he highly anticipated showcase of discipline, sportsmanship, strategy, and perseverance is officially underway with nine different municipalities present, vying to triumph in 25 different individual and team sports event at the Davao del Sur Athletics Association Meet 2025.

In display of their enthusiastic cheers and energy, thousands of delegates marched towards the grounds of Malalag Central Elementary School this afternoon, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, wearing their vibrant uniforms and creative props.

A thrilling showdown of athletes who are primed to conquer the stage and bring home the glory came together in the opening ceremony, harking valuable insights from the Municipal Mayor up to the Division Schools Superintendent.

The event brought together young athletes from 9 Municipalities across the province to compete in a range of sports disciplines, promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The opening ceremony featured a

vibrant parade of more than 5,000 athletes, coaches, and officials, showcasing the unity and competitive spirit of the participants. The official theme song, "Piskay," encapsulates the energy and vibrancy of the event, reflecting the heart and soul of the DAA Meet.

With the surged of adrenaline from Malalag, Matanao, Sulop, Kiblawan, Santa Cruz, Bansalan, Padada, Hagonoy, and Magsaysay, the banners were raised as teams gear up with passion and dedication embodying athleticism and camaraderie.

The DAA Meet serves as a platform for fostering positive competition among the youth, aiming to develop their athletic skills and instill values of discipline and teamwork. The event is a testament to the

Province’s commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle among its students.

As the competitions unfold, the province eagerly anticipates witnessing the exceptional performances of its young athletes, confident that the DAA Meet 2025 will be a resounding success.

he DSSF Performing Arts Dance Troupe took center stage at the opening ceremony of the Davao del Sur Division Athletic Association Meet 2025 on Tuesday, Fberuary 4, 2025 captivating the audience with a breathtaking performance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Malalag. Over 100 dancers filled the Malalag Central Elementary School grounds with energy, rhythm, and color, as they performed seven diverse cultural dances that told the story of the Municipality’s traditions and history.

Under the direction of Sir Joachim Pallera, the dance troupe’s performance was not just an artistic display but a tribute to the local culture. "This is more than just a dance performance," Pallera said. "It is a celebration of Malalag’s cultural identity, a way of keeping our traditions alive, and a powerful reminder of our roots."

The dancers’ synchronized movements and the vibrant costumes reflected the depth and vibrancy of the community's cultural heritage.

The performances included a mix of traditional dances from various local groups, each one telling a unique story. From the graceful flow of the Tinikling to the rhythmic beats of the Sinulog, each dance captured the essence of Malalag’s diverse ethnic groups.

The audience was taken on a visual journey through the Municipality’ past, with each dance paying homage to the rituals, beliefs, and practices of the indigenous people.
