Introduction The history of RFI Arabians, formerly known as Haras Santo Antonio da Bela Vista, is a narrative filled with passion, meticulous strategy, and a profound respect for maternal lines. From the very beginning, the breeding program was carefully directed to strengthen the maternal base as the cornerstone of the breeding program. "The quality of the dams has been the key determinant of our trajectory, even though we are also recognized for producing world-class stallions," explains Leopoldo Coutinho, consultant and right-hand man to Rodrigo Forte in managing the breeding program since 1996. Rodrigo, representing the second generation of the family in charge of the breeding, adds: “One of the secrets to the
success of our breeding program is our decision to select and retain highquality mares, often resisting market pressure to sell them.” Thus, from the beginning, breeding at RFI Arabians has been carefully
