P.L.U.G. is the implementation of an alternative and critical proposal to the solutions adopted to create city in the rural/urban areas. The powerful and significant growth of the cities shadow the (anarchic) urbanization process that is taking place in the rural environment. An action plan is proposed to configure the territory and allow the interaction of the different agents that make up the scene. A model of ephemeral city, mobile and changing in time and space through activity nodes connected to areas of temporary demand.

The value of the land is defined by its ancestral flora and fauna, being one of the few non-anthropic beaches along the Mediterranean coast. The project called for a building which sites on the land with a minimum footprint and increases in height to protect the natural environment. The proposal is for a Surf school and hotel which program divides on the five floors. The appeal of reinforced concrete shapes the building like milestone on the path. Its aesthetic and material qualities, along with the natural light filters, give rise to the space a primitive character.

The project is the investigation of a growth system defined by radial axis starting on the front plaza. The strategy picked allows the distribution of the health center program in separate areas and the possibility of a future growth needed, giving and unfinished visual. Consequently, the building shape is defined by the inside program. The inside configuration makes it easier to access and move through the building. At the same time, the light has a fundamental role in diagnosis and health so the design attempt to play between open close views to be able to get the maximum daylight respecting patient’s privacy.

The proposal is for a sinuous structure of a new conception of seafront. Though rather use a permanent material in such a natural environment, it is proposed a sustainable resource. In this regards, according to the analysis of the relation among the stationary use of the land, the flora and fauna and the climatological aspect, it concludes a few designing aspects and the use of the cane as the project material as it is an invasive specie. The site strategy begins with simulation of the dunes shapes, producing a unitary and dynamic development, camouflaged with its surroundings, discovered during the tour.

Every place is made up of innumerable, physical and metaphysical layers. All of those layers combined give meaning to the place. In this case, the layers will be the concept of this idea. The calcareous sediment layers are visible on the edges of the cliff. They tell us its story and how it developed throughout time. The design expects to form another layer on the Baleal Fortress. The program expects to adapt to what the fortress was in its day. Going through the only standing wall, indicating the entrance to the structure. A stage placed where there may have been a battlement, looks out towards the sea to display the horizon.

Orientation has a main role on the development of the building. The project called for the intersection of three different programs independent of each other. The painting studio, the sculpture studio and the exhibition hall are defined in individual volumes connected by two independent staircases. Any of the volumes are oriented as appropriate: painting room needs a diffuse light, sculpture room needs direct sunlight and the showroom needs indirect light thus it opens to a patio. The whole shape is the result of the three prismatic structures falling into each other.

The aesthetic understanding is directly connected with culture of the moment, it changes with people and time and what yesterday was new, today is old. Thus, I consider an intervention in the pre-existent building which look for keeping the current building (getting rid of the superfluous items) without damage it. The project consists in overlap a structure which gets to solve the building problems and a high-tech aspect in relation with the company evolution. To create continuity, therefore, an itinerary for the visitors.

The project is an ephemeral installation which try to add value to the historic city’s lighthouse which until now goes relatively unnoticed. Just with an only gesture, the material surrounds the visitor and focus their view on this patrimonial element. At the same time, the echo created by the steel produces an acoustic feeling inside the piece. The construction process is defined by a first skeleton made of eleven generatrices. Afterwards, corten steel sheets wrap the structure and are welded with each other. Finally, the structure will be moved away and it will result an unique piece. To create continuity, therefore, an itinerary for the visitors.

The concept of secular chapel does not own a concrete definition behind it. Individually, chapels produce a series of feelings promoted by qualities as silence, low temperature, shadows, echo or the emotion itself. The monumental character given to constructions dedicated to religion share the desire of “Ascension�. Such concept is preserved in the secular culture, where cities search for the already stated ascension with the same ambition (and ingenuousness). Natural lightning and its projected shadows shape and modify the space; the longitudinal opening placed on the roof attempt to create a disconnection with the exterior, while the sunlight movement projected through it at the frontal wall will set the pace of time.

The concept behind it emerges from the morphology of snails, fundamentally based on its circular pathway. The shape allows consumers to go through each individual section without it being an unnecessary long tour due to its proximity to the center of the circumference. This exercise pursued to focus on the calculus of the truss structure. The plan geometrically divided by sections helps to modulate the truss structure and therefore the calculus of maximum load in each of them. This pavilion is not designed as a farming area but a sales point, with an opening at its entrance for ventilation and a covering material, similar to the ones used in open air markets.

Sendas Enredadas PATIO DEL RECTORADO MÁLAGA, 2014
2014’s main theme is “Once upon a time”, so the proposal highlights the concept by creating a magical scene for the visitor. The ephemeral installation appears as an entropic chaos, surrounding the visitor on a thick forest made of knotted ropes. All the tangled ropes shape different spaces and paths, which expand and contract letting more or less light go through it. Sendas Enredadas is, first of all, a game: adopting the role of a fantasy story character traversing an enchanted forest. Suspended lights will light up the visitor way through the ropes maze. *Collaboration with Juan Galván, Fausto Santarosa, Francisco Villa.
Rumbo a la tempestad DEÁN GARCÍA MOTA ST MÁLAGA, 2015
Awarded proposal for “Noche en Blanco 2015”, based on the topic “Mirando al mar” (Looking at the sea). Over the time, there have been many marine adventures, both real and fictitious, but all share a common subject: the Storm. The main concept issues from the intangible vestiges of the memory of the seashore, located where nowadays rests the rector’s office of the University of Málaga. It emerges from a reflection about the storm/tempest transcendence in navigation, stating the mutating character of the ocean. A storm suspended among the streets of the city, shaped with a plastic material that allows this translucent image with one of each marine tongue. *Collaboration with Marta Sevillano, Jorge Sánchez, Alejando Rubio, Jose Antonio Vigara, Fausto Santarosa, Alvaro Hidalgo.
JAPTS DYNAMIC MAP TORREMOLINOS, 2016
JAPTS is an interactive map developed to be a simple resource to analysis the city of Torremolinos. It shows three different cartographies: physical cartography (noise, activities areas, socioeconomic status), sensitive cartography (connections between focuses of music, sports, gastronomy‌) and rational cartography (building types, age groups, transports, and illegal drugs consumed). These can be checked on the seasons since 1960. On these screenshots from the app it is explained how the parameters change along the year. *Collaboration with Juan Galvån, Fausto Santarosa, Francisco Villa.
