Dear Alief ISD Families, Staff, Students, and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
As we begin another exciting year in Alief ISD, I am filled with gratitude, optimism, and pride for all that we have accomplished together. Our district continues to grow stronger because of the dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff, the support of our families, and the partnership of our community.
Last year was one of tremendous progress. We celebrated academic gains across the district, expanded innovative learning opportunities, strengthened support systems for students, and continued investing in the people who make Alief ISD special. These achievements are a direct reflection of our shared commitment to excellence and our belief that every child deserves access to a world-class education.
This year, we are building on that momentum. Students will continue to benefit from expanded choice and pathway opportunities, including our Performing and Visual Arts Academies, STEM programs, Alief360 Virtual School, the new Pre-Engineering Pathway at Elsik High School, the Future Health Majors Pathway at Hastings High School, and our newest innovative learning opportunities designed to prepare students for success in college, careers, and life.
At the heart of every decision we make is our commitment to ensuring that all students are known, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. We remain focused on academic achievement, student well-being, innovation, and meaningful engagement with our families and community.

Simplifying Communication in One Platform

Alief ISD recognizes that parents/caregivers have too many communication apps and platforms to communicate with families. ParentSquare, now in its second year in the district, has helped to streamline internal and external communications for our stakeholders. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with our families.
The platform provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, and parents to:

Schedule parentteacher conferences and much more...all in one centralized place!
Parents new to the district will receive an activation email for their ParentSquare account. Those who do not register will still receive text, email, and phone notifications. Parents who create an account can interact by viewing photos, downloading attachments, leaving comments, messaging teachers, signing permission slips, and managing their communication settings and preferences.
We encourage our families to view the training video ahead of the first day of school.

How to see items/fees for your students
The sign-up process has two steps: 1) Create a free SchoolCash Online account; 2) Add your student(s) to your account profile. There are two ways to create an account:
1. Our SchoolCash system sends an invitation email to primary guardians, who can click a link in the email to start the registration process and attach their student(s) to their profile. Keep an eye out for this email!
2. Alternatively, if you missed the email, any parent can create an account by visiting our district's SchoolCash Online page. See instructions below.
How to create an account
Go to https://aliefisd.schoolcashonline.com and click Register.
Enter your first name, last name, email address, and create a password. Select a security question.
Select Yes to receive email notifications. (You will not receive any promotional emails.)
You will receive a confirmation via email. Check your Spam folder if you don’t receive it.

At the top of the page, navigate to My Account From the dropdown menu, select My Students. Click to add a child: Type Alief Independent School District, and choose your school from the list.
Enter your child’s details. You may add up to 8 students to your account. Click Confirm.

Once you have finished adding items to your cart, click Continue to make a payment.

ALIEF ISD EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROTOCOL
In the event of an emergency at your child’s school, Alief ISD will communicate to you using 1 of our 5 Emergency Response Protocol terms.
Hallways are cleared.
Students remain in classrooms.
Instruction continues.
Example: A medical emergency in the hallway
External incident, so all students are moved indoors.
Students are free to move normally inside the building. Instruction continues.
Example: Police search for burglary suspect in the neighborhood
HOLD SECURE LOCKDOWN EVACUATE SHELTER
All doors are locked.
Classroom lights are turned off.
Students and staff hide. Everyone remains quiet.
Example: Any event that poses a threat to life inside the building
Students and staff are required to leave the school building immediately. A natural or manmade event requiring students and staff to take shelter indoors.
Example: Smoke alarm or gas leak
Example: A chemical spill or dangerous weather event
IN CASE OF A SCHOOL EMERGENCY
DO keep your phone nearby to receive updates from the district. In an emergency, official communication will be delivered directly to you via the phone number you have on record with the district.
DO pay close attention to official information on how to reunite with your child in case of emergency.
DO NOT call your child's school. In an emergency, staff are trained to keep phone lines open for first responders.
DO NOT rush to your child's school. You will not be allowed entry into the school, and your presence could slow down first responders.

Safer Bus Transportation: Easy As 1, 2, 3!
The Alief Independent School District Transportation Department has the tremendous responsibility of transporting our students to and from school each day. Ensuring their safety is our highest priority. In our continuous efforts to meet our goals and exceed your expectations, we often research current market systems, explore new solutions, and examine best practices in the school bus transportation industry. As such, we have identified a solution that is one of the most technologically advanced and comprehensive systems available today.
Each of our buses is outfitted with a Samsung tablet equipped with a Radio Frequency Identification reader, mobile connectivity, and Global Positioning System. Similar to systems used in public transportation, students place their campus-supplied SMART tag ID badges on the tablet’s sensor when loading and unloading their bus. Only the student’s name and associated barcode will be printed on the ID badge. No information is stored on the badge.
New students currently enrolled for transportation services will be provided with a SMART tag ID badge at no charge. Please note, a SMART tag ID badge is required each time your child enters and exits the bus. However, rest assured, our drivers will not deny any student of transportation services if the student does not have his/her badge present at boarding time.
In just three easy steps, you and your child can have peace of mind knowing that students are safe and sound on their way to and from school. The SMART Tag electronic bus transportation system ensures that students get on the right bus and get off at the right stop.
Students are issued new school ID cards with an electronic chip SMART sensor (please do not modify the ID cards).
The tablet will display whether the rider is boarding the correct bus or getting off at the right stop.
Parents and guardians can sign up for SMART Alerts via text to notify them that their child boarded the bus or exited at the correct stop.

Al comenzar otro año emocionante en Alief ISD, me siento lleno de gratitud, optimismo y orgullo por todo lo que hemos logrado juntos. Alief ISD reconoce que los padres/tutores usan muchas aplicaciones y plataformas de comunicación para comunicarse con las familias. ParentSquare, en su segundo año en el distrito, ha ayudado a optimizar las comunicaciones internas y externas para nuestros grupos de interés. Esta plataforma de comunicación unificada está diseñada para mantener informados a los padres y tutores, y fomentar una mayor participación y conexión con nuestras familias.
La plataforma ofrece una forma segura para que los administradores de distrito, directores de escuelas, maestros, personal y padres puedan:
Enviar y recibir información de la escuela y de las clases
Compartir imágenes y archivos
Ver eventos del calendario
Inscribirse para ser voluntario
Programar conferencias entre padres y maestros
y mucho más... ¡todo en un lugar centralizado!
Los padres nuevos en el distrito recibirán un correo electrónico de activación para su cuenta de ParentSquare. Quienes no se inscriban recibirán notificaciones por mensaje de texto, correo electrónico y teléfono. Los padres que activen su cuenta podrán interactuar viendo fotos, descargando archivos adjuntos, dejando comentarios, enviando mensajes a los maestros, firmando permisos y ajustando su configuración y preferencias de comunicación.

Cómo ver los artículos/tarifas de tus estudiantes
El proceso de registro tiene dos pasos: 1) Crear una cuenta gratuita de SchoolCash en línea; Agregar a su(s) estudiante(s) a su perfil de cuenta. Hay dos maneras de crear una cuenta:
1. Nuestro sistema de SchoolCash envía un correo electrónico de invitación a los tutores principales, quienes pueden hacer clic en un enlace en el correo electrónico para iniciar el proceso de registro y agregar a su(s) estudiante(s) a su perfil. ¡Esté atento a este correo!
2. Alternativamente, si no vio el correo electrónico, cualquier padre puede crear una cuenta visitandola página de SchoolCash en línea de nuestro distrito. Vea las instrucciones a continuación.

Ingrese su nombre y apellido, dirección de correo electrónico y cree una contraseña.
Seleccione una pregunta de seguridad.

Recibirá una confirmación por correo electrónico
Revise su carpeta de spam si no lo recibe.

Escriba Distrito Escolar Independiente de Alief y seleccione su escuela de la lista. Ingrese los datos de su hijo. Puede agregar hasta 8 estudiantes a su cuenta.
Haga clic para confirmar
Selecione el artículo que desea comprar & haga clic en Añadir al carrito.
Una vez que haya terminado de añadir artículos al carrito, haga clic en Continuar para hacer un pago.

Las ganancias son a beneficio de la Fundación para la Educación de Alief ISD, una organización 501(c)(3) registrada, que ofrece becas a estudiantes destacados de 12.° grado, mini subvenciones a maestros para proyectos innovadores en el salón de clases y apoya el almacén para la distribución de uniformes escolares.
Transporte en autobús más seguro: ¡Tan fácil como 1, 2, 3!
El Departamento de Transporte de Alief ISD tiene la enorme responsabilidad de transportar a nuestros estudiantes a la escuela y de regreso a casa diariamente. Garantizar su seguridad es nuestra máxima prioridad. En nuestro esfuerzo continuo por cumplir nuestros objetivos y superar sus expectativas, investigamos con frecuencia los sistemas actuales en el mercado, exploramos nuevas soluciones y examinamos las mejores prácticas en la industria del transporte escolar. Por ello, hemos identificado una solución que se encuentra entre los sistemas tecnológicamente más avanzados e integrales disponibles en la actualidad.
Cada uno de nuestros autobuses está equipado con una tableta Samsung con lector de Identificación por Radiofrecuencia, conectividad móvil y Sistema de Posicionamiento Global. Similar a los sistemas usados en el transporte público, los estudiantes colocan sus tarjetas de identificación SMART tag, proporcionadas por la escuela, en el sensor de la tableta al subir y bajar del autobús. Solo se imprimirá el nombre del estudiante y el código de barras correspondiente en la credencial. No se almacena ninguna información en la credencial.
Los estudiantes nuevos inscritos en los servicios de transporte recibirán una tarjeta de identificación SMART tag gratuita. Tengan en cuenta que se requiere la tarjeta SMART tag cada vez que su hijo suba y baje del autobús. Sin embargo, tengan la seguridad de que nuestros conductores no negarán el servicio de transporte a ningún estudiante si no presenta su tarjeta al momento de abordar.
En solo tres pasos sencillos, usted y su hijo pueden tener la tranquilidad de saber que sus estudiantes viajan sanos y salvos hacia y desde la escuela. El sistema electrónico de transporte en autobús SMART tag garantiza que los estudiantes suban al autobús correcto y bajen en la parada correcta.
Los estudiantes reciben tarjetas nuevas de identificación para la escuela con sensor SMART de microchip electrónico (favor de no modificar las tarjetas de identificación).
La tableta mostrará si el pasajero está subiendo al autobús correcto o bajando en la parada correcta.
Los padres y tutores pueden registrarse para recibir alertas SMART por mensaje de texto para notificarles que su hijo subió o bajó del autobús en la parada correcta.

NUEVA POLÍTICA ESTATAL SOBRE DISPOSITIVOS ELECTRÓNICOS

A partir del año escolar 2026-2027, una nueva ley (Proyecto de Ley de la Cámara de Representantes 1481) prohibirá que los estudiantes de los grados PK-12 usen dispositivos electrónicos personales, incluyendo teléfonos celulares, relojes inteligentes, y tabletas o computadoras portátiles personales, durante el horario escolar.
PROTOCOLO DE RESPUESTA A EMERGENCIAS DE ALIEF ISD
En caso de emergencia en la escuela de su hijo, Alief ISD se comunicará con ustedes utilizando 1 de nuestros 5 términos del Protocolo de Respuesta a Emergencias.
Los pasillos están despejados.
Los estudiantes permanecen en los salones de clases.
La enseñanza continúa.
Ejemplo: Una emergencia médica en el pasillo
Debido a un incidente externo, todos los estudiantes se trasladan al interior.
Los estudiantes pueden moverse con normalidad dentro del edificio.

RECUERDE

Los estudiantes y el personal deberán abandonar el edificio escolar inmediatamente.
Un evento natural o provocado por el hombre que requiere que los estudiantes y el personal se refugien en el interior.
Ejemplo: Alarma de humo o fuga de gas
Ejemplo: Un derrame químico o condiciones peligrosas del estado del tiempo
EN CASO DE EMERGENCIA EN LA ESCUELA
Tenga su teléfono cerca para recibir actualizaciones del distrito. En caso de emergencia, la comunicación oficial se le enviará directamente al número de teléfono que tenga registrado en el distrito.
Preste mucha atención a la información oficial sobre cómo reunirse con su hijo en caso de emergencia.
No llame a la escuela de su hijo. En caso de emergencia, el personal está capacitado para mantener las líneas telefónicas disponibles para los servicios de emergencia.
No se apresure a ir a la escuela de su hijo. No se le permitirá la entrada y su presencia podría retrasar la llegada de los servicios de emergencia.

Un programa de elección escolar de Alief ISD ofrece a los estudiantes experiencias de aprendizaje atractivas y basadas en sus intereses en escuelas seleccionados. La inscripción se realiza mediante solicitud y los estudiantes deben cumplir con los requisitos de elegibilidad del programa. Es posible que haya transporte disponible para ciertos programas.
