From the President
Board of Directors
With the upcoming expiration on December 31, 2026 of the Aliante Development Agreement which includes the approved plant list, the Aliante Master Architectural Review Committee decided to revise and expand the Approved Plant List. The Committee has adopted the June 2026 edition of the Southern Nevada Water Authority Regional

will be grandfathered. It is important to remember that any plants or trees on the prohibited list that need to be replaced may not be replaced with a plant or tree on the prohibited list. Please refer to the July 23, 2026 Aliante Master Association Family Village Architectural Guidelines which will be emailed, posted online and sent by U.S. Mail only to homeowners for whom we do not have an email address in the next 30 days. As the community ages, there are always new and unexpected challenges for the Aliante Master Architectural Review Committee (ARC). With the uptick in homeowners undertaking extensive remodeling inside their homes, requests for Porta Potties have been increasing. The first request was met with an “eww” comment from one of the committee members, so the ARC decided a Portal Potty Policy, or “PP” Policy was needed. Look for this exciting new policy online in your email or U.S. Mail. Another need that has come about as the community ages and the trees that were planted by the builder behind some homeowners’ walls have grown is a Common Area Tree Maintenance, Overhanging Branches and Perimeter Wall Policy. The association first obtained a legal opinion before developing the policy. The bottom line is that the association is responsible for damage caused by the trees, but not the branches that hang over into homeowners’ back yards and the tree debris the tree may drop. This policy will also be posted online coming to you in your email or U. S, Mail. continues on page 5

City Council Corner AS WE MOVE into fall, Ward 4 has been busy
and I want to share a few updates, a community resource worth knowing about and an exciting event to put on your calendar. On July 22, I was proud to show my support at the fifth annual North Las Vegas Battle of the Badges blood drive at Aliante Casino Hotel and Spa. This year’s event carried special meaning. The American Red Cross is facing a nationwide blood shortage and our North Las Vegas police officers and firefighters answered the call. The North Las Vegas Police Department took home the win with 70 donors to the Fire Department’s 57, but in the end, we are all winners. This year’s blood drive was dedicated to Commander Jeff Lomprey, a retired North Las Vegas Fire Department arson investigator. Together, our first responders set a new event record with 127 donors and 116 units collected, surpassing the goal of 100. If you would like to give blood, visit redcross.org/give-blood, use sponsor code NLVBOTB or call 1-800-7332767. Even as temperatures begin to ease, please continue to look out for your pets on warm days. Make sure they always have access to shade and fresh water. City of North Las Vegas municipal code requires that when temperatures are expected to exceed 85 degrees, animals kept outdoors must have access to shade. When temperatures are expected to top 105 degrees, an additional cooling source such as a mister, swamp cooler or air conditioning is required. Our pets are counting on us.
From the President
Speaking of pets, mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Paws in the Park on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Aliante Nature Discovery Park. This free community event will feature a pet health and wellness fair with on-site vaccinations, microchipping, pet exams, spay and neuter vouchers and plenty of fun for the whole family, including a Doggie Paw-rade, trick-or-treat, food trucks and live music. Registration for vaccinations and microchipping opens Sept. 8. Call Hearts Alive Village at 702-780-0002 to reserve your spot. Services are available while supplies last, so do not wait. Finally, doing our part to keep our community clean starts with proper disposal of bulk items. I have partnered with Republic Services to offer free mattress disposal bags at four City of North Las Vegas locations: SkyView Multi-Generational Center at 3050 E. Centennial Pkwy., Neighborhood Recreation Center at 1638 N. Bruce St., Silver Mesa Recreation Center at 4025 Allen Ln. and Dolores Huerta Resource Center at 1737 Hunkins Dr. Mattresses must be bagged for bulk trash pickup, so grab a free bag and help keep our neighborhood clean. Thank you for the opportunity to serve Ward 4 and this community. Please do not hesitate to reach out at cherchior@cityofnorthlasvegas.com with questions, ideas or just to say hello. I also hope you will sign up for the city council newsletter at cityofnorthlasvegas.com. It is the best way to stay connected to what is happening across North Las Vegas. Your Friendly Neighborhood Patrol Below are a few of the items GardaWorld addresses for our communities: July 2026 When a resident reported a dog barking at their front door at 2 a.m., Security Officer Hellon promptly responded to the scene. After locating the dog, Officer Hellon contacted Animal Control to help identify and reunite the pet with its owner. Since the Animal Control office did not open until 7:30 a.m., Officer Hellon contained the dog to ensure its safety and well-being until Animal Control could take over. Thanks to his compassion and dedication, the situation had a happy and safe outcome for everyone involved. A big thank you to Officer DeWayne Lyons for going above and beyond to assist a motorist in need at Aliante Marketplace. When Officer Lyons observed a vehicle disabled and blocking traffic late one evening, he promptly checked on the driver, helped coordinate assistance, and contacted

His professionalism, quick response, and willingness to help reflect the commitment to service that helps keep our community running smoothly. Thank you, Officer Lyons, for making a positive difference! August 2026 A big thank you to Officer Barron for his quick response after noticing a sprinkler flooding the Aviary Bike Path near the entrance by the soccer field gate. He immediately contacted Gothic Landscaping to prevent further flooding and received a prompt callback from Manny, who dispatched a crew to investigate. Upon a follow-up inspection, Officer Barron confirmed that the sprinkler had been repaired and the flooding issue successfully resolved. Great teamwork and attention to detail helping keep our community safe and accessible!

Fall Water Savings with Seasonal Watering Restrictions ANOTHER SCORCHING Southern
Images: SNWA
Nevada summer is almost behind us, which means it’s almost time for football and pumpkin spice weather. Another sign of the changing seasons is the arrival of the community’s mandatory fall watering restrictions. In effect from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, the fall watering restrictions limit landscape irrigation to ONLY three assigned days per week; sprinkler watering is prohibited on Sunday. Watering outside of your assigned watering days can result in costly waterwaste fines. You can find your assigned watering days at snwa. com. During the fall, your drip-irrigated plants and trees should be watered on a recommended two-days-a-week schedule, based on the flow rate of your emitters. That’s really all they need! Meanwhile, grass should be watered no more than three days a week. While this may not sound like much, keep in mind that temperatures are getting cooler and your landscape can stay vibrant and healthy throughout the season with even less water than you think it needs. If you have grass, continue running your spray irrigation systems during the early morning hours through October to help minimize water potentially lost to wind and evaporation. Also, be sure to inspect and test your system regularly to locate and repair leaks, and to prevent overspray onto sidewalks and streets and other malfunctions—which could result in a water-waste fee. For more information about the community’s seasonal watering restrictions, and for money-saving tips to keep your landscape lush and happy all year long, visit snwa.com.
