Nel 1984 nasce la luminosa idea che ispira e muove a tutt’oggi la collezione Mvsevm. In realtà il principio ispiratore risale agli anni Sessanta, quando le opere creative dei maestri del design moderno erano visibili solo nei musei o in pubblicazioni specializzate. Rifacendosi alla tradizione del design realizzata nell’operato del Werkbund, alle teorizzazioni del “Neue Sachlichkert”, alle associazioni artistiche ed artigiane, come l’inglese Arts and Crafts, che si proponevano di collegare sinergicamente arte, artigianato e industria, si giunge a considerare in una nuova prospettiva il grande patrimonio di ricerca formale e funzionale espresso nei mobili, negli oggetti del vivere quotidiano.
Da questa intuizione, puntualmente approfondita con il passare degli anni, è nata la più ampia e coerente collezione di mobili di design prodotta e distribuita da un’unica società: la collezione Mvsevm. L’attenzione posta nell’osservare il panorama culturale del nostro secolo, alla ricerca di autori le cui opere di arredamento sono quelle che meglio esprimono il gusto contemporaneo, ha portato a riprodurre nei “Classici del mobile moderno” autori noti al vasto pubblico come Mies Van der Rohe, Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer. Insieme a questi anche altri designers altrettanto validi e di un’attualità sconcertante, ma meno conosciuti, come Jean Michel Frank, Takehiko Mizutani, Gerald Summers, Wassili e Hans Luckardt, Frederick Mallet Stevens e George Nelson.
La fedeltà filologica è alla base di questa collezione di mobili d’autore e il catalogo Mvsevm (149 prodotti con descrizione bibliografica, storia delle origini e della motivazione ideativa) si è trasformato in un ricco volume, distribuito nelle librerie come oggetto di informazione e ricerca: l’antologia di una prestigiosa serie di mobili di grande eleganza formale, che attraversano il tempo, al di là dei condizionamenti delle mode e delle tendenze. Questi complementi d’arredo, finiti con cura e aggiornati costantemente sulla base di ricerche e studi, fedeli nella forma e nella tipologia dei materiali ai progetti originali, vengono proposti al pubblico di oggi.

The inspired idea which is still today a guiding concept of Mvsevm collection originated in 1984. However the true origins go back to the 60’s, an era in which the creative works of modern design masters could only be seen in museums or specialized magazines. The grand heritage of formal and functional design as expressed in furnishings and everyday domestic objects was seen in a new light thanks to the Werkbund initiatives, the theories of the “Neue Sachlichkert” and the arts and crafts associations such as the British Arts and Crafts which provided a new insight into the dynamic merging of arts, crafts and industry. It is on the basis of this stylistic intuition, painstakingly refined and developed through the years, which
has led to the creation of an extensive and coherent collection of designer furnishings, produced and distributed by the same company: Mvsevm Collection. The deep insight into the cultural spectrum of this century, and the search for those artists who best express contemporary tastes has led to the reproduction of the works of famous masters such as Mies Van der Rohe, Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer, featured in “The Classics of Modern Furniture” range. As well as the works of less well known artists, but equally valid and amazingly up–to–date, such as Jean Michel Frank, Takehiko Mizutani, Frederick Kiesler, Gerald Summers, Wassili and Hans Luckardt, Isamu Noguchi and George Nelson.
Philological accuracy is the basis of this master furnishing collection and the Mvsevm catalogue (featuring 149 products with bibliographic description, history of the origins and creative inspiration) has been transformed into a valuable book in its own right and will be distributed in bookshops as a source of reference and information; forming an anthology of higly elegant and formal furnishings throught time, which go beyond the limitations imposed by fashion and trends. These furnishings ranges, which are continually refined and updated on the basis of studies and research, are further enhanced by the addition of new models each year which, while remaining faithful to the original designs in terms of the materials and forms, are now offered to the consumers of today.

LARA STILWOOD nella versione outdoor è progettato per garantire prestazioni elevate e massimo comfort anche negli spazi esterni. La struttura portante è realizzata in multistrato marino, materiale resistente all’umidità e alle sollecitazioni climatiche, ideale per l’utilizzo outdoor. L’imbottitura combina poliuretano espanso ad alta resilienza e viscofibra idrorepellente ecocompatibile, studiata per offrire sostegno, morbidezza e durabilità nel tempo, mantenendo inalterate le performance anche in condizioni di utilizzo intensivo. Il rivestimento è realizzato con tessuti specifici per esterni in polipropilene, altamente resistenti ai raggi UV, all’abrasione, all’acqua di mare e all’acqua clorata, garantendo solidità cromatica e prestazioni tecniche elevate. Tutti i cuscini sono protetti da fodere in poliestere idrorepellente, per una maggiore protezione e facilità di manutenzione. La base è completata da piedini in PVC, progettati per assicurare stabilità e durata nel tempo.
LARA STILWOOD in its outdoor version is designed to ensure high performance and maximum comfort even in exterior environments. The supporting structure is made of marine plywood, a material resistant to humidity and climatic stress, ideal for outdoor use. The padding combines high-resilience polyurethane foam and eco-friendly water-repellent viscofiber, developed to provide support, softness, and long-lasting durability, while maintaining its performance even under intensive use conditions. The upholstery is made with specific outdoor polypropylene fabrics, highly resistant to UV rays, abrasion, seawater, and chlorinated water, ensuring color fastness and high technical performance. All cushions are protected by water-repellent polyester covers for enhanced protection and easier maintenance. The base is completed with PVC feet, designed to ensure stability and longlasting durability.
