interest in your community. I would also like to thank all of you who voted in those elections; while this may not seem like a big deal to you, your input is crucial to ensuring that the entire Community’s interests are considered when decisions are being made. Now for the “pitch.” Seven Committees exist within the governing structure of the Master Association to assist and advise the Board on a wide range of subjects. Each of these Committees

Board and management team. It is important to remember that Board decisions are not made in a vacuum. Input from the Committees is essential to the Board’s decision-making process and very few decisions are made by the Board without relevant information, analysis, and recommendations from the Committees. Each edition of the Aliante Aerial includes a list of the Committees and their current membership. If you see an open position on a committee for which you have an interest, please consider requesting a Committee Interest Form, fill it out and submit it to the following email address at AlianteMaster@FSRNEvada.com. Even if there isn’t a current opening on a committee of interest, residents are, except in a few specific cases, welcome to observe the workings of the Committees. There are twenty Neighborhoods – thirteen sub-associations and 7 cost centers – within Aliante. Each of these Neighborhoods is authorized to have one of their members represent the interest of their Neighborhood before the Master Association. While these “delegates” are not members of the Master Association Board, they do have the ability to represent their Neighborhoods before the Board at their regularly scheduled meetings. Please consider volunteering in whatever capacity your interests and availability might allow. Your community will be a better place with your involvement.

Neighborhood Justice Center
The tree in my neighbor’s yard has branches that extend into mine, dropping leaves in my pool. What can be done? My neighbor has a leak in their backyard landscaping that ruined my side of the wall. How can I get this fixed? I am continuously being disturbed and/or harassed by my neighbors. How can I get this resolved? Everyone has neighbors, and where there are neighbors, there could be problems. Problems outside the scope of a homeowners association. In life, differences frequently result in misunderstandings, unproductive communication, anger and sometimes lawsuits. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an outlet built on the principle that conflicts can be successfully resolved without costly courtroom battles? A place where people have an opportunity to talk, listen and understand each other’s issues and feelings? A forum to resolve issues or provide answers about how to deal with challenging neighbors while maintaining your sanity and quality of life?
Well, there is The Neighborhood Justice Center. The Center provides a forum for the impartial mediation of minor disputes including neighbor to neighbor issues. The goal is to provide a continuum of alternative conflict resolution services, including facilitation, mediation and specialized training to those in need. The mediator does not decide who is right or wrong, nor will they make a decision on the issue. Their objective is to help both parties come to their own resolution and conclusion on how to end the conflict and assist with a written agreement. There is no cost for mediation, but some specialty services charge a nominal fee; so please check with the Justice Center to see which option may be best for you.

City Council Corner WE ARE FINALLY near the end of 2021! What a
year this has been! The pandemic has taken a toll on everyone, but it’s also made us more resilient and stronger than ever. I want to thank each and every one of you who have gone above and beyond to make our Aliante community the loving and family-friendly neighborhood that it is. Please continue to support one another and keep those wonderful acts of kindness going. It’s what makes us North Las Vegas proud. Now that November is finally here, I am thrilled to invite you all to my Paws in the Park event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at Aliante Nature Discovery Park, 2627 Nature Park Drive in North Las Vegas. We’ll have some amazing community partners and exhibitors, as well as contests and activities planned for all of our furry friends. I hope to see you all there! Speaking of animals, I’m happy to announce that our North Las Vegas Police Department’s Animal Protection Services team is expanding its services and hours. Animal Protection Services (previously Animal Control) now operates seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. We are also looking at the possibility of further expanding the hours and number of officers sometime in the future. The purpose of this Division is to educate the public regarding responsible pet ownership, enforce City animal ordinances and protect those furry and feathered friends who do not have a voice. Animal Protection Services helps animals, as well as the public, by rescuing injured or sick animals, managing stray and potentially dangerous animals
roaming at large, removing deceased animals from private and public property and transporting lost pets to the animal shelter where their owners can reclaim them. All lost pets are taken to The Animal Foundation. Anyone with animal complaints or Animal Protection Services requests are asked to contact North Las Vegas Police Department dispatch as 702633-9111. In other exciting news, North Las Vegas continues to grow with the addition of another big Fortune 500 company, Ball Corporation, which will build a $290 million manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas’ Apex Industrial Park. Ball chose North Las Vegas for our business-friendly processes, our close proximity to their customers, access to major transportation routes and local labor pool. Ball will manufacture a wide range of sustainable aluminum beverage containers at its North Las Vegas packaging plant. The facility will span over 750,000 square feet on 76 acres. The plant is the latest development to come to Miner’s Mesa, located at the southern end of Apex, which is home to a growing number of top companies. These Fortune 500 companies are helping us diversify the economy of Southern Nevada by creating high-paying jobs, increasing the North Las Vegas’ tax base and attracting innovative technologies and processes, which in turn allows the City to provide additional services to you, our wonderful residents! I’m positive next year we’ll have even more exciting news, so stay tuned, and in the meantime, stay warm and enjoy the holidays! Richard Cherchio Mayor Pro Tem

Irrigation •Our irrigation schedule during August continued to be 6 days a week, 3 times a day for turf, and once a day for drip irrigation. •Our Irrigation schedule changed September 1st. from 6 days a week to 3 days a week. 3 times a day for turf, and once a day for drip irrigation. •In the month of August, we replaced thirteen 1” drip valves that deliver water to plants and trees, and we also replaced 5 2” valves that deliver water to turf areas in the community. Most, if not all, of these swapped valves, are due to a failing diaphragm caused that is caused by the wear and tear of daily use.
September 2021 Maintenance •Aerate all turf areas in the Aliante Community between September and October. •Fertilize all turf with 21-7-14. •Reduce our height from 3” to 2.5” and gradually reduce to 2” height. •Spot treat weeds on planter beds with Ranger Pro Herbicide. •Reduce watering days from 6 days a week to 3 days a week, between September 1st & October 31st. •Reduce watering days from 3 days a week to 1 day a week between November 1st & February 28th. •During the following weeks our plan is the following: •Overseed thin turf areas, fall conditions are ideal for this application. •Repair bare spots in turf areas. Fall temperatures and precipitation support the quick establishment of sod. •Tree Pruning, we’ll continue to clear low-hanging branches that are obstructing the sidewalks. •Selective plant pruning is the best practice to simplify and strengthen branch structure. This method is a longterm effect resulting in a much better plant aesthetically. •Annual flower change on all flowerpots in Aliante. We’ll install red and white annual flowers to go with the Holiday theme as we have in previous years. •From Thursday, Sep 2nd to Friday, Sep 10th maintenance was done on Deer Springs South – Clayton & also Brian Cram. continues on next page
Gothic Maintenance Report
continued from page 6
•From Monday Sep13th to Monday, Sep 20th maintenance on Aliante Pkwy South and Centennial Pkwy was done. •Currently we are doing maintenance on Aviary, we started on Tuesday, Sep. 21st, and we will be there until Tuesday, Sep. 28th. •From Wed. Sep 29th to Wed. October 6th, We will service Aliante Pkwy North and Elkhorn as schedule on our 2021 Aliante maintenance calendar. •On our schedule for this week, we also had Grand Teton. But that has been put on hold due to construction. Grand Teton is currently closed, and we cannot get any of our maintenance vehicles through. As soon as Grand Teton opens back up, we will send our entire team to do the maintenance clean-up. •This was also the case on Elkhorn, due to construction and lane reduction we couldn’t do much maintenance.
However, after speaking with a couple of the construction managers I was told that construction on Elkhorn should be completed in the next couple of weeks. As soon as all lanes are open, we Gothic will send an entire team to do a maintenance clean-up and plant replacement as need it. Irrigation •Valve Replacement •Between August and September, we have replaced 24 valves. •Most, if not all, of these valve replacements, are due to a faulty diaphragm caused by wear & tear, the life span of these valves is between 5-7 years of service. •Aliante HOA has 1576 irrigation valves servicing the property. 438 of those valves are used to maintain turf and the rest 1138 are used in drip irrigation for plants and trees.
Water Leak Email Hot Line Gothic has set up a 24 hour emergency email address for homeowners to use to report any landscape irrigation leaks as well as any other issues that pertain to the landscape within the Aliante Master Homeowners Association. With this service homeowners will also be able to send up to 2 photos of the area they are reporting.
Please report any leaks to this email: Hgarcia@gothiclandscape.com. Please note this is for reporting water leaks only.

What our program will change is the broadening of possible leads to crimes in your area. The Community Cam Program will give you and the NLVPD a chance to capture the perpetrator coming, leaving, or actually committing a crime while in progress. For example: You are a homeowner that has recently moved into a new home. You’ve purchased a home surveillance system and have registered your system with the NLVPD. Several weeks later, a Patrol Officer comes to your door and informs you of a recent burglary in your neighborhood. The Patrol Officer has used the database for this program in their patrol car and has gone to your residence for follow-up. The Patrol Officer asks you if it would be possible for you to review your video for a suspicious person or vehicle between the listed times of the event.

State Your Claim Could Nevada be holding money for you?
What money you may ask, Items specified in Nevada Revised Statutes 120A says Nevada could hold financial assets owed to an individual or a bus iness, including securities, bank accounts, uncashed payroll checks, utility deposits, insurance proceeds, gift certificates, and other items. The primary mission of the Nevada Unclaimed Property Division is to reunite original owners with their property. The Treasurer’s Office is charged with safeguarding the value of these assets in perpetuity. The original owner or heir never loses the ability to claim the property value. Note: Unclaimed Property Does Not Include Real Estate Or Vehicles.
Here is how you can check to see if you have unclaimed money. Go to the Nevada State Treasurer website and click the yellow smiley face option that says “search for unclaimed money”. It really is that easy. Not from Nevada? You can state your claim in other states as well. Go to missingmoney.com. There is no fee to file a claim or to search for property.
