Cultivate Overview

Page 1

What is Cultivate? Over 2 weeks, you and your students will have the opportunity to explore all things algae in agriculture. As you move through the curriculum students will learn about the basic living requirements of algae, the ins and outs of algae farming, get their hands dirty with experimental design and the inoculation of their own tabletop algae raceways, learn how to calculate, graph, and analyze data, and lastly, have the opportunity to develop their own algae company and product to pitch to the class. All curriculum materials, lab supplies, and live algae are provided FREE to teachers and schools. The only expense not covered by the Algae Foundation are the 9 gallons of distilled or spring water required for the field trial. Suggested Lesson Schedule: Please feel free to use any open days as working days for the Algae Innovation Challenge group project.
