SHOPFRONT Your shopfront is to comply with the NCC/ BCA 2019 ( and Section J – where applicable). Your shopfront is to be self-supporting and not impose any load to the base build structure. All door guides, tracks, lockdowns, trims, covers, mechanisms, access panels need to be recessed and set flush or concealed within surrounding planes and secured with mechanical fixings.
STRUCTURAL
Mechanical fixings are to be used as the primary method of installation for signage, linings, cladding and other embellishments. Adhesives may only be used as a secondary fixing to the primary ( mechanical ) method of installation.
Provide Structural Engineer’s documentation with details setting out structural intent for the bulkhead and shopfront support before handover of premises for lessor review.
Where adhesive fixings are the only suitable method of installation ( i.e. tile to masonry wall ), lessee’s consultants to issue details of the product including manufacturers recommendation for preparation and use, warranties etc.
Structural drawings must be submitted to the lessor during the design review process. All certification must be in place prior to open for trade.
All structural items to be designed and certified by a registered structural engineer.
