Tejas on Saturday, February 28 at 1:00pm for a fun gardening program. All ages are welcome. Please register on eventbrite.com. th
Library staff will attend the Black History Expo on Saturday, February 28 at McMichael Middle School. The event is from 10am to 2pm. The library staff will be registering people for library cards and giving away books.

Public Works
Public Works crews are currently clearing the leaf and brush route with both trucks operating in zone 2.
Citizens can still haul their brush and bagged lawn debris for unlimited free dumps to the City Landfill located at 4602 N.W. Stallings Dr., with their City of Nacogdoches issued water bill and ID/DL showing proof of residence.
Brush & Yard Waste Pickup
• Tree limbs and brush shall be stacked on street right-of-ways, or within 3 to 6 feet of the curb or street.
o Stacks shall not exceed 6'L X 4'W X 4'H and be limited to three piles.
o The maximum diameter of the largest limb shall not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
o Brush must be stacked in front of the residence that generated the brush.
o Brush placed on vacant lots or in the streets will not be picked up.
o Limbs should not extend into the roadway. Bagged yard waste
o Bagged yard waste collection is "ONLY" available for residential addresses.
o Bagged yard waste shall be placed within ten feet of the edge of the roadway for collection.
Yard waste must be properly bagged.
o The city will only collect 20 bags per residence per week.
o Bagged Yard Waste may also be disposed of at the City landfill, for no charge, provided that the:
-Resident provide current copy of water bill & drivers license as proof of residence.

RAMP CLOSURE - Nacogdoches
TxDOT has closed the southbound on-ramp from SH 7 to SL 224 in Nacogdoches will close on Thursday, Feb 19 for the construction of a new ramp The closure is expected to last one to two weeks For an alternate route to US 59 S , take SH 7 to BU 59

Spring Fitness in the Park will be Saturdays in March. Spring fitness in the park will take place at Banita Creek Park starting at 9:30am. The first spring fitness in the park will be chair exercise at 9:30am and Pilates at 10am. These classes will be free to the public. Come join us for some outdoor fitness!
Spring break camp is just around the corner. Registration is open for camp and will remain open until March 8 or until full. Camp is for kids ages 5-12. Campers will do crafts, play games, and utilize the library and gymnastics room. Click here to register.
Code Enforcement
Community Cleanup Day
As the Springtime approaches and Spring Cleaning nears, the City of Nacogdoches Code Enforcement would like to offer our help in the Mill Pond Community. We are sponsoring a “Clean Up” day, where you can get rid of your unwanted “Rubbish” items for absolutely “Free”.
We will have our roll off dumpsters set up in the park where you can just drive in and unload your items, as long as you have help for unloading.
