Greetings from the Albany Public Schools Foundation!

This month’s quote feels especially fitting as we celebrate the Class of 2026, whose dreams for the future are beginning to take flight

The Albany Public Schools Foundation is honored to support these students’ future goals and plans by awarding 157 scholarships worth more than $293,000. Thanks to our generous community partners, donors, and service clubs, we can help make many students’ futures a little brighter. If you would like to help a graduating senior with their future plans, please consider establishing a scholarship for the Class of 2027. Contact Andrea Recek, our Director of Programs, to learn more.

SAVE THE DATE— Our iCelebrate Kids Gala & Auction will be held on October 24th at the Linn County Expo. Join us for an evening of celebration and fundraising in support of students in our community. Your support is especially meaningful this year as we continue investing in programs across our district. We are currently seeking event sponsors Registration OPENS August 1 . st Join us and help make a difference to the students!

As the school year comes to a close, we are celebrating 28 Greater Albany Public Schools educators and staff members who are retiring this year We hope they know the lasting impact they have made on students, and we wish them a joyful and relaxing retirement

In closing, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who have stepped up this past year and helped the APSF. Whether it was at one of our events, iRun, iSwim or iCelebrate, or at a work party here at the office, we could not do what we do without your help. From our amazing board members to community members to service clubs, you help us in so many ways, and we are eternally grateful.

As we wrap up our fiscal year, I encourage you to continue supporting the Albany Public Schools Foundation’s efforts to ensure every student in our community has the opportunity to succeed. Did you know we accept Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), which may offer tax advantages under current tax laws? Please feel free to call me to discuss your charitable giving to APSF.

Every gift, no matter the size, helps create brighter futures and is sincerely appreciated

Take care and have a wonderful start to the summer!

“This project has been a huge success. It has been a joy watching students at recess engage in so many activities. We have had way less conflicts because students have so many activities to choose from. Every morning my TA brings the cart of equipment outside and he is surrounded by 3rd graders. They are so excited to get out to recess and play Students that normally just sit or can't find something to do are now active and trying all kinds of new things.”
